TESS VALMORE

BUNDCHEN/ PERRY This was a close fight all the way. It was even at two, even at four, even at six and even at eight. Bundchen spent the night using her longer reach and tying up Perry every chance she could get. Perry kept the same strategy for most of the fight, trying to get in close and work the body That strategy allowed Bundchen to be successful in tying Perry up. Perry finally got going and took the last two rounds to get the decision

LACHMAN/ PINK In the opening round Pink showed how she was going to fight this bout. She got in close and went to the body. Lachman used a jab in trying to keep Pink away. Lachman was relatively successful in the first three rounds. In the fourth, Lachman slowed down and Pink started going for the head. Head hunting paid off for Pink in the fifth, when a left hook dropped Lachman. She beat the count, but was trapped against the ropes as Pink unloaded. With nothing coming back, the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.

DEELY/ SWAN Not much to say about this bout. It lasted about four minutes. In the second round, Swan caught Deely with a right hand that put her on the canvas. Deely beat the count but then was hit with another right hand and she went down again. This time for keeps

STEWART/ HAYEK The first four rounds set the tone for this bout. Hayek was trying to get inside and bang the body while Stewart used her superior reach to keep Hayek on the outside. Neither strategy proved very effective in the first four rounds. In the fifth, however, Stewart’ s game plan became effective and she took the next three rounds to have a big lead. In the eighth, Hayek trying to get inside walked into a big Stewart right hand and the fight was over with Hayek being counted out

De La GARZA/ RUAH This was another bout in which the taller girl worked outside while the shorter tried to get inside and bang the body. The long jab worked well for Ruah in the first three rounds. In the fourth de la Garza managed to get inside enough to take the round. In the fifth de la Garza tried to get back inside only to eat a powerful right and down she went for the count. A big win for Ruah

ROWLAND/ TORV This was an aggressive fight. Not much defense, just sharp punching. Torv took the first two round and Rowland the next two. Then Torv reeled off three straight round to have a big lead. Rowland managed to take the eighth. Torv won the ninth and had a big lead going into the final round. Normally, I would say when you have a big lead, don’t mix it up going for the KO. It backfires more often than not. Torv went for the KO and this time it paid off when Torv land the overhand right that sent Rowland down to canvas for the count
