It's not exactly back to the drawing board time for former bantamweight champion Charlotte Church but the life after losing her crown to Rosie Jones has to start somewhere against someone and Gabriella Cilmi is the first opponent to keep the Welsh blonde in shape. And what better place to do it than Cardiff International Arena where the rampant crowd wants to see their favorite teach the impressive brunette singer a hard lesson of celebrity boxing.

Meanwhile Gabriella follows the same pattern which saw her clash with Una Healy back in March, a former divisional champ on the rocks and seemingly poised to become a massive scalp and confidence boost for the Aussie singer. The problem is, Healy clawed a tight decision to spoil Cilmi's plans and Denise van Outen thinks Charlotte will do likewise even in wake of her rough title encounter vs Rosie Jones. But the Cilmi upset is trending on twitter and perhaps some fans know better than the BBU TV lead reporter?

Charlotte Church wears a white bikini top, green leather skirt and red gloves. Once again, the Welsh dragon is painted on her cheeks to complete the firey attire and the crowd obviously love their girl! Gabrielle Cilmi wears an all black set, sports bra with leather skirt and golden gloves to add some glamour. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Cilmi silences the crowd early with ultra confident jabbing to push Church onto the back foot and soaking up unexpected punishment. A series of jabs breaks through the guard and connects with the face, sends Charlotte's head snapping back & forth and the ex-champ can't stretch her elbows at all, falls into more menacing leather as Gabriella barks in delight and leans on the blonde again, pumping her mitts right on target. The Cardiff audience is shell-shocked and Kimberley Walsh's screams from the front row are well heard and finally spring Church into some action in the final minute. Cilmi bashed her to the ropes by this stage but suddenly eats an overhand left on the nose and wobbles to the side, Church digs into her experience and throws another series on the head, misses the initial target but at least halts the flood and then beats the brunette for another overhand right at the bell to spin her to the side in worrying fashion.

Round 2:
Denise van Outen's unsure about Charlotte's confidence but that late flurry looked promising enough to warrant a swift comeback; Gabriella has other ideas though and finds a left hok on the eye, rocks the head again and mounts a follow up to the body but gets blocked off as Church leans on her and throws quick leather on the ribcage herself. Cilmi tries to brawl back but can't find the flesh again and bounces off the forearms as Church stuns her with a right hook on the jaw and staggers backwards. Finally there's some pace in the blonde's performance and she whacks the Aussie repeatedly on the body to slow her charge and force onto the back foot for good in the final minute. Cilmi flicks a couple of hooks on the cheeks but eats twice as much in response and wobbles worryingly to the side again; Charlotte maintains the punch & run attitude, lands a couple of late flurries to the body again and has the brunette wincing in pain at the bell.

Round 3:
Charlotte has finally settled in this fight and there are no question marks over her confidence anymore as she slams a hooking series on the body to stagger the Aussie youngster before a swift left/right combo nails her on the eye and wobbles back to the ropes. Cilmi turns on the survival mode and tries to stay away from close range, can't quite find the speed though and eats single hand approach before losing her feet in a frantic tangle, a huge left hook clobbers her on the temple and sends spinning against the turnbuckle as the Welsh girl pours on with a flurry of jabs on the head, slices the mitts apart and thumps the cheeks in repeated fashion. Gabriella's arms drop lower and lower and she can only moan in a sudden disarray as Church whips another combo on the brow ridge to close the brunette's eyes, adds a clubbing hook to the liver and a right uppercut on the jaw WHICH SENDS THE AUSSIE SINGER CRASHING ONTO HER BACKSIDE.. that's vintage Charlotte alright and Cilmi's extremely lucky to beat the count at eight, looking very much second-handed now. She remains trapped on the ropes for remainder of the round as the Welsh nemesis throws more leather on the body and finds the temples again but simply runs out of time to complete the destruction.

Round 4:
Gabriella's been totally overwhelmed by that knockdown and shows no signs of recovery as Church digs into her chest for the first time and sends the mounds for a quick ride early in the fourth. Aussie girls just covers up and offers weak single hand response as Church shatters the guard with a series of uppercuts and punishes Cilmi's breasts in the best JMD fashion to leave her butt-in-ropes and desperately gasping for air. But the worst only comes next as she switches up on the jaw and snaps the brunette's head back with a rain of uppercuts, just no resistance whatsoever from the younger singer who bellows out in semi-consciousness by the half-distance mark yet Church gives her no respite and adds a couple of cuts on the jaw, Cilmi's dark hair flies in every direction possible as she gets pummelled to the orbit and drops her arms for the very last time when Charlotte's uppercut count reaches twelve... CILMI GOES DOWN FACE-FIRST ON THE CANVAS and in fact she's been knocked out cold by an exceptionally vicious Welsh blonde... KO4 Charlotte Church!!!

AFTER: There are no post-fight antics from the winner this time as Gabriella Cilmi truly got the shortest end of the stick tonight and is carried away on a stretcher before the announcer even raises the blonde's arm. But the plot thickens during the interview as Charlotte announces she's accepted an offer from the undefeated Leah Dizon and thinks she's ready to mix it with the elite fighters again: "Gabriella was just a nice little rehearsal, she's got some talent and I just wanted to prove myself after that Jones horror show. I must say I think that Leah Dizon is actually a better fighter than Rosie but her management has too many eggs to put in one basket and she suffered from that. And let's be honest here, I'm looking to stay in the title picture no matter what. Rosie and Sacha Parkinson might think they've got me out of the way but once I beat Dizon, they will realize how deluded they are!"
