23 July 2014 Christina Hendricks vs Nikki Ziering

"I"ve been toying with the idea of a return to the ring for a while now," said Nikki Ziering before the weigh in. "You know, keeping fit, taking a lot of options into consideration. But when I heard Christina was making a comeback, that really motivated me to actually take that final step. I mean, she's basically the world's most overrated person." The former Playboy Playmate continued with one hand on her hip. "You've got big tits. Good for you. But that doesn't make you Emmy material. It's going to feel great knocking her off that big old pedestal. I mean, I knocked tougher chicks on their asses at the Lingerie Bowl. This isn't going to be any different."

"Now that I'm back, I'm realizing how much I missed it," said Christina Hendricks on the subject of her long absence from the ring. "I mean, my record is short, but I feel proud of it, especially taking into account the caliber of fighters I managed to take on. I'm looking forward to getting myself back on that level." On the subject of her upcoming fight, Hendricks was confident. "I'm happy to take what I can get at this point, but hopefully I'll be moving on to more prestigious opponents once I win this one," she commented with a smirk.

Hendricks entered the ring in maroon trunks and bra, while Ziering's similar attire was in gold.

Round 1:

Almost as soon as the bell rang, the action started. Both fighters came out swinging, seeming to go for the early win to the delight of the crowd. While Hendricks won an early exchange, punishing Ziering's missed attack with a right cross that made the model wince and momentarily retreat, the model was quick to rally. Covering herself and foiling Hendricks' followups, Ziering responded with a right to Hendricks' guts at close range, driving the wind from the actress and widening her eyes, and more importantly setting her up for a left uppercut that nearly took her off of her feet. Hendricks, hurting badly, decided to call off her attack, and the action settled down for the moment. Soon afterword, in a second exchange just before the bell, Hendricks went on the offense again, only to be beaten back with a solid blow to the eye for her trouble.

Round 2:

Seeming to have expended a bit too much of their supply of energy, both fighters took a more measured approach in the second round. Ziering, already looking out of breath, stuck to a safe distance, keeping the shorter actress at bay with while Hendricks covered herself and waited carefully. When she saw an opening, Hendricks' glove shot out before her opponent could react, striking her cheek and causing her to grimace as her head was flung sideways. Ziering's response was too slow, as Hendricks had already backed off. The round saw several similar exchanges, where Hendricks performed successful hit-and-runs on Ziering, the last of which left the battered model willing to do little but cover herself up and wait out the clock.

Round 3:

Hendricks exited her corner looking confident and moving to engage directly, while Ziering, her ability to fight noticeably lessened, seemed intent on avoiding another protracted exchange of punches that might spell her defeat. Unfortunately for the model, Hendricks managed to corner her early in the round, slipping around two desperate, flailing swings aimed at keeping her away, and landing a right hook on the side of her opponents head. Off balance and offering no defense, Ziering was suddenly easy prey for Hendricks, who instantly followed up with a left hand that smashed into the taller model's face. Ziering's fists fell to her sides, and Hendricks stepped back with a smirk as the model tipped forward, crashing to the mat on her face. Miraculously, Ziering beat the count, and was forced to endure her opponent pounding her fists together in anticipation of what would follow during her standing eight count. When the fight resumed, Ziering took Hendricks by surprise by going on the offensive, but after the shorter actress foiled Ziering's first strike, she swerved around the second and easily beat the model back. Ziering stayed on her feet, but had no offense left in her as the round ended.

Round 4:

Sensing the end of the fight drawing near, and seemingly irritated that things had even gone on for this long, Hendricks moved in, intent on finishing off the wounded Ziering. The model covered herself well enough as Hendricks thumped her fists against her guard, but in her dizzy state, Hendricks was able to sneak a blow through. It caught Ziering on the side of the head. Immediately, the model's legs went limp beneath her, and she crashed to the ground on her back, staring up at the sky and blinking in confusion. Again, Ziering barely beat the count, and though she was on her feet, the referee ended the fight, citing Zierings now terribly unstable footing, awarding Hendricks the win by TKO. Hendricks was left smiling proudly with her fists raised in the center of the ring, basking in the crowd's attention as her opponent collapsed on her stool in a daze.

Looking little worse for wear after her solid win, Hendricks briefly interrupted her celebrations with her stable to speak with the press. "I think she bit off more than she could chew this time," she said, adding "Though I don't expect my future fights to be this effortless, of course." Nikki Ziering could not be reached for comment.
