Katie Cassidy (Unmanaged) versus Olivia Wilde (Bazz Fight Club)
(Words: Bazz / Results: Lookout!)

Before: “Don’t get me wrong. She’s good but everyone knows that at Bazz it’s Michalka. Livie’s going to be a good step for me ‘cause I plan on being a known commodity by year end. A girl’s got to have a ‘to do’ list.” Katie Cassidy states as if she’s fighting no more than a punching bag.
“Well I’m thankful that I’m at least still eligible for any of the supporting actress awards.” Olivia Wilde retorts with a smile on her face drawing laughter from the reporter pool. “Seriously folks, I’ve been around the block in this league and the one thing I know is that regardless of whom your fight club sister is you’ve got to beat who they put in front of you and you also have to beat the best to put a belt around your waist. Tonight it looks like it’s just the former.” Olivia completes the verbal coup de gras and then steps off the podium.

Wilde wearing Chicago Bear blue bikini, boxing shoes and gloves. Cassidy resplendent in a lime green bikini, yellow gloves and boxing shoes. Both fighters hair back in “go to war” ponytails.

Rd 1 Wilde bounces out on her toes while Cassidy more careful approaches the explosive Bazz girl. Wilde takes advantage throwing three straight jabs and then another attached to a three punch combination that sends the dark haired beauty reeling. Still not much damage as Kate blocks punches with arms and shoulders but Wilde Girl is on the offensive early. Cassidy thinking that the first round would go slower as they felt each other out was dead wrong. Wilde punching away wins the first round.

Rd 2 Wilde returns to the same pace as the bell rings. Katie still groggy after the first round surprise. Still she’s not totally out of it as her jab looks crisp and she’s now holding off the charging Olivia. Both girls trying out their quickness on the other. Wilde dipping in on planted left leg and unleashing combinations led by her potent jab. Cassidy bobbing and weaving in and out of Olivia’s aggression landing her own combinations. Crowd being treated to classic examples of two distinct styles of the sweet science by the very agile fighters. Wilde seeming to knock Cassidy’s head back with slight more regularity as the round comes to an end.

Rd 3 Katie robust in this round. Ponytail bopping up and down as she goes to work against Olivia. Indie girl shows surprising speed against Livie beating her to the punch several times. She connects on a jab as Wilde goes for the body stunning the brunette. Wilde staggers to the side bringing the already raucous crowd to its feet. An angry Olivia comes back with more bombs to the body but Bam! Bam! Go Katie’s quick fists knocking back the Bazz beauty, keeping the crowd in the game and narrowly winning the round.

Rd 4 Cassidy trying to be the aggressor now coming straight at Wilde with crisp blurry jabs but the Bazz theme has always been quickness wins bouts and the Wilde Girl has it in spades. Cassidy throwing a combination but Wilde easily bobs and weaves her way around it an lands her own overhand right. Cassidy regroups with a flurry of punches that has Olivia retreating into a corner. Wilde continues to bob, weave and rope a dope through most of Katie’s barrage but the indie’s aggression earns her another round.

Rd 5 Katie, the picture of a determined girl hoping to continue the “Big Mo”, starts out with her familiar bobbing and weaving in and out of Olivia’s wheelhouse leaving touches about the head and chest as she retreats out of range. Wilde Girl landing some jabs as she moves around the ring doing her best to avoid Katie’s low stance. Meanwhile Cassidy trying to maneuver Olivia into the ropes having discovered that she has just enough speed and agility on her to make things miserable. Smart fight leaning on Wilde against the ropes and pushing some punches into the body, jugs and chin. Wilde frustrated and unable to go on the attack in mid ring with long jabs and quick combinations. Revlon girl all flustered shoots a jubilant Kate Cassidy daggers as the two make their way to their respective corners at the end of the round.

Rd 6 Olivia bewildered by the three round shut out comes out with fists ablazing. Katie fully expecting to continue with more of the same this round tries to side step Olivia but gets caught up in the tsunami that is bearing down on him. Wilde Girl catches Cassidy with a jab and a cross and then an upper cut. Combination is delivered with crisp smooth expertise yet Cassidy weathers the storm against the ropes and puts together some decent counterpunching work in to tone down Wilde’s aggression. The two wrestle for position in the corner but now it’s the Revlon girl with the upper hand landing some short punches to the body before the bell rings.

Rd 7 Girls out jabbing at center ring. Both still have plenty in the tank for the latter rounds with their superior conditioning. Wilde pushing the pace until Cassidy finds a narrow opening and slices through with an overhand left that stuns Wilde. Cassidy backs the Bazz girl up against the ropes pressing her advantage with punches to the body and effective cover ups of Olivia’s counter punching. Wilde trying to push her way off the ropes to open space where her speed and agility makes her a queen but the round ends with Cassidy gut punching her along the ropes.

Rd 8 The frustration of the previous round grates on Olivia Wilde, She simmers on her stool between rounds. Outset of eighth is a tutorial in how to control an opponent. Olivia out with a perfectly timed three punch combination that rocks Cassidy. When Katie tries to punch her way back to the ropes Olivia side steps her way out of harm’s way like a matador with a cape and then jitterbugging away from her opponent. Olivia all controlled fury as she dodges Katie’s rushes and lays the leather on the charging brunette at every possible opportunity. Wilde jabs at Cassidy with increased velocity now. Cassidy no longer able to control Wilde’s movements now with Revlon girl’s new strategy of getting away from the ropes. At one point Bazz girl circling the crouched over brunette landing punches at will with Katie having given up on trying to trap her seems content to try and cover up as best she can from a furious barrage being administered by Olivia Wilde. Katie Cassidy near tears as the bell rings Olivia Wilde can’t help but pump her fist after pitching probably the most perfect round of her FCBA career.

Rd 9 Olivia the brown haired beauty of the ball now. She’s out all upright and confident as the bell rings. Still she’s focused and when Katie comes at her with a powerful jab Livie bobs her head to the side and comes back with a right hand to the body bending her opponent over. It’s all Olivia all the time now punching Cassidy at will. Katie not out of gas though. She’s taking some punishment but willing to swing away at the pretty brunette. A wild Cassidy right leaves space for an uppercut which Olivia rifles through with precision and DOWN GOES KATIE! A frustrated Katie Cassidy looks up at the counting ref and can only roll over onto her side. Olivia Wilde Round 9 KO.

After: “You know I figured that I just didn’t have it tonight until the end of the seventh and I thought about my mate Cassie Scerbo.” Olivia Wilde blurts out excitedly while toweling off in front of a very interested fan base. “She’s so good at getting out of those tight places, the way she moves it just creates escape hatches. I’ve watched her in training, it’s so impressive and I used it tonight so I guess you can thank Cassie for the last two rounds and man did I need it. Katie Cassidy is one tough cookie. She’s going to win some fights in this league.
