Edwina: Well what a night inside the ring, at times resembling a UFC ring with the amount of blood spattered. I am really excited about hearing our expert commentators comments on the evening. Kristy firstly to you, sum it up for us.

Kristy: Well the biggest talking point of the night, perhaps the last 3 months, has to be the resurrection of Natalie Bassingthwaighte. She has now recorded 4 big wins. Her win over McCutcheon, although not a quality opponent, came at a time when most doubted she could even beat her. To back that up with a KO6 over Dowding, who had beaten Nat’s adversary in Mel B, was a very impressive win. This came at a time when people were still suspicious about her ability. We then witnessed her annihilation of Ventoura, who is definitely no slouch, tearing her apart in a 10 round demolition. And now tonight she takes apart Emily Scott, the girl touted to be the next champ at Bantam, in another 10 round annihilation. Its a strong word but it is the only way to describe it. She is now poised to take on Miranda Kerr and before a contract has even been signed, early markets have her at very short odds to win the title. It’s an amazing story.

The other huge talking point for me is Lara Bingles attack on Naomi Watts. This will be heavily scrutinised in the coming days and I would expect to see the ACB hand down a pretty serious penalty for her assault after the result. Now the news on Naomi is she is in an induced coma, and has suffered severe facial injuries including a fractured cheekbone, broken jaw and broken nose as a result of that bare knuckle bashing. Lara is in serious trouble and I would expect she has just lost the respect of every fighter in the ACB.

Eddie: It’s certainly not the sort of incident we want to see or promote at this level. The only good point, if there was any, is that Lara actually performed quite well in the fight and had she let the comments go, she might have found herself earning some decent fights as a result.

Eddie: And how about you Sarah?

Sarah: Edwina, those two are the stand outs for me but Sarah has covered them off pretty well. A couple of upsets for me which will change the shape of the industry were Finch over Forscutt and Murdoch over Kruger. It was a topsy turvy night for Wildetime but they will come away from this happy that Finch gets a rematch for her title and they now have a better idea of who is in contention to fight Erika.

Eddie: Thanks Sarah. Yeah look it’s always hard going last, I agree with you both. Not sure that Natalie Bassingthwaighte should be so short in favouritism against an out and out champion like Miranda. But credit to her for turning things around like she has and I am glad I am a flyweight because I wouldn’t want to face her in her current form. Preliminary reports suggest Naomi is facing 9-10 weeks off in terms of the injuries. But when you talk about an induced coma, if this is reported correctly, then one suggests more severe brain injuries so that is not good. Lara could be facing a pretty long ban.

I would have to throw in Danni’s win as one of my favourite moments. Not necessarily the towel incident, but the way she fought through some stages in that fight that would have felt eerily similar to her last lost to Penny, that was a big effort. She is now a big chance to claim that elusive ACB Flyweight title then Penny claimed on its inception.

Kristy: Just on injuries, because as we said it was a bloody affair tonight. Penny Higgs – broken jaw, concussion; Watts severe facial injuries that are well document; Emily is nursing a couple of broken ribs; Tonkin – fractured eye socket, concussion; Forscutt concussion; and Kruger is nursing broken ribs. That’s a pretty brutal night in the ring, we don’t so that very often in the ACB.

Eddie: The doctors will certainly have their work cut out in the coming days.

Well for me, Natalie Bassingthwaighte takes all the awards tonight. An amazing effort by the 39 year old who now faces Miranda Kerr, the undefeated 32 year old supermum, for the coveted ACB title.

That’s all we have time for this evening. From all of us here at Fox Sports, good night.
