Christina Hendricks (Punchaholics Anonymous) vs Stephanie McMahon (Unmanaged)

(Words Anon, Results Lookout)

"She's got me on size, of course, but I'm on a roll. I don't think she has what it takes to stop me," said Christina Hendricks regarding Stephanie McMahon, her next opponent. "And I'm not going to actively help her throw me through a table, so her usual method of winning fights is out of the question."

"This flabby bitch is toast," said McMahon in her own interview before the fight. "It's going to be all me from the first bell to, well, whenever her legs give out on her. And she's been holding her own lately, so I'll be generous and say six or seven rounds? Unless one of my gloves gets stuck in her cleavage, then I'll give her eight or nine."

With tensions high given the fighters' statements, Stephanie McMahon was first to enter the ring in red trunks, bra, and gloves. Christina Hendricks made her entrance shortly after, wearing black trunks and bra.

Round 1:

The match began slowly, but it soon became clear that each fighter was willing to take risks to gain an early advantage. After a period of testing the other's defenses, McMahon made the first serious attack, and Hendricks was happy to engage. Unfortunately for Hendricks, McMahon weathered her attacks and caught her on the side of the face with a response, knocking her back. Hendricks, not discouraged, moved back in once she had regained her balance, and was rewarded by seeing her second swing knock McMahon's head back with a thump. Needing a respite, McMahon retreated, and managed to end the round only absorbing the odd jab.

Round 2:

Eager to make a comeback, McMahon went on the offensive immediately, but Hendricks weathered her attacks, sneaking in responses where she could. Frustrated, but persistent, McMahon kept a fast pace throughout the round. As the round drew to a close, Hendricks moved to take definitive control. Instead of her usual parries, she slipped past McMahon's swing, leaving herself in the perfect position to hammer her opponent's ribs. Attempting to cover up an instant too late, McMahon missed her chance to react to Hendricks' next attack, a one two combination to the jaw that knocked her head back and forth in quick succession. McMahon finished the round covering up in a weak attempt to cut her losses.

Round 3:

Clearly ahead on points, Hendricks left her corner looking confident and immediately set about trying to inflict more damage on her opponent. However, the actress found McMahon more prepared this time around, and was unable to land more than the odd glancing blow, receiving the same back in turn. At the middle of the round, McMahon began to stand firm and slug it out with her opponent, and while for a moment neither fighter seemed to have the edge, Hendricks lost control when McMahon's gloved fist struck the side of her head, leaving her open to a follow up that struck her in the nose. Retreating as the clear loser of the exchange, Hendricks spent the remainder of the round seeking a hole in McMahon's defenses and finding none.

Round 4:

In the fourth round, McMahon quickly set about trying to make her partial recovery into a complete turn around of the match. However, as the round progressed, it became clear that Hendricks was not going to cooperate. The actress was able to keep McMahon continually off balance, giving at least as much as she took if not more. The chances for a McMahon comeback hit a low point late in the round, when Hendricks landed a devastating blow to McMahon's jaw followed by two hits to the side of her head in rapid succession. McMahon backed away as if she might recover, then lost her balance and crashed to the mat on her side. She was back on her feet in seconds, but Hendricks had made her point.

Round 5:

After showing that she could put McMahon on the mat, Hendricks was clearly aiming to do so again in the fifth round. She picked her attacks carefully, and their power seemed to shake McMahon even as they struck her guard. McMahon's responses were not quite up to the standard she had set earlier. Though she struggled to score hits, she endured Hendricks' attacks while putting up a decent fight.

Round 6:

Having avoided a fight ending disaster in the last round, McMahon began the sixth looking slightly more energetic. With a knockout looking less likely, Hendricks was fighting more conservatively this round, taking fewer risks and accepting fewer rewards. But with McMahon's counterattacks, the actress generally found herself falling short. The scattered hits she did manage to land cost her more damage in return, and Hendricks ended the round frustrated and off balance.

Round 7:

As the last two round had been quite competitive, the crowd was on edge, waiting to see which fighter might pull ahead in the seventh round. During the opening of the round, the tension built further, as neither fighter managed to gain a clear advantage. However, later in the round the crowd got their wish. After taking some punishment from her opponent, McMahon fought back, getting in close to strike at Hendricks stomach. Absorbing hits, Hendricks backed off to cut her losses, but could not escape McMahon's final swing that caught her on the jaw. The crowd cheered excitedly at the unexpected hit. Unprepared, Hendricks became an easy target, and after a few rapid blows, McMahon finished with a hook to the temple. Hendricks stumbled and collapsed, landing on her hands and knees. As she rose to her feet, Hendricks was forced to endure not only the crowd celebrating her defeat, but her opponent's smug expression as well. She nodded at the referee with a determined expression on her face, and the round resumed. If anything, the obvious defeat seemed to make Hendricks fight more aggressively, but McMahon's defenses held firm until the conclusion of the round.

Round 8:

With the momentum on her side, but not the scorecard, McMahon entered round eight obviously intending to end the fight before time ran out. However, the tenacious Hendricks remained thoroughly in the fight, managing to force an occasional retreat out of her opponent. Still, the actress was taking the worst of most exchanges, at this point forced to struggle to merely avoid being cornered and finished off.

Round 9:

In the ninth round, with each fighter having suffered a long fight and a knockdown a piece, the action began slowly. While Hendricks was putting up a spirited fight, it was McMahon who scored the first notable victory, feinting left then attacking with her right. Catching Hendricks on the chin, McMahon caused her opponent's swing to fall short as the actress began a counter attack far too late. Soon after, McMahon tried to repeat her performance, but this time Hendricks was ready. Parrying McMahon's real attack easily, she responded by moving in and striking her soundly on the jaw with a right hook. Determined to swing things back in her favor, McMahon shrugged off the blow andswung again. Hendricks, however, had a head start, and moved in to land an uppercut under McMahon's chin. McMahon threw her arms out, took a stumbling step backwards, and landed on the canvas in a sitting position. Blinking in a confused manner, she shook her head and began the difficult process of rising to her feet. When the fight resumed, Hendricks was on her in an instant, but McMahon was able to fight defensively enough to survive the round.

Round 10:

By the tenth round, Hendricks was in the lead by a wide enough margin that her opponent could only win by a knockout. McMahon, obviously aware of this, threw everything she had into the final minutes. The crowd watched anxiously, knowing that any tiny misstep might turn the fight one way or another. However, in the end, Hendricks' endurance won out; the actress not only survived McMahon's attacks but punished her aggressive actions, stunning McMahon several times throughout the round with quick headshots. After a short period, the judges came back with their decision -- UD10 Christina Hendricks. As the referee raised the battered but jubilant winner's hand in victory, McMahon pulled away as soon as she could, retreating to her corner with as Hendricks waved to her fans.

"Hey, she's brave, I'll give her that," said Christina Hendricks shortly after McMahon made her hasty exit. "I mean, a lot of fighters would have stayed down if they were her in round nine." The actress, obviously still under the effects of adrenaline from the fight, continued excitedly. "Tougher than I expected, definitely."
