23 July 2014 Holly Madison vs Nicki Minaj

Page history last edited by anonononononononon 9 years, 8 months ago

Nicki Minaj seemed to be taking the pairing fairly seriously. "It's only natural that the Harajuku Barbie goes up against another barbie," she stated before the fight. "And Barbie has a lot of outfits, so she may seem like a lot of people, but in the end there's only one of her."

"So I looked her up," Holly Madison commented, "And I guess her entire history consists of getting knocked out by Kim K's ass. And since my fists are more dangerous than anyone's butt, I don't see her doing well." Madison added "If I'm nice, she might last to round three."

Minaj entered the ring in neon pink trunks, with a matching bra and gloves, contrasting with Madison, whose bra, trunks, and gloves were pale blue.

Round 1:

Both fighters came out of their corners confidently at the bell. Meeting at the center of the ring, Madison took early control of the fight, using her superior reach to keep Minaj at bay with repeated jabs. However, she dealt little damage, as Minaj parried the first volley and stayed out of range of the attacks that followed. After spending enough time in a stalemate that slightly favored Madison, Minaj took action. She charged in, absorbing Madison's surprised reaction punches with her guard. From her new position, Minaj was able to go on offense. After softening Madison up, she finally landed a left hook to the body that sent the model's torso sideways, her limbs following after a slight delay. Madison was able to recover and retreat, but she spent the remainder of the round in retreat covering her bruised ribs.

Round 2:

Having scored some big hits in the previous round, Minaj attempted to put a proven formula into action. After allowing Madison to spend some energy keeping her at bay, the rapper went on the offense again. This time, however, Madison was ready. Reacting quickly, she struck out with a straight right hand catching Minaj on the forehead and snapping her head back. She followed up with a left that glanced off of Minaj's glove, but nevertheless clipped the side of her head and forced her to recover her balance. With Minaj's momentum gone, Madison took the initiative, carefully backing her opponent up against the ropes before attacking conservatively. Though she failed to score any dramatic hits in her counter attack, Madison was in clear control as the round ended.

Round 3:

It seemed that the previous round had robbed Minaj of her preferred tactic. For the duration of the round, Madison forced her opponent around the ring. Minaj kept her guard intact, occasionally ineffectively attempting to counter. However, the odd shot landed with enough strength to throw the rapper off balance, even though Madison scored no clean head shots. At the end of the round, Madison looked well rested and perfectly capable of continuing without a break, while Minaj slumped on her stool panting.

Round 4:

Minaj left her corner looking reluctant, while Madison engaged quickly, clearly going for a repeat performance. With Nicki hardly out of her corner, Madison began to pound away at the defensive fighter opposite her. As she threw the final punch of a particularly violent Volley, Minaj weaved around it, causing a clean miss. Quick to capitalize, Minaj went ofter Madison while she was off balance, striking her firmly in the stomach at close range. As Madison tried to cover up, Minaj followed up with an uppercut landing under her chin. Madison toppled backwards with her arms windmilling, thudding against the canvas flat on her back. She was up by the count of five, glaring at her smug, relaxed opponent in the opposite corner during her standing eight count.

Round 5:

With Madison still looking wobbly, it was Minaj's turn to go on offense. Unable to land the hits that were keeping her defense afloat, Minaj punished the model for her wild swings, landing several big hits while taking only a few glancing blows in return. The round ended with Madison on the ropes, covering herself always a second too late as Minaj slammed her fists into whatever exposed body parts were available.

Round 6:

Minaj quickly went on offense again in the sixth round, slipping around a clumsy punch by her opponent to start another attack early on. However, she had trouble landing any good hits, as Madison seemed to have adapted and tightened up her own defenses. As one of Minaj's swings glanced off Madison's guard harmlessly, the model thrust out her gloved fist and struck the rapper in the nose, her head wobbling from the force of the blow. Madison followed up with a left hook that threw Minaj's head sideways, her ability to defend herself utterly destroyed. Trapped in a corner, Minaj took another brutal series of hits, knocking sweat off her face and repeatedly slamming her back into the turnbuckle. When the bell rang, Minaj swayed back to her corner unsteadily, obviously only upright on account of the round ending before Madison finished her off.

Round 7:

The weakened Minaj bravely wobbled out of her corner, obviously still shaken from the hits she had absorbed. Still more impressive was the way that she pushed herself into Madison's range with the intent of slugging it out. However, despite her best efforts, the rapper was unable to land any direct hits in her first salvo. Having weathered the storm, Madison was able to counter, throwing a straight left hand that, while clearly telegraphed, was enough to bounce off Minaj's face before she could react in her weakened state. Minaj, defeated, covered up, but kept up enough of an offense to keep Madison at a distance and preventing her from landing a knockout blow.

Round 8:

Though Minaj's footing seemed a bit more stable at the start of the eighth round, Madison was still clearly focused on earning herself a win before the end of the tenth round. Slamming her fists into her opponent's guard with audible thuds, the model slowly wore Minaj down. Only facing weak counterattacks, Madison was largely free to do as she pleased. Eventually, through sheer persistence, she snuck a fist through, solidly striking Minaj in the nose. The rapper was able to cover herself up before the full damage from the punch seemed to take effect, and shortly after she toppled forward, landing on her hands and knees. Miraculously, Minaj beat the count and was back on her feet, with Madison looking on incredulously. The remainder of the round saw Minaj barely hanging on, clearly hurt.

Round 9:

Clearly a bit frustrated by Minaj's resilience, Madison came out swinging, clashing with her opponent in the center of the ring. After a few punches stopped by Minaj's guard, the rapper went on the offensive as well. The two fighters exchanged wild punches at close range, with neither backing away from what could easily be the end of the fight. Fortunately for Minaj, she managed to slip around the first of Madison's strikes as she swung back herself, striking Madison on the cheek with a powerful right hand and knocking her head to the side and temporarily stopping her offense. Following up with her left, Minaj knocked Madison's head in the other direction and sent her stumbling backwards, driving her off in a clear rout. Madison, clearly confused by Minaj's recovery, refused to meet her head on for a second time, and ended the round backed into her own corner.

Round 10:

Obviously fully aware that she must be behind at this point, with little time left in the fight, Minaj went on the offensive early in the tenth round. With Madison similarly eager to finish things, the two boxers found themselves trading hits once again. Minaj clearly won the first exchange, weathering Madison's blows and answering with a conservative but effective series of attacks that forced the model to cover up. Now on defense, Madison waited, eventually rewarded as Minaj overextended herself. Madison was ready, and had a perfectly timed haymaker prepared. The blow struck Minaj's jaw, and her body went limp before she could even finish falling to the ground. As Madison celebrated her victory with her fists in the air, Minaj rose to a sitting position, shaking her head and barely making it to her feet before being counted out. After the referee allowed the fight to continue, Minaj came out swinging again, obviously still going for her high risk, high reward strategy. Obviously still dazed, Minaj utterly failed to connect with her attacks before walking straight into Madison's fist, collapsing again and not rising long after the end of the count, leaving Madison to prance around the center of the ring to the cheers of the crowd. A thorough KO10 for Holly Madison.

Even though she showed significant battle damage after the fight, Madison seemed to be in a good mood. "That girl needs to stick to what she's good at," she said to the press. "Which I guess is showing her ass in music videos. Leave fighting to the women that don't pass out at the first sign of trouble."

"The bitch can try again in a talent show if she likes," Minaj briefly commented before abruptly ending the interview.
