BEFORE: Early photo-shoot...Kelly quietly asking Yvonne to step back a smidge...Straho pushing forward just a bit more instead, leading to a hard right forearm smash to her breasts. People expecting professionalism and mutual respect in pre-fight bitterly disappointed: two professional and well respected ladies take an immediate dislike to one another during the promotion. "With Winstead firmly under control, I'm imposing my will on the division," Yvonne explains at podium, "obviously Joanne's resisting my authority. Fine. I don't expect girls to roll over. But make no mistake: I'm not accepting any crap from fighters any more. Joanne's going to take a beating from a True Champion, and it's going to stay with her for the rest of her career!"

Joanne not buying the hype in rebuttal. "I've seen Great Blondes in action," Kelly says at podium, "and Yvonne Strahovski is no Great Blonde. She reminds me of Catherine Zeta Jones: a fighter who's uncomfortable unless she's got all the advantages going in. Gutless. Conceited. During R1: Kelly showing her hand early, rushing in to make a brawl of things. Leads to Yvonne taking several clubbing rights and lefts about head and shoulders, driving her ropeside. Fighters toe to toe on apron, trading hot and heavy and KELLY GETS ROCKED! Brunette blinking, stunned, backing away in shock: blonde girl takes a moment to catch her breath, then SHE goes on the offensive. Yvonne hurt, uncharacteristically wild on approach - lunging for Kelly with rights and lefts out of a walking barrage, driving Joanne to far ropes with desperate face-pasting. Kelly staring, gobsmacked, but fighting back hard with HER back to ropes - sweeping the wide right hand to blonde breadbasket as Yvonne barrels in. Holding and hitting as girls tumble tummy-to-tummy along ropes...ref issues break, parting panting, frazzled beauties. They lunge back in, all skills forgotten - each just trying to lash the other an overhand right or wide thumbside-up hook. Down the stretch, Yvonne faces into a crashing right off her forehead; eats the follow-on hook and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Strahovski in disbelief as she starts stumble-bumming backwards, finally crashing to buns-and-elbows! Kelly snarling down, all wobbly-butt and hurt herself, but she's getting the kind of fight she wants through 1!

R2: Kelly all shoulders-hunched, chin tucked, wading in for more pier-6 action, but Yvonne's not cooperating. Blonde girl using long, lithe legs now, loping around either brunette flank, initiating turning-battle midring. Vonnie with the left loose at her hip, distributing snappy up-jabs into Joanne's face...blonde keeping belligerent brunette at arm's length. Kelly trying to close-and-bang, but it's costly...blonde left jab a cracking wonder, really spanking Joanne into compliance. Midway through, Joanne trying to weave in close...she eats the poke, stares in response and gets her chin kissed HARD to starboard, courtesy Vonnie's rocket right cross. DOWN GOES KELLY! Joanne dropping forward to haunches and hands, lips parted in wonder...she's suddenly fragile, trembling on the spot as long blonde legs stride past. Jo beats the count rickety, groups her mitts at her mouth, shuffles forward off the ropes, but Vonnie's blood is up! Strahovski LASHING Joanne a soul-stealing buggy-whip right across the waist...sliding counter-clockwise off the stroke...turning Jo into a lanky left uppercut to sternum...pivoting clockwise around THAT score. Kelly grimacing in body-shock, really feeling the champ downstairs...trim brunette legs all a-tremble as Joanne stumbles forward, trying to get her head onto Vonnie's shoulder. Straho not having it...long blonde vixen keeping her distance, then bending in to bullwhip that right hand wide to flank; popping hips to sling the rising left into pale brunette midsection; sidestepping as poor Kelly crumbles forward. Wicked-licking body attack soon cuts power to Joanne's legs...she drops to all fours, whining in pain, but refusing to accept a stoppage! Kelly beats the count in tears, putting her back on the ropes for support: ON COMES VONNIE AFTER 8! Strahovski stepping to Joanne all blonde-on-a-mission - eyes blazing as Joanne forms face-in-gloves. A champion beats her challenger then - rich, thick, shellacking whacks behind either elbow; great cuts of tummy taken with either hand - the palms-up punches slashing side to side across Kelly's quivering gut. Snarling blonde girl pushing on Joanne's head or shoulders to put her butt in ropes, then the beating continues...blonde girl heating up, shining sweaty under the lights as she straps away and THE REF STEPS IN! Joanne in tatters, beaten all numb and tender as she's cradled to safety...TKO2 in savage fashion, Yvonne Strahovski.

After: Tense moments in the immediate aftermath as Vonnie's crowding the ref's back, taunting battered Kelly...Yvonne showing something of the same edgy quality she displayed in turning back the Winstead menace. Kelly ruined, but had the right idea turning things into a brawl...SO close to upsetting the champ's applecart with a first round knockdown. "Girls think I'm soft," Yvonne says in prefight, eyes glittering like hard-carbon. "Ask Joanne Kelly if I'm soft. She wanted a street fight and I gave her one. It was me on her at the end - me on her. Anyone who thinks they can just come in here, get me slugging and catch me lucky is just asking for a beating. Joanne Kelly said that I wasn't a Great Blonde. Well, blondes are measured by how they treat brunettes, and if you go by my performance tonight, you know exactly what I am. Joanne Kelly isn't even close to my level. She got the jump on me and couldn't close, because good doesn't beat Great. Line up the next chump, because I'm not even close to done yet. I rule with an iron freaking fist, guys - and I'm just getting started!"
