Mollie King is back in action after an upset loss to Victoria Justice back in May and she's been offered a challenge from BBU newcomer, the voluptous Romanian singer Inna who's been linked with Jeanette Biedermann before but had the German turn her down at the very last moment. Since Sandy Moelling was in no mood to interrupt her holidays on Barbados, Mollie was glad to accept the challenge and make up for the Justice disaster which greatly dropped her stock in recent weeks. In fact, the entire Saturdays contingent has gone fairly quiet as of late, Frankie Sandford remains MIA, Rochelle Humes still awaits how the lightweight title picture shapes out while Vanessa White has gone into hiding after getting knocked out by Jade Thirlwall last month. Una Healy will support Mollie's bid later on the night but Denise van Outen believes it's the blonde flyweight with a golden opportunity to turn the band's fortunes around and Healy might be up for another rough evening instead.

Inna has apparently set out to destroy all the blonde singers at the start of her BBU career but she's a complete mystery to the whole Cardiff audience and even Denise van Outen herself. Rumours have linked her to a training camp back in Italy where Cristina Scabbia used her as a personal punchbag for a while but that's about it.

Mollie King wears a floral, yellow & green bikini top, yellow knickers and black gloves. Inna wears a navy blue bikini set and white gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Mollie tries to spooke the newcomer early and jumps at her straight from the bell, throws a flurry of leather on the head but misses her target badly and fails to trouble the guard as Inna weaves around in avoidance before mounting a response over the top. She flicks a couple of hooks on the temples before closing right in and digging around the blonde's elbows. Mollie gets whacked on the ribs but finally finds an opening herself and uppercuts the brunette's chin, follows up with a clean left hook on the brow ridge and wobbles the fellow singer. She tries to add more pressure but gets clinched and then smacked by a lurid hook that gives her an early cut under the right eye. Mollie's happy to accept the clinch as both girls wrestle in the middle of the ring in the dying seconds with ref taking no action.

Round 2:
Mollie's really upset over that shiner Inna gave her with a single punch and jumps into another furious charge, cross hooks the guard well this time and pummels the brunette's cheeks. Inna switches to a low response and batters King's ribcage to stagger her in the middle of the ring before sending uppercuts on the rack. Mollie winces in pain but still nails the Romanian girl on the nose with a massive hook herself, snaps Inna's head to the side and makes her moan as both girls duke it out in close range thereafter, Inna punishes Mollie's ribs and bends her foward, eats a spiking hook on the eye to lose her aggression though and it's another clinch which ends the round.

Round 3:
Inna finally works on the blonde's cut under the right eye and drops the midsection assault, she can't quite find her target though as King responds with a facial attack herself, splits the mitts again and nails the raven-haired singer with an uppercut on the jaw, throws one over the top but only grazes the temple and falls into an uppercut counter on the boobs. Inna works furiously from both sides in close range and makes the blonde moan, ravages the cleavage surprisingly well for a rookie and forces the English girl back in avoidance. A belting hook still nails Mollie on the nose and wobbles her to the side but Inna rushes her approach and clatters into the blonde sending her down on the canvas in accidental fashion. Ref breaks the fight and Mollie's happy to jumps away to safety as the brunette can't quite chase her down afterwards.

Round 4:
Mollie looked spooked by that chest assault rather than chasing the rookie brunette around but it's a fresh start in the fourth and the blonde beats her opponent for an overhand jabbing combo on the head, splits Inna's mitts and wrenches her neck to the side with her biggest punching display on the night. Inna yelps in discomfort and loses her footing, enables King to pierce her guard with more uppercuts on the chin as the blonde barks in delight and determination, pummels the raven-haired singer back to the ropes where she snaps her head one more time before drilling the midsection. Inna tries to clinch her but eats a cross hook on the mouth and whips back against the ropes, comes down for a left hook on the temple AND HITS THE CANVAS moments later. Mollie's relentless assault gives her the breakthrough but the newcomer rises to her feet at six and shouts back at her in native language. King leans on her though and seeks further punishment, splits the mitts aside and just bats away at the brunette's cheeks, leaves reddish patches on the otherwise dark skin and sags Inna on her knees, closes her eyes with a left/right hooking combo on the temples and looks annoyed she couldn't send her down again.

Round 5:
Inna's a little woozy after that terrible round but shows impressive fighting spirit as she tangles with Mollie in the middle of the ring and wrenches her ribcage to assume control; King looked like she had the brunette in trouble and never expected a comeback so early, tries to clinch the rampant Romanian but finds the belly punching too much and has to jump back in avoidance, Inna reaches out after her with more flying hooks, has the blonde ducking and weaving before any response. Mollie's cross hook skims off the guard and enables the older singer to catch her against the cleavage, further uppercuts slice the mitts apart and bounce off the blonde's chin. Mollie sways around onto the ropes, fails to react in time for a straight jabbing set up and gets pinned on the ropes as Inna pulverizes her rack and leaves gasping for air at the bell to complete the turnaround.

Round 6:
Both girls tangle in the middle of the ring again and Inna seeks more punishment of the blonde's rack; Mollie drives low herself and spikes the ribcage but falls into an uppercut series and has to yield real estate. Inna's chase proves too chaotic and makes her dangerously wobble forward as King flies with a counter hook on the temple and bends her to the side. A flurry of leather slices the brunette's mitts and bounce off her nose, Mollie nails her on the temple as well to close Inna's eyes and switch into pounding away at the chest. Inna's staggered by that assault and tries to clinch the English girl but gets whacked on the chin with her guard falling apart; subsequent jabbing series on the nose causes a small bleeding and that's clearly not what the Romanian expected but Mollie just buries her mitts in her face and throws back on the turnbuckle, runs out of time to really punish her though however Inna looks uneasy with her nose taking few punches too many.

Round 7:
Inna drops her aggressive approach a bit; her face looks more battered of the two even though the cut on Mollie's right cheek looks nasty. However the rookie failed to open that wound properly as a more experienced fighter would do and now King doesn't seem bothered by it and keeps pumping leather into Inna's chest. Brunette keeps the earmuff tight but has problems down low and Mollie staggers her again with a series on the navel, bends her to the side and pierces the liver area to make the Romanian gasp for air. The ammount of blonde leather slowly but surely starts to break the brunette down for good and she refuses to engage in any brawling, allows King to thump her back to the ropes and clean out her breadbasket with visible fitness issues bothering her plenty. Mollie uppercuts the rack late in the round as Inna's arms can't stay high enough anymore but the bell saves her from more misery again. King gives her a long look and Inna pretty much stumbles back to her corner struggling to breathe and the cutmen have their hands full to stop the nasal bleeding.

Round 8:
Inna looks really roughed up and tired now which only fuels the blonde's desire to knock her out proper. Mollie traps the Romanian cold with a quick series on the cheeks, slices the mitts at will and wrenches her boobs thereafter. Inna gasps for air and gets easily blocked off with her jabbing on the head, gets nailed on the temple with another quick hook and bends to the side dropping her arms... King pours in with chest assault, thumps the brunette's boobs against her cheeks and makes the girl scream in pain, another swift hook on the temple finally removes the last ounce of resistance AND SENDS THE BRUNETTE DOWN ON HER KNEES... Mollie breaths heavily herself as she's really put a lot in punching the Romanian flat and watches on as Inna tries to beat the count... she does so at eight and annoys the English singer on the spot, Mollie just kicks out in frustration but jumps at the aching and cumbersome brunette one more time, snaps her head back with a vicious straight jab that met no defence at all and throws a series of blows on the head with Inna's arms just dropping to the side and offering zero protection. Mollie pounds her back to the ropes and connects with the chin to close her eyes, slams one final hook on the nose to open the bleeding again and has the Romanian semi-conscious now... REF CHARGES IN and prevents the gore scenario... he embraces the battered brunette who's completely numb and on the verge of getting knocked out of her senses... Blonde looks simply relieved it's finally over but she really had to earn that stoppage tonight... TKO8 Mollie King!!!

AFTER: Inna's escorted back to her corner having taken all the punishment she could but that was still a feisty little performance from the 28 year old Romanian which kept the opposite Saturdays' entourage on their toes for a long while. Mollie's experience and superior conditioning eventually swung the contest in her favor but with few more fights under her belt, Inna could have well and truly knock her stupid instead.

Relief is Mollie's name of the game as she nods back to her corner people and doesn't look all that overjoyed with almost a default victory against a complete newcomer. Will that fight turn the Saturdays' fortunes around? Denise van Outen doesn't think so as Mollie failed to really impress her tonight and isn't destined to set the world on fire anytime soon.
