There's a slight surprise among the Cardiff audience that Gemma Merna accepted this fight so quickly after getting thoroughly worked over by Kara Tointon but as Denise van Outen indicates, the former BBU flyweight champion makes a solid claim for the top TV actress billing and is on a personal mission against Samia Ghadie and Michelle Keegan, the ultimate pin-up girls of the lot. The only problem is, Merna has lost both her fights vs Front Street Japan opposition to date but one doesn't call it third time lucky without a reason! And the demand for Gemma's buxom presence in the ring really gathers storm which makes her vicious duells against Kara Tointon a new talk of the town!

While Merna stole most of the pre-fight headlines there's a persisting rumour that Haruna Yabuki is probably the most underrated of FSJ flyweights and desperately unlucky to play second fiddle to stablemate Mikie Hara, the current empress of the division. It's been a while since an internal stable affair decided any of the BBU straps but Yabuki might vault herself in the pecking order with a swift punishment of the English blonde tonight and Denise van Outen hasn't forgotten about her heart-breaking loss to Sarah Carter which she calls one of the biggest robberies ever seen under BBU rules.

Gemma Merna wears a red bikini set leaving nothing to the imagination and black gloves. Haruna Yabuki wears a lacy black bikini and white gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Gemma's been active more frequently as of late and it shows in the opening minute as Haruna sits back and tries to settle into the fight but gets no time at all in wake of a frenzy of blonde leather. Gemma swings around the head and makes fine connection, pummels the Asian's cheeks but doesn't really bend her neck much and Haruna proves a tough little nut to crack. She avoids getting pummelled around the ring despite Merna slipping by with more facial leather and mounts a late response, nails her foe with a combo on the jaw but falls into a spiking series on the chest and Gemma goes on from there, targets the temples but drops into a swift response on the ribcage and it's a frantic punchfest at the bell with Yabuki getting the last laugh as she scythes the blonde across the mouth.

Round 2:
Gemma did't like that last rally and tries to stay in mid distance but Haruna got lectured about the Miki Hara path to glory and Denise van Outen realizes it's the artistic impression that goes with the actual result that matters for the Asian visitors. Haruna shows superior footwork and agility and closes the busty English girl down with ease, starts romping into her guts exposing a fragile low guard. Merna tries to respond, crashes off the forearms before a clubbing left/right combo nails her on the temple and spins back to the turnbuckle where Yabuki unloads more ribcage assault, forces Merna to drop her guard and swiftly targets the head thereafter, gives Gemma a solid neck crank and a couple of lumps as the facial attack meets no resistance and renders the former champ into quite a subdued figure at the bell.

Round 3:
Haruna's a real improvement over Kara Tointon and she enforces a close range exchange again; Gemma's too slow in execution and lacks precision to bother the proud brunette, gets nailed over the top and allows her to dominate the opening minute, retreats back to the ropes and Haruna just keeps laying into her guts down the stretch. Merna falls onto the ropes and must fight from behind the guard, soaks up more ribcage punishment but finds a classic shot from the hip - if not literally - as she clobbers Yabuki's nose with a heavy combo, snaps the Japanese girl's head back and makes her moan for the first time tonight, springs back into a vicious follow up and walks Haruna towards the center of the ring but a subsequent flurry of leather gives the Asian a slight advantage as she adds more lumps to Gemma's face having sliced her guard more effectively.

Round 4:
Free-for-all attack begins the fourth round and it's a classic no-prisoner flyweight brawl in Cardiff - exactly what the BBU fans want to see - Gemma's lack of precision undoes all her efforts and Haruna makes her pay, finds a straight jabbing combo on the jaw and staggers the blonde in the middle of the ring before unloading another ribcage assault, trying to pierce the liver area in the proccess. Merna tries to step back in wake of that barrage but loses her footing and allows the brunette to find her cheeks with more jabbing menace, a series of close range leather catches the English girl on the nose too and she's too slow to raise her arms again, gets pushed back to the opposite side of the ring and falls onto the ropes with Haruna going all-in on the head and splitting the gloves with ease. Gemma just sags back on the ropes and reverts into ominious shrieks as Yabuki leaves her cheeks heavily swollen with an ultra precise jabbing series at the bell.

Round 5:
Denise van Outen's impressed with Haruna's performance thus far, she avoided punishing Gemma's rack which was the obvious target but still managed to hurt the blonde through twelve minutes and the otherwise proud Hollyoaks actress is really slow to get up for the fifth round and falls into another early barrage of relentless Japanese leather. This time Yabuki blasts a left/right combo on the nose that drops Merna's mitts and wobbles her forward; quick feet from the Asian enable her to slip by and avoid a clinch and she whacks her foe on the navel to remove the breath from her lungs. Gemma raises her head again just in time to find her stance but another clubbing left hook catches her on the nose and results in blood marking Yabuki's white gloves. Gemma realizes her nose is busted up and pauses for another cruel moment as Haruna just adds more venom into her shots and pounds the ribcage to stagger the hapless looking blonde for good, a series of blows on the tummy rock Merna from side to side before another shot on the navel makes her squeal in disarray. A flurry of leather follows and nails poor Gemma on the face with her guard nowhere to be seen... a series of five punches no less results in more blood coming from the wounded nose but more importantly SENDS THE ENGLISH GIRL SPAWLING ONTO HER BACKSIDE... Merna's down on all fours by the time count reaches six and has enormous difficulties in getting back upright.. she's eventually up at nine but with all the blood pouring from her nose she looks anything but OK; wobbles back to the turnbuckle and quite frankly can't regain her composure at all... REF CALLS IT OFF and orders the medics to step in and save day... in fact Gemma's too dizzy to even argue with the stoppage... TKO5 Haruna Yabuki!!!

AFTER: That was exceptionally impressive from the Asian girl who might not have a single punch destruction like Mikie Hara in her but the ammount of leather eventually shattered Gemma Merna to pieces and left her in a terrible physical shape. And all this after a lenghty period on the sidelines! The Lookout! executives argue that Gemma was still hurting from the Kara Tointon disaster but that's a lame excuse according to Denise van Outen.

And it only gets worse for the proud blonde who can't walk straight towards her corner, the medics also take their time to escort her and get jumped by Haruna Yabuki who had her gloves removed already and grabs her shoulders from behind sending down on all fours with a swift hip toss in the proccess. The FSJ entourage suddenly pulls a black leather belt and throws it to Haruna who looks more animated than ever before on the night and shouts some words in native language before spanking Gemma's bums much to the crowd's delight. Poor blonde just slumps on her elbows and starts screaming in pain, forces BBU TV to hit the commercial button since Haruna threatens to enter the BSDM range and that's not approved by the organization yet. Ouch!
