BEFORE: "I'd say Benz is under-rated," Neve admits in prefight. "She's physically average, but she's very cool under pressure - always makes good decisions - I mean, there's a reason she took Jennie Garth apart. It's a fight I've wanted for some time and I'm just glad we could pull it together." Benz equally complimentary...to a point. "The thing with Neve is that - as good as she was at one point - you've got to look at the wars she's had, and realize that she's not the Neve Campbell she was just a few years ago. She's got more Fight of the Year awards over the last decade than any other fighter...those brawls with Jewel, Rachel, Dani...you don't just commit to that, then walk away all fresh. Neve's body and legs are tired - I just don't think she can summon the kind of ferocity she once did. And that means her time has come." Julie in baby blue lace push up, crisp white bikini bottoms; white gloves; hair in ponytail with swept bangs. Neve assuming relaxed crossed arm - right hand palm-out at left cheek/left across gut as she bobs from the waist. Benz stepping in off poke to fit palm-down hooks loud behind Neve's right elbow: Julie often doubling up from there, chopping a tidy left into Neve's breasts before sidestepping her. Campbell touched up, getting turned and bamboozled here: Julie showing educated hands and feet in dictating terms through 2.

R3: Neve stepping to Julie behind ramrod jab to chest: brunette locating her blonde, then heaving in sidearm, swinging right roundhouses to make sure of the ribcage. Julie grimacing - feeling Neve to the body - blonde girl falling back in crossed arm, right hand just inside left shoulder/left across gut. Neve hounds Julie - clobbering her biceps out wide; working the flanks/hips...Benz turning at the ropes, using her legs to avoid being cornered. Down the stretch...Julie fading back in good order: she stops to receive Neve's right roundhouse on left hip; issues an immediate curling right uppercut that catches ALL of Neve's chin: CAMPBELL'S ROCKED! Neve sorely chin-checked - stepping in fence post holes: she forms ragged earmuff as Julie goes over to offence. Benz hardhearted, eyes cold as she unleashes both hands to Neve's pale, stocky waist, beating Campbell breathless at bell. Julie hops away all business like and determined: she just stole a Neve Campbell round to take the early lead.

R4: Campbell approaching in earmuff - dropping jabs out of the high guard, stepping close: she wants her left shoulder in Julie's chest. Benz fielding hard poke off her face - she can't deny Neve position, has to fight with her shoulder to shoulder. Campbell diligent, methodical, heavy handed. She beats at Julie's paunch via rolling right/lefts - then comes up top hooking. Benz clouted, but holding her ground - when it's her turn, she'll beat back at Neve's belligerent tummy, then hook tits or chin - whatever Neve's giving up. Both girls bump a sturdy left shoulder in offending breasts, steering the opponent around; both seek to fit muscular left hooks in behind opposing right elbows. Bump and grind favours Neve: she pulls away late on the strength of a succession of left hooks vs Julie's right flank.

R5: Neve jabs her way onto Julie: Campbell ruff with her showered-tousle in close; ruff with her left shoulder. Julie getting pushed around, but staying tight: she's blocking shots on her elbows, sidestepping, looking to fit Neve's chin for spicy counteruppercuts. Spirited back and forth - girls compact, chipping and clouting away at close quarters with no clinching...when suddenly, it's over. Neve chips an innocent little left uppercut - just brushing Julie's lips, doing no harm...then BURYING that left hook to liver via trademark short, shoving delivery. Agony on Julie's face: she cramps up, arms immediately hugging her body; she backs away as she's folding up...easing herself to left knee as Neve looks on, hands at her sides. Julie sobbing for breath, goes to all fours, eyes squeezing out gutshot tears as the 10 count passes her by. KO5 in sudden fashion - Neve Campbell.

AFTER: Julie more than holding her own - banging-with and out-boxing Neve in spots...but Campbell breaking out the ol' body eraser changes the fight with a thunderbolt to liver. Fighters cool during the official announcement: cordial pre-fight feel replaced by a frosty tension as Neve makes provocative "I'm better," eye-contact in the aftermath, ruffling Julie's feathers. "She was counting on all the supposed mileage I've got on my odometer," Neve shrugs in postfight. "Yeah, I've been in brawls, but I'm strong and I'm built sturdy. Maybe SHE'D be all broken down if she'd fought those fights, but I'm feeling like I could punch my way to another title if the right girls make the right mistakes. I showed a career gatekeeper what a champion's like tonight...don't think Julie appreciated the lesson." Benz far from a broken woman, telling BLONDE! Magazine in days to come that she'd fight Neve again: "Anytime, anywhere. As far as I'm concerned, true champions don't rely on lucky punches to bail themselves out of tough fights."
