Aftermath: At ringside, Blake Lively crowing over Serinda's misery; texting; twittering; yakking to everyone who'll stop and listen to her crow about how much better she is than "poor old Serinda Swan Song" - and at the same time, claiming (at least partial) credit for Theron's victory - apparently based solely on rumor, speculation and unattributed Internet posts that say "Lively may have been in contact with Theron." But why not? Victory has a thousand fathers but defeat is an orphan, so nobody's queuing up to take credit for Serinda's performance!

Heartbreak for Swan despite a very fine effort. Vindication for Theron who guns down the tyro who took out mighty Jeri 'Freakin' Ryan! Charlize discards her gloves, adjusts her garb, then walks across the ring to Swan's corner. Serinda cringing on her stool as Charlize looms over her, then extends her hand, palm up. Swan hesitates, then puts her hand in Theron's and lets Charlize pull her to her feet. Charlize grabs the young brunette in a bearhug and lifts her off her feet, swinging her around and then sets her back on her feet. She leans over and whispers something to Swan who looks surprised, then Serinda glances over at Charlize's corner, making eye contact with Cat Bell who nods.

As Charlize turns to go back to her corner, Blake Lively appears at ringside, beating her palms on the ring apron and SCREAMING, "NO! Dammit no, Theron! You can NOT let her off the hook like that; not without walking the 8itch! It's so not fair! Please..."

Theron just looks down at Blake with an expression between disgust and dismay, then continues walking back to rejoin Stone and Bell. Then they all head back to her dressing room, leaving Lively and Swan standing there glaring at one another for several minutes. Ultimately, Lively throws up her hands and storms angrily away muttering and kicking at the debris littering the aisle.

Charlize met with the press first and she praised Swan for her, "Tough, gritty, effort; exactly what I expected from her. Sure she got after my 'goodies' a more than I would have liked - doesn't everybody? But she fought clean and fought hard. There's no disgrace losing if you put forth your best effort and, tonight, hers wasn't good enough. You saw a young fighter who's still growing and developing going out and giving a good account of herself."

Asked what she had said to Swan, Charlize just shrugged and suggested the questioner, "Ask Serinda. It's not my place to say." Theron also declined to discuss the tirade by Blake Lively when she refused to 'walk' Swan. "I didn't think it was warranted. You walk someone; you do it to send them, or someone else, a message. Swan's not in any stable, so there's really no one else to send a message to. I'm pretty sure she got the only message I wanted when she woke up after getting knocked out. Iexpect I'll be seeing her again if she continues to develop as rapidly as she has so far. And I'm looking forward to it."
Swan when she appeared, looked a little the worse for wear, but she was upbeat when speaking about Theron. "Sure, I'll tell you what she said. Referring to that stuff about me being the 'next Cat Bell' she nodded at her corner and said, 'The real Cat Bell is right over there. You ought to get to know her; she can teach you a thing or two. You've got a long ways to go before you're any kind of 'Cat Bell'.

"No, in answer to that question; I'm not signing on with the Academy and I'm not hiring Bell to train me. But I am going to make sure to introduce myself and - if she's so inclined as to offer advice - I'll listen with both ears. I can't overstate how much Bell has done for brunettes - and women's boxing. She's an inspiration to us all and I can't imagine any kind of boxing Hall of Fame without her bust in it!"
