Boxing After Dark

Before: Both girls picking each other to be stepping stones—something’s gotta give. BLONDE! magazine fanning the flames, branding Judd a turncoat and putting their editorial weight behind Garth with Ashley fighting as a brunette for the first time. Pick ‘em fight on paper, both girls seasoned pros coming off long layoffs, should be a competitive outing. Judd in grey clingy tank top, purple panties (see recent trailers) Jennie in black push up, grey cotton briefs.

During R1: Garth stabbing her left into Ashley’s gut, holds it there, then comes roaring over the top with slanging right hand on the cheek to put Judd wobbly butt. Rest of the round is mopping up for Jennie—she steps around her girl, hooking and jabbing Ashley to the head, then plunging in with sleek straight rights to the chest and mouth—Judd hurt, hands uo high, does a good job of blocking, moving her head to avoid the KO if not the shutout.

R2: Jennie continues to dictate—using her jab, moving in and out, backing away to circle to a new angle—Garth’s ring generalship superb. Judd not doing much, gloves at her temples, stomping after Garth but getting potshotted and not answering back. Jennie lights Ashley up midway through with a slamming shirt right cross, left hook, tapping jab, and bending right cross to send Judd reeling once again.

R3: Starting to look cruel—Judd staggery, busting up, gloves at her temples—Jennie all relaxed, smiling, hands down--she reaches in lead right hands or poking lefts from her hips as she steps around—Judd getting her head snapped back. Final minute, Jennie just picking Ashley apart, blonde uptempos, jumping in with a sweeping hook/drilling right hand on the mouth and DOWN GOES JUDD! Judd dropped to her backside at the ropes, clearly dazed, disappointed in herself—she beats the count at the bell as Jennie flounces saucily to her corner.

R4: Back to basics for Judd—she’s just been badly outboxed through 3, so she adjusts. Crossing her arms, bobbing up and down, Judd gets inside and fights off Jennie’s chest this round and it’s a good brunette stanza. Thumping both hands off the waist, jerking as short hook across the chest and jaw of the blonde, Judd works for a shutout this round as Garth rolls her shoulders, tries to slip punches.

R5: Jennie re-establishes the jab, stamping it hard against Judd’s face, stepping left as the brunette grimly walks her down. Looks like another blonde shutout down the stretch, Judd counters Jen’s jab with a biting left hook on the teeth and GARTH GOES DOWN! Jennie dropped to HER backside, looks you in wonder, shaking her head and getting heavily to her feet at 8. Judd turning the round in her favour with power—Garth running out the clock as Ashley stalks.

R6: Jennie flat footed, her jab holds Ashley off for a minute, but once Judd pays the price, she outworks Jen inside. Garth just laying in with the brunette, elbows in tight, gloves at her face—Judd chopping at the hips and sides, using the left elbow to rub Jennie back, open up space for a swatting hook upstairs, Hard working round for Judd, Both girls shining up with abuse through 6 tough rounds.

R7: Jennie’s down off her toes, needs to get Ashley’s respect inside—grueling trench warfare breaks out as the girls bang away shoulder to shoulder. Garth with exquisite timing and subtle D in close—she’s turning her shoulders, bending side to side, picking Judd up with short counters upside the head. Ashley not getting off, or connecting with grazing, glancing blows, gets herself bamboozled this round.

R8: Ashley with booming lefts and rights up underneath, herds Jennie to the ropes and works the blonde over for all three minutes, Hamfisted beat down--Garth with her elbows in, bending, dipping, rolling, but she’s not answering back—Judd able to pump, move her hands, often missing Jennie with first punches in a series but then catching her with the third or fourth snapping blow., Body work really wearing Jennie down—she’s open mouthed, disheveled at the bell.

R9: Forehead to forehead, Garth all out of tricks—she’s just fighting Judd now, girls taking turns chugging away to the body with 3 and 4 curling blows inside. Judd giving ground as Jen fights with real desperation, blonde pushing brunette backside on the ropes, laying on with her head in Judd’s chest and just burrowing into the gut with heavy leveraged shits, Judd’s turn to take a deep breath—she got outworked that round.

R10: Crowd pleasing continues midring as the girls close, set up shop toe to toe and start trading. Back and forth, crisp 2 and 3 punch bursts, fists splattering and bouncing hard off shoulders and heads, spanking and digging into pale bellies—harsh give and take as both beauties know it’s close. Final minute, this fight is still up for grabs—Ashley Judd closes with a left/right/left up into Jennie’s gut that forces the blonde to retreat, cover up on the ropes, All Judd at the bell as she smashes side ti side with wide lefts and rights, ref pushing her back at the bell, Goes as a draw—Judd pulling even in the final round.

After: Neither girl particularly pleased with outcome—in postfight, all they remember is sitting the other girl down, working her over at the ropes, and the many, many times the opponent was hurt in this fight. Truth is this was a marvelous back and forth slugfest, Garth dominating from outside, but unable to keep Judd at the end of her punches—Ashley forcing the blonde to fight her fight and gouging her way back into the scoring late.
