Before: Warren enters the favourite for the first time in her career—big blonde getting noticed for her athleticism and hard punching in building a substantial record against welter stalwarts. “I’m not overly familiar with her,” says Zeta Jones of Warren, “but she’s been very busy for a tall fighter, without sacrificing too much on the right hand. Katherine looks sluggish and heavy to me. And that HAIR! Good Lord Heigl what have you done? Can you believe the woman once had the temerity to challenge me?” Estella in tan one piece, Heigl in dark brown one piece dance leotard, tight baby doll sleeves and unforgivable short-chopped brown do.

During R1: Warren out low, jabbing up at Heigl, working the waist with biting rips from either hand, then standing up into sudden hooks, Katherine beaten pillar to post, looking windblown and amazed as Warren beat her drowsy. Estella landing a particularly vicious hook late to send Heigl stomping back delirious on her heels, Shutout Warren.

R2: Shutout Warren, Blonde too bust, too quick, and too hard hitting—Heigl reeling, covering up and getting hammered all around the ring in one long, desperate retreat. Body shots are crippling Katherine—Estella with snap in her fists off Kathy’s gut, then watch as Heigl’s hands come down, Kathy taking a deep, hurting breath and mincing away as Warren walks her down.

R3: Shutout Warren and one of the most devastating power punching performances of the year. Estella hounding Kathy early, slashing at the soft underbelly, Heigl pouting, giving ground and she is NAILED at the minute mark as Warren dives in behind a zesty right hand to spill Kathy to the ropes. Punishing consolidation—Warren squaring away and letting her hands go—lethal lashing lefts and rights cascading off a besieged Katherine Heigl as the brunette is battered along the perimeter to a corner. End of the second minute, Estella bangs away at Heigl’s guard, ringing the brunette’s ears, then drifts in a crashing right on the teeth that drops Kathy to all fours. Warren strutting away as Heigl takes a shellshocked 8—All Warren to the bell as she palms up, delivers haymakers to the breadbasket without fear of reprisal. Heigl’s a groaning wreck after 3, refuses to quit as her corner asks her about throwing in the towel.

R4: Shutout string ends, but it’s another one sided Warren round as the blonde gets after her opponent, chopping her up all around the ring with heartless, Doberman Pinscher style pursuit. Heigl all swollen up under Warren’s breasts as the blonde stands toe to toe at the bell.

R5: Heigl fighting ins spots—she’s covering up, getting pelted and buffeted, but standing in the pocket and fitting her right hand into Warren’s ribcage whenever possible, Estella still too busy, getting low for a tall girls, stiff-arming the jab to drive Heigl  to the ropes, and really torqueing into the big brunette with shattering hooks and crosses. Kathy showing a stubborn streak thus far—she’s taken a tremendous beating and she’s still there.

R6: GOOD body shots early from HeigL—right hands digging in under the left tit—Estella finally forced to step out and take a ragged breath, blonde backing up for the first time in the fight, Kathy groggily walking her girl down, measuring her with a pawing jab, then plowing in behind straight right hands to the chest—brunette rams blonde to the ropes, then bodies up, now working with underhand rights to scoop at the ribs. Warren propped up straight, not as effective when she can’t bend her legs and advance on her foe.

R7: Warren with a big right hand early, clocks Heigl over the top and has the brunette leaning dreamily put over her feet—still Kathy won’t go. Nice outside work from Estella as she lowers the tempo, steps to the right behind a spearing jab and leans in behind lancing right crosses this round, Boozy Heigl sleepwalking at times, but still managing to get her touches home—just working the Warren ribcage, hoping for dividends down the stretch.

R8: Shutout Warren. Estella relentless, always up tempo, stiff with her jab, biting with her body shots and really setting down on hooks and crosses upstairs, Katherine on her heels, melting around the ring, unable to hold ground or come forward and so utterly ineffective. Rounds ends to the sight of Warren helping herself to Heigl’s heavy breasts—just lifting the sacks up with pumping strokes as Kathy sags against the ropes in stupor.

R9: Estella backhanding the jab off her hip. Leaning away onto he right foot, then shifting in on her left foot as Heigl droops forward, palms out to try and push up on her tormentress. Estella leans away to pull a nifty hook across Heigl’s temple—Kathy swooning over her feet and Warren drops in a drilling right against the jaw, rolling Heigl to her back, arms above her head as she soaks up the hardest punch of the fight. Warren amazed to see Heigl pull herself together  to take a hurting 8 and it’s KATHERINE who comes off the ropes slugging! Warren looking a little weary after setting tremendous pace in this fight—Heigl able to walk the blonde down, lean in behind gorgeous straight right hands to the heart ass Warren wilts to the ropes. Kathy having a nice final 30 seconds or so—Estella covered up, turning her shoulders to absorb Heigl’s ponderous leather on her obliques—Warren flushed and wincing slightly at the bell.

R10: Estella definitely fatigued—she’ stepping away behind a don’t-hurt-me jab, trying to leg out the round and Heigl won’t have it, Katherine finally able to come forward with authority, shaving chin with overhand rights and come-back lefts. End of the first minute, Kathy’s aggression has Estella backing straight up—blonde leaning away from a grazing Heigl right, but the follow up hook gets ALL of Warren’s chin! Estella ragdolling to the ropes, hands at her eyebrows as she digs in. Katherine Heigl jamming her head in between Estella’s mitts and she POUNDS away at the flanks and waist—Warren cupping her mitts around Kathy’s ears, just trying to control the brunette, pulling the girl’s head in close to smother the attack. Bell to bell beat down administered by Heigl—Warren hurting, relieved at the bell. Comes back UD10 by wide margin Estella Warren.

After: Valuable lesson in pacing learned by Warren tonight--she went haywire on Heigl, couldn’t take her out and nearly folded in a dicey final round. Too little too late for Katherine and she’s badly beaten in this fight—Heigl taking too many punches, not being busy enough—some pundits worrying that the kid might be getting ring-worn very early in her career from the sheer punishment she’s been absorbing. Warren sitting very pretty at welterweight with this win.
