BBU MONDAY NIGHT BOXING FROM CARDIFF INTERNATIONAL ARENA

(GIRLS FRIDAY VS MARTI'S MAULERS)

Catherine Tyldesley thinks she deserves another chance against Australian opposition after her Ashes clash with Delta Goodrem went awry and indicates Delta is actually in the same class as BBU & ACB powerhouse Erika Heynatz which made her performance last October extremely praiseworthy especially in wake of subsequent trashing of Gemma Atkinson. Meanwhile Natalie Gumede looked pretty well against Christine Bleakley but Denise van Outen still thinks she'd be an upset winner over the buxom blonde even though she usually supports any girl capable of roughing her arch-nemesis Bleakley up.

Catherine Tyldesley wears a red basque top, white knickers and red gloves. Natalie Gumede wears a navy blue bikini set and black gloves.

Round 1:
Both girls hold nothing back and engage in a furious punchest from the bell that catches even Denise van Outen by surprise as the gloves repeatedly bounce off the cheeks and send both heads snapping backwards. Classic war of attrition with Catherine trying to establish the superiority in full flourish as she lands the heavier blows and forces Natalie back after the minute mark. Gumede accepted this tactics but never expected such raw power from the blonde and that's a crucial mistake as Tyldesley gives her an early swelling with both cheeks lumping up in a hurry even though a couple of hooks on the temple miss the target and prevent Natalie from going down. Still Catherine keeps the high intensity well into the final minute and simply backs Gumede into the ropes, forces her to cover up and reverts to bodu assault in the remaining seconds; Natalie can't live with the frantic pace all the way through and sags on her knees as Tyldesley wrenches her ribcage with a cheeky smile on her face.

Round 2:
That opening round was enough for Natalie to think better of it and she stays back at the start of the second, does well to avoid the blonde's punches thanks to some quick footwork but struggles to maintain her stance down the stretch and Tyldesley reaches out after her with single hand approach, flicks a series on the chest and closes the distance to find more leather on the body. Natalie fires back over the top but makes no impression on the blonde's head who whips more wrenching jabs on the ribcage to slow the brunette down. Another series of jabs throws an aching Gumede onto the ropes and Catherine just cleans out her midsection afterwards, leaves the brunette sagging on her knees at the bell again and just gasping for air already.

Round 3:
Natalie fails to handle Catherine's attacks well and can't match the pace of the fight as the blonde whips more shots on the body before switching upstairs and bouncing off the brunette's jaw. Gumede gets trapped in close range and endures more blows to the chest, tries to clinch herself out of trouble but Tyldesley is plain stronger and shrugs her off onto the ropes, sends an immediate overhand on the eye and whips Natalie against the turnbuckle. She moves in on the brunette and tees off on the jaw, shatters the guard on the spot and starts snapping Gumede's head back at will, poor brunette just squeals in disarray and sinks on her knees as Catherine pauses briefly and blasts a right hook on the cheek which spins her foe around and Gumede is lucky enough for the bell to come to the rescue moments later.

Round 4:
Catherine wants to resume the brunette punishment as soon as possible and she easily dwarfs Natalie's footwork and starts pumping more leather on the head, slices the guard at will and it just indicates the increased level of oppositon Gumede has to face tonight. A spiking series on the cheeks leaves her badly swollen but she still mounts a spirited comeback and pierces Tyldesley's arms to connect with her rack. Huge right hand on the temple halts her charge though and there's more blonde venom coming up as she nails Gumede on the other temple moments later TO SEND HER CRASHING DOWN ONTO HER KNEES... Raw blonde power on display in Cardiff and Natalie finally goes down and shakes her head as she beats the count at seven but doesn't look all that convincing according to van Outen... Catherine resumes her attacks and slices the mitts again, bounces off the swollen cheeks and snaps the brunette's head back, reels her back to the ropes and Gumede struggles to raise her arms as Tyldesley just pounds her face into jelly, whips her against the ropes before teeing off for another hook on the temple... Gumede never saw that coming and spins around to the side as her knees just give way moments later AND SEND HER CRASHING FACE-FIRST ONTO THE CANVAS... It's all over! She cannot beat the count and is left motionless on the floor... KO4 Catherine Tyldesley!!!

AFTER: Catherine made a vicious statement tonight against an otherwise demanding opponent and perhaps she really deserves another ACB chance in the foreseeable future. She dwells over the fallen Gumede and refuses to let go of the post-fight antics, drags her back upright and enjoys all the facial swelling as Natalie indicates she's too dizzy to accept any further punishment but that makes no difference to the blonde who sends her for a classic Walk of Shame as the Cardiff crowd applauds the effort.

Catherine completes three cycles of the ring before shoving her opponent on her knees and allowing her to crawl back towards her stool but Natalie collapses back on her face before she reaches the target and needs to be carried off by the medics instead. Meanwhile the blonde shouts back to the crowd she wants a rematch with Delta Goodrem and now Denise van Outen must question that call since Gumede was just a good warm-up for the summer and not exactly Delta standard. But who will argue with Tyldesley tonight? Perhaps that's what Goodrem needs before her long-awaited second bite of the Heynatz cherry. Rematch breaths rematch?
