Before: Lohan champing at the bit at the prospect of Hayek - Linds very conscious of her historical legacy even at this young age, desperately wants to take a few legendary scalps like Salma's. "It's a huge fight for me personally," an upbeat Lindsay tells press in prefight. "I think Hayek got old against Hewitt, but there's still plenty of fight in the old girl yet - just thinking about beating her gives me goosepimples." Hayek irritated by reference to her problems with Hewitt - Salma anxious to erase that stigma by taking her umpteenth title at Lindsay's expense. "I'll break this chica in two," Hayek growls. "Lohan is too fragile for me - my punches will shatter her like fine china." Lindsay in royal blue string bikini (Aristide ref). Hayek in black bikini, hair in low ponytail, small black gloves.

During R1: Lohan's gameplan evident at the open: box, box, box. Lindsay on straight, springy legs, tap-stepping and shuffling counterclockwise - right hand up and palm-out, cheek high; left hand lower, also partially extended. Sharp stabbing jab off the step-in - Lohan crisp with the shot, chipping and scuffing at Salma's brows, mouth. Lohan tapping out straight rights from the front (left) foot - scoring on Hayek, then leaning away, circling around before Hayek can respond. Salma turning, frowning - crossing her arms, showing earmuff, bobbing - but not penetrating or closing distance at all on nimble Lindsay. Shutout Lohan - she's all confident swagger/cocky smile back to her corner.

R2: More snappy boxing from Lindsay - rigid, tapping punches designed to score rather than hurt - tap-stepping heel-and-toe footwork neatly turning Salma's flanks midring. Hayek finally bobbing and weaving her way in close enough to rip hooks to Lohan's ribcage - good solid clout, but one shot at a time - Lindsay not interested in extended trade at this time.

R3: Lohan takes her third straight: Hayek's face lumping up nicely under the constant tap of Lindsay's straight-poking rights and lefts. Lindsay showing no respect for her elder: she'll score with a cheeky lead right off the front foot, then stick her tongue out at a frustrated Hayek. Midway through a pretty jab-to-face/hook-off-the-jab to ribs/hook to chops puts Hayek on her heels: Lindsay beams a happy glance into the Hayek corner. Salma goaded by ingenue sauce, getting a little reckless: Lohan disciplined enough to capitalize, running Salma onto that chiselling jab, turning her, then spicing her up sharp one-twos from angles. Lindsay jaunty to her corner - smiling trainer gives her a quick hug, tells her "Perfect!" before sitting her down to reinforce a few key points.

R4: Hayek getting discouraged: Lindsay's beating the Mighty Mex to punches, busting up Hayek's left eye and bloodying her nose. Lohan using her extra inches to good effect, keeping her distance, stepping laterally behind rigid, straight punches. Linds raking her hook more consistently this round - clawing it across Salma's ribs and breasts, clouting Salma's mouth. Chop right hands scoring - Lindsay now pushing them in off the back (right) foot and scoring with head-jolting leverage. No one punch does it, but by the midway point - Hayek's wobbly butt, confused, unable to come forward with effective aggression. Bell: Lindsay tosses hair off her freckled face, chin up, face beaming with pride - she's giving Salma Hayek a PASTING through 4!

R5: Hayek gritting her teeth, bobbing, weaving and fighting her way through to Lohan's chest, then banging away hooks - but Latina spots are few and far between. Lohan constantly getting off first, fists finding Hayek's face with impunity, and Lindsay's own clawing, slender-armed hook is raking head, chest and ribcage with authority. Most impressive: Lohan's footwork - it's economical, crisp, legs are springy and straight so she's always balanced to punch off the balls of her feet. Hayek really busting up - Lindsay not loading up on the legend, just tapping, chopping and poking at her with relentless work. Bell: girls disengage - Hayek moody, glaring to her corner; Lohan skipping, grinning, tossing hair out of her eyes - just loving it on Salma through 5.

R6: Hayek with her strongest assault yet - finally pressing Lohan to ropes and bludgeoning her with a brace of ringing rights and lefts up and down both flanks. Lindsay gritting her teeth, slugging back - she backs Hayek to midring behind a furious volley of rising lefts and rights: it's the truest flat-footed toe-to-toe of the fight so far. Wild exchange of rights and lefts and SALMA'S HOOK FLATTENS LOHAN TO HER BACK! Sudden, devastating knockdown - Lohan literally blown down by the punch to lie sprawled and tingling on her back - Hayek storming past all angry-butt, flashing-eyed as ref barks out the 8. Linds struggling up off the canvas but swaying in the wind: fight turns on a dime as poor Lohan's terribly, terribly hurt. ON COMES HAYEK! Gut check of a lifetime for a young champion as one of boxing's most merciless finishers squares away to take back her title. OH the body blows - rich, biting rights and lefts bashing into, bouncing off taut redhead torso and tummy. JUGG! Hayek HAMMERING Lohan's hooters - short, muscular lefts and rights in rising arcs smashing at the blue bikini top. CHIN-CHECKS! Lindsay's guard flimsy at best - Hayek able to find chin with short-arm hooks off the hip and clouting right hands, battering Lindsay forlorn against the ropes and LOHAN'S DOWN AGAIN! Seconds left in the round - Lohan deposited to all fours, panting and snivelling in shock. Hayek pumping her fists and bellowing as she stalks to her corner, surging back into the fight in the sixth!

R7: Lohan ramshackle: springy legs suddenly soggy, feet flat, balance uncertain - Lindsay seeks out the comfort of the ropes to help prop her up. OH THE BEATDOWN! Gutcheck #2 for Linds as Hayek squares away one muscular little bully again - pushing at Lohan, bumping and jostling her, then bashing away at all things Lindsay. Tummy? All torn up. Ribs? Ripped and cudgelled. Jugs? Bashed flat. Face? Pasted. Hayek's teeth bared as she slugs and resets, slugs and resets - short, sharp, brutal delivery battering at Lohan. Lindsay grimacing behind her gloves as she leans forward to absorb body blows; then she eases right shoulder into ropes - right hand at her chin, left across her gut, left shoulder pointed at Hayek to help roll punches. Bell to bell Hayek - but plucky little Lindsay very brave and tuff: she survives it, staggering off the ropes all rickety and shabby to her stool.

R8: Both ladies all busted up and swollen - both have had their innings, done ruinous things to offending faces and bodies. Hayek's fury abates - she's taking deep mouth breaths, trying to recuperate this round: Lindsay catches a second wind. Lohan broken down - not as sharp as earlier, but executing a shabby version of the same look - treating Hayek to a steady, pulsing jab/sharp, straight right hands off the shoulder (weight on front foot for a pinging delivery). Lohan lathering her hook - doubling it up as she pivots left - very effective at turning Hayek's right flank, forcing Latina to reset her feet.

R9: Shutout Lohan: Salma crouching forward, bobbing/weaving, but unable to get off. Lindsay pinging out rigid/sticky lefts and rights from the shoulder - weight out over that front foot: only when she pivots left does she get serious leverage, hooking upside Hayek's head to turn her. Salma's left eye all but closed - right eye not looking much better - and she's no longer moving her head, just facing into Lohan's stinging punches. Scuffing, chipping contact - Lohan whittling on Salma's face - good steady stuff from Lindsay banks a valuable late round, steadies the ship after that scary Hayek rally in the 6th/7th.

R10: Resounding Lohan shutout: Hayek drained, shabby, taking hard punches now and even staggering back on her heels at points. Lindsay staying disciplined: even when she's got Salma rocked, champ isn't pressing to finish - it's just get off/step to the side, get off/step to the side. Hayek's head busting back from Lindsay's pinging straight right, and swivelling from Lohan's clawing, often doubled-up hook - brilliant stuff from outside from a wiry young champion. Down the stretch - Lohan knows she's ahead: kid suddenly jumps in and gets ALL UP IN SALMA'S RACK! Chugging, short-shrugging volley of bumping lefts and rights puts the chamois to the proudest jugs in all of the Americas, backing Hayek to ropes and leaving her destitute at the bell. Lohan leaping and cavorting, bounding around the ring before the decision: Hayek frazzled, tears standing in her eyes - furious and impotent at the same time as Lindsay makes a brazen statement to rack late. Comes back UD10 for the winner and STILL flyweight champ - Lindsay Lohan.

After: Ouch - youth served big time as Hayek time and again can't pull the trigger the way she once would have. Monster midrounds rally put Hayek squarely back in the fight and set her up for a second-half victory, but Lindsay wouldn't have it. Lohan firms, turns Salma back, and by the end - the kid was having her saucy way with the Latina Legend. "It totally hasn't sunk in yet," Lohan chokes in postfight, beaten almost beyond recognition, but wearily triumphant. "Salma Hayek. Beaten. By me. It's like a dream come true. We knew we wanted to box Hayek - I'm taller than she is, I was able to lead on her, be first - you know, I felt I was hurting her and controlling her pretty easily. And then bam - I'm on my back and the next thing I know, she's beating me up on the ropes. That's probably my proudest moment so far in boxing: surviving Hayek's finishing flurry. That broke her - when she couldn't finish me, her heart shrivelled up. By the end of this fight, I was the woman and she was the girl. I'll never forget that as long as I live!"
