Summer Glau (Medallion Boxing) vs Nina Dobrev (Lookout Boxing)

Prefight: This could be one of the best fights of the card. Two Bantams trying to climb up the ladder well in Summer's case climbing back up the mountain. "Everyone was shocked when I won the title then was able to defend it." Summer says very sternly. "I'm not a fluke. I'm not a flash in the pan. I deserve respect and I will get the titles back." Nina is not impressed. "Well wasn't that passionate. I'm not here to prove anything other than I am better than Summer. I'm taking this one fight at a time until I get my due and the belts." Nina comes to the ring in a blue with black trim bikini and black gloves hair in a ponytail. Summer in a white side tied bikini white gloves hair also tied back.
R1: The two come out of corners for round one. Summer flicking the jab moving well from side to side. Nina slipping underneath popping her own jab looking for openings. Both hitting combinations when they can really a feeling out round. Summer showing some flash in the middle however out boxing Nina showing off her skills. The bell sounds neither one really impressed by the other as they return to the corner.
R2: This round seems to be the same as the last. Both ladies moving well showing off their talents. This time however Nina sees her opening and connecting jumping inside hit a five punch combo driving Summer back. The taller lady shakes it off and the stalemate continues to the end of the round. Nina gives Summer a little grin trying to say more of that is coming.
R3: The fight is continuing much the same way until Nina is caught by a crisp hard jab. It stuns the Canadian just enough for her to get rocked by a surprising right cross to the chin. Nina eyes are blinking trying to focus but can't avoid a left to the head then Summer jumping to the body driving the younger woman to the ropes. Nina's buns are jumping from the shots but she manages to fire back with some body shots of her own. She slips to her right clearing with a jab and back to center. The round winds down. At the bell this time Summer smiles at Nina this time answering in spades for the previous round.
R4: Nina comes out a bit more cautious this round staying away but still trying to work like in the first two. Summer doesn't try to press the advantage either. Both keep laying glancing blows to each other keeping it quite scientific the American controlling the pace to end the round.
R5: Nina right from the bell being more aggressive trying to dictate the pace. Summer tries to use her jab to get control but the Canadian keeps the pressure on. She keeps trying to work inside but Summer keeps bending out of the way then has to go on the run. A very strong round for Nina her best of the fight but just can't seem to nail down the leggy Summer.
R6: Nina still trying to pressure taking Summer's jabs when needed to keep the American on her horse moving away. The younger brunette keeps loading up looking waiting chasing. Summer out of sorts not able to out box the brunette. Bell sounds and Nina smiles back at Summer. She hasn't been able to hurt the taller lady but is showing her what pressure boxing is all about. Nina in control evening the fight.
R7: Nina finally finds her opening. After chasing for two rounds the Canadian finds the opening connecting to Summer's chin with a left uppercut followed by a right deep to the pit of the taller brunette's stomach. Summer winces and the opening widens. Nina in full attack mode digging to Summer's lean body forcing her back to the ropes. The American tries to cover up as best as she can but keeps getting hammered. Summer goes wobble butt. Another uppercut clips the taller brunette snapping her up. The fans are on their feet thinking it is over. Summer to her credit keeps punching back as she's blitzed up to the bell. Nina struts away really showing off her butt to Summer knowing the beating she just laid down.
R8: Nina comes out fast trying to end it. Summer firms up out of the gate flicking jabs moving left to right and bending away again. After the first minute, Nina knows she's not going to get to her and backs off being a bit winded from her three round chase then thumping of the lanky lady. Summer takes advantage moving Nina around a bit with her blows but each counter hit from the Canadian now makes her wince and drives her back. At the bell Summer might have won on the cards but is in a shambles.
R9: The resting continues this round but with Nina in control. Summer not wanting to engage getting pushed back with jabs and long shots to the body. She shoots back countering trying to drive with her jab. Nina is going no where. Summer looks tired steam gone from her punches and legs. The round ends with Nina bouncing on her toes looking like she is going to do a jumping jack before returning to her corner.
R10: The final round Nina showing all the confidence in the world Summer teeth gritted needing to win this round to maybe save the fight. The Canadian shuts her down out of the gate using her own jab to beat Summer off to the chest and head actually pushing her back a few time. The American breaks though landing an overhanded combo pushing Nina back now. She dives in for more trying to turn the tide. The Canadian nears the ropes before belting Summer to the stomach bouncing her on her toes. A combo to the head ends the rally pushing Summer back and controlling her to the bell. Summer nearly in tears as the decision is announced UD10 NINA DOBREV.
Post Fight: Summer is devastated at the decision while Nina thrusts her hands in the air nearly dancing in her corner. The American doesn't protest it as she was blown out at the end losing five out of the last six and looking bad in the round she won. Summer distraught just puts her head against Jessica's shoulder in frustration before the Medallion lady leaves the ring in the bigger woman's arms. "She thought she'd use me to get 'her' spot back." Nina answers with a big grin. "It was a great fight for me and I could have knocked her out if I wanted to but I showed her were she belongs...behind me in line." |
