Main Event
This is a rematch from last year. Neither lady having the success they have been wanting in the Bantamweight Division. "I'm coming off my only fight of the year. It was a victory but I have a lot more work to do. It's every girl's dream in Medallion to win a championship and my time is coming." Piper says during the prefight press event. "I beat Troian once and I'll be doing it again." Troian responded. "I'm coming off a loss that just means I'm going to put more into this fight. The Medallion Girls have a tendency to go on runs good and bad. I'll be starting a bad one for Piper." Piper in a multicolored string bikini with red gloves. Troian in a black bra style bikini black gloves. Both ladies have their hair pulled back in fighting ponytails.
R1: Troian comes out motivated. Controlling the action with her jab keeping Piper mostly at bay. When the shorter blonde does get inside she's able to work away to the body but it doesn't happen often. The brunette controls the action heading back to her corner having frustrated Piper in the first.
R2: Troian comes out in the second like a house of fire using her jab and combinations to quickly put Piper off balance. Piper tries to slide away but continues to get pushed back. Finally the blonde firms up her stance countering Troian's jab and slipping inside some. It is another impressive round for the younger brunette.
R3: Cue the comeback. Piper comes out of her corner on a mission a look of determination on her face. The counters to Troian's jab come easier and the brunette takes a turn being driven backwards with hard shots to the body. Piper muscles the taller beauty back ripping shots to her body and her head. Troian fires back but just enough to keep from really getting in trouble. The blonde pounds away to the bell then struts away showing she's in this fight.
R4: The round or the cocky strut at the end must have upset Troian because her lead jab controlling strategy goes out the window. She meets Piper in the middle of the ring and the two start pounding away at each other. The two don't move away from each other or the center of the ring for the full round. Toward the end Troian starts getting rock going wobbly-butt but standing her ground taking the punishment and still firing back some. At the bell, Piper's got a smile on her face as she struts away again to her corner being all tough girl to the slimmer built Troian.
R5: There is some good work from Troian's corner calming down and getting her refocused. She comes out back to the lead jab adding hooks to the head. It looks like more of what is happening in the first two rounds until a right hand gets though. It rocks Piper back on her heels and it's her turn to go wobbly butt. Troian goes for it firing away. Piper keeps countering staying on her feet the two now staying toe to toe. Even though the round ends at a stand still this time Troian struts away from Piper who walks back to her corner eyes blinking.
R6: Troian comes out hard leading with her jab and finding that hard right hand to the head. The brunette starts pounding away backing Piper up until a counter right hook connects with Troian's jaw. The brunette staggers back and down to her butt after a combination to the head. Piper steps back collecting herself during the count. Troian gets to her feet dazed but is determined to continue. The brunette can't get away from the ropes though as Piper pounces pounding away to the body and face. Troian is rocked hard but continues to fight back to the bell. This time Piper stomps away after going all big girl on Trioan.
R7: Troian's corner does it's job again. The brunette comes out of the corner still not completely right but is back to plan. Piper eats jabs and combinations again. She is a bit of shock from where this is coming from getting pushed back to the ropes. Troian doesn't jump in the way she did before. She's stays outside pounding on Piper control the whole round. After the bell sounds the blonde is just standing their mouth open at this display Troian just put on.
R8: Next round same as the last. Troian using her reach popping away at Piper keeping her on the ropes controlling the action until she gets caught. Troian reaching a bit too far gets blasted to the chin with a left uppercut followed by a right to the belly. The brunette doubles over which is Piper's cue. She tees off on Troian's mid sections her butt still on the ropes until the brunette drops to all fours. Troian gets to her feet to end the round. Piper stealing a dominating round from Troian.
R9: Piper smells blood jumping on Troian right at the bell. The entire round is the blonde pounding Troian to the body and ribs testing the brunette's stamina. She opens it up to the face firing off hooks and jabs of her own. Troian is completely dazed and out of sorts but will not go down becoming a human punching bag. The round ends Piper stomping off again dominate but angry she can't finish. Troian staggering back to her corner many wondering if she'll come out for the tenth.
R10: Piper comes out slower for the final round trying to use her own jab keeping distance. It seems like she might be tired from all the work the last round. Working smart isn't the best idea as Troian finds an opening and two thunderous punches to the chin drops Piper to her butt blinking and nearly out. The blonde is able to get to her feet but doesn't get much farther as Troian is all over her. Piper fighting butt on the ropes trying to cover up her head. Towards the end of the round Piper scores a hard right to Troian's belly turning the tide and the brunette's back to the ropes. It's an impressive recovery as she puts leather to Troian's abs until the bell. Troian makes it scary here in the final round, but Piper Perabo wins via UD10!
Post fight Piper goes over giving a friendly hug to Troian as the brunette winces from her sore midsection. "It was a good fight and she's a tough girl. Troi had a good plan using her height but when I got inside I knew I could rock her. I got over my skis there at the end. You got to keep fighting your fight. It's a great win and I'm moving on to bigger fights." An impressive display of close in strong girl fighting from Piper raising her stock for future fights.
“I really thought I could beat her this time,” Troi admits in her post-fight comments, “but she turned me back again. I know I can beat her, but I won’t deny she won this time, too. I do appreciate the hug—it’s something I’m not used to around here. Now, don’t any of you think I’m going soft! I’m still as tough as ever, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be polite!” |
