BEFORE:

"This is a big fight for both of us," says the woman dressed as a Medieval queen. "But, particularly so for me. A win tonight and I'll be in line for a title shot. And I plan to make sure I get one."

"She's as good as anyone I've fought," says the woman dressed as a Polynesian princess. "She's an elite fighter. But, so am I. Ring the bell and let's see what happens."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Toccata and Fugue In D Minor', an appropriate Bach selection for Hallowe'en..."

Tess: "Cassie. This is classical music. Does that mean..."

Cassie: "I know nothing. NOTHing."

O'Dell: "Our Medieval queen on her way to the ring, climbs in and is helped off with the costume and that, gang is 'The Wilde Girl' herself, Olivia Wilde of the Bazz Fight Club!"

Cassie: "Yeah it is, and as you heard pre-fight, Wilde Girl is on a roll and aiming straight at those bantamweight belts. And the crowd doing some appreciating of how she looks in that purple and white striped bikini!"

O'Dell: "And we're about to find out who..."

McCarthy: "It doesn't MATTER who. Weirdo doesn't have ONE good bantam, so..."

O'Dell: "And that would be 'Hawaii Five-O' by The Ventures and the Polynesian princess has got to be none other than 'The Korean Krusher', Grace Park!"

McCarthy: "THAT overrated twig? Wilde will beat her EASY..."

O'Dell: "Park down to the ring, helped off with the costume by Jewel and Neve to reveal that medium blue two-piece she likes, and we're about ready to go. Let's get some picks. Tess?"

Tess: "Two good fighters here. Wilde is likely a champion in waiting and Grace a former champ. Going with Olivia, but this is going to be a good one."

O'Dell: "Mac?"

McCarthy: "Like I said, Wilde easy."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "No disrespect to Grace, but I agree with Tess."

O'Dell: "It's unanimous. Let's see if our ladies are right. We're underway with each fighter showing the other a great deal of respect. Park jabbing with the left, using that reach. Wilde working off center to Grace's left side, wants to step forward land and pop back."

Cassie: "This is an interesting match up as far as spacing. Olivia is 5'7", which makes her a tall bantam, but she's giving up height and reach to Grace. On the other hand, Grace is used to having an even bigger advantage in those categories, because most bantams aren't as tall or rangy as Olivia."

O'Dell: "Both women clearly negotiating that geometry right now. Both working hard, but we're not seeing the normal work rate from Grace as she looks to solve the puzzle. Wilde a bit more cautious than she normally is, accounting for that reach."

Tess: "These are two good boxers, Jenny, and you're seeing that. They're both getting punches on target despite excellent defense from the other side, but both are limiting the other's offense as well."

O'Dell: "No question we've got a bit of a chess match going, with move and counter move ruling the day. We're coming into the final seconds now, and neither woman's been able to get terms to her liking. There's the bell. Wilde's round, I think, as she was able to limit Grace's touches and create more scoring opportunities."

Tess: "Good start for Olivia. No question."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Back to work and the chess match continues. Both fighters working hard to get their respective pieces to positions of power in the center of the board, but it's move and counter move as each knows very well exactly what her opponent is planning."

Cassie: "Olivia continuing to angle off-center to Grace's left. She's forcing Grace to try to square up and slowing her down doing that."

O'Dell: "Park getting off when she's square, but the heavy work rate we're used to not present, because Grace is spending so much time working the angles. Wilde continuing the quick-step in to flurry and then the quick-step back."

McCarthy: "If I were training Wilde, I'd have her get right inside, stay there, and go after that skinny body."

Cassie: "You are NOT training Wilde, and the people who ARE know what they're doing."

McCarthy: "We'll see, because Mac The Knife has the Park-buster game plan right up here in the old noggin'..."

Cassie: "Where it's rattling around with the spiders and cobwebs..."

McCarthy: "Shut. It. Scabbo."

O'Dell: "Heading down the stretch in another good, competitive round. Wilde showing those excellent feet, not doing any bouncing or circling, no wasted movement, just slight adjustments to get where she wants to be and score. Grace adjusting back, landing a good right in that exchange, and there's the bell. Wilde again."

Tess: "And she's built a bit of a lead. 20-18 after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third of a scheduled ten and it's Wilde back to work, continuing to try to stay to the left of Grace's jab. Park now lining her up for a flurry, doing it again. Grace getting square and beginning to get off. Olivia responding in kind, but we're seeing a pick up in the Park workrate..."

Cassie: "Subtle adjustment here. Watch Grace's left foot. She's using a drop step, pivoting backward and to her right and she's using that to barrel Olivia up. Wilde Girl's not able to stay off center."

O'Dell: "And the result is a lot of exchanges of fire. Both girls having their moments in those, but Gracer is now able to turn up the pressure, keep the punches coming, and it's working for her."

McCarthy: "Wilde needs to get more aggressive, like I said. Get after Park and work the body."

O'Dell: "Olivia PLENTY aggressive. She's still hitting her spots and scoring when she does so. But, it's Park getting the angles she wants in this stanza, and she's getting those busy fists flying. Grace slowly taking control as the round goes on, and there's the bell. Park on the board."

Tess:"29-28 after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Tactical work continuing here in the fourth. Both fighters looking to get the geometry they want, and both having some success. Park doing a bit more when she has the advantage, though, keeping the fists pumping, showing that high work rate."

Tess: "This is really fun to watch, Jenny. I mean, it's great to see a girl like Parrish pull a big upset like she did earlier, but watching two very good, evenly matched fighters like this is pretty great..."

Cassie: "This is what happens when you've got two of the top fighters from the two best stables in the FCBA..."

McCarthy(choking)

O'Dell: "Someone pat Mac between the shoulders. I think that soda she was drinking went down the wrong way. Meanwhile, in the ring, Park again upping the volume of leather. She's got range on Wilde and she's sending plenty of shell that way. Olivia still moving angling, scoring when she can hit her spots..."

McCarthy: "Best...(cough)...two...(cough)...you're (cough)...INSANE, Scabbo!"

O'Dell: "Um, we've moved on, Mac. And the round is moving on as well. Wilde looking to finish strong, landing a good flurry, and Grace responds in kind. LOTS of leather flying right to the bell. And we get a pair of smiles and a glove tap as the bantams head back to their respective corners. Park's round again."

Tess: "And, we're all even at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Leather snapping from both sides as we begin the fifth. Park looking to turn the heat up a little further now, trying to get Wilde on the counter, but Olivia not giving up the lead. Wilde showing a little more aggression instead, popping forward more often, leading to more of those sharp, two-way exchanges."

Cassie: "Just subtle little adjustments on both sides, Jenny. Both trying to find something that will give them juussst enough of an advantage..."

O'Dell: "And both finding ways to score, to make things work for them. Good defense on both sides holding things down some, but there's a lot of leather flying from a lot of different places."

McCarthy: "Wilde needs to keep coming after Park. Grace will wilt..."

Tess: "Highly unlikely, Mac. Highly."

O'Dell: "Certainly not showing any signs of it at the moment. Park giving as good as she's getting in these flurries. Wilde, though, is managing to keep up with the work rate by limiting it defensively and working hard herself. Final seconds tick away, and that's the fifth. Close one, but Olivia's back on top."

Tess: "48-47. This is just the kind of fight we expected from these two."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with two BLISTERING exchanges! Park a good right hand in the first one and Wilde a solid left hook in the second. Both fighters looking to take charge of this thing, trying to force the other onto the defensive, but neither one is willing to go."

Cassie: "Can't do it. If you let Park get you going counter, she'll smother you with that work rate. You go to counter against Wilde Girl, she'll pick you apart."

O'Dell: "And both fighters seem well aware of those dangers. Got to keep going after her. And that's exactly what they're doing. No slow down from either girl as the fight and the rounds go on. Park lining Wilde up for a good combination there, and Olivia responds with a jab step and a good one-two."

Tess: "I've said this before, but let me say it again. This is GREAT stuff."

O'Dell: "Fans definitely enjoying it. Plenty of action keeping them involved, as it's move and counter move, flurry and counter flurry, point and counter point. Coming down the stretch and both brunettes turning this thing up, trying to grab a good, close round. Final seconds tick off and there's one more good rally at the bell. We're even again, ladies."

McCarthy: "57-57. I KNOW I'd have had Park out of there by now, and now I'm pretty sure Wilde would be gone, too."

Cassie: "Truck, someone spiked Mac's soda again..."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Back to work in the seventh and it's all about movement, feet, hands, head and shoulders. Both fighters angling, boxing, finding spots to punch from, and making no mistake when they do so. No dancing, no banging, just good, solid boxing, back and forth flurries, both girls working to stay in the lead."

Tess: "I'm thinking back now and wondering if this isn't one of the best fights we've ever had here at Asylum..."

McCarthy: "Well, considering I was ROBBED TWICE, so you can't count my two with Campbell..."

Cassie: "HERE we go..."

McCarthy: "Shut it, Scabbo!"

O'Dell: "Truck, check and see if we've hit the 'shut it' record tonight, because we have to be close. Also close is this fight and this round. Again both fighters finding a way to get offense off despite the solid defensive efforts of the respective opposition..."

McCarthy: "Torv-Rowland I."

Tess: "Yes, that's probably the measuring stick for Asylum fights."

McCarthy: "Sixteen rounds, both girls down more than once. Torv wins it with a knockout in the 16th. Hasn't gotten any better than that."

O'Dell: "Can't argue about that one being number one, but, this one's in the conversation for number two. Both of these fighters are 'on' tonight, both efficient, both slick and quick. This is pretty stuff, and, again, the pace not slowing as we approach the bell. There it is. Another close one. Wilde."

Cassie: "67-66 for Wilde Girl. This is going to be tight."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "We move into the eighth and Park turning up the heat AGAIN..."

Cassie: "Doesn't look like she's WILTING, Mac..."

McCarthy: "I'm WARNING you, Scabbo..."

O'Dell: "Park getting in rhythm here, ladies, and she's beginning to suppress Olivia with those heavy barrages. Wilde trying to counter, trying to stay out from underneath, but Grace staying on her. Olivia giving some ground now, trying to foul the sights, but Park's sending shell from everywhere..."

Tess: "This is what Cassie was talking about, what Grace can do to you..."

Cassie: "Wilde Girl's got to put a rally together and slow this down."

O'Dell: "Olivia looking to do that, but can't keep anything going. Grace all over her. Wilde not hurt, but getting touched up, giving ground, covering up..."

McCarthy: "She needs to get off. Back Park up..."

O'Dell: "Can't seem to do it, though. As we come down the stretch, Grace continuing to up the pressure. Wilde still firing back in spots, but unable to stay on the co-lead this time around. There's the bell, and Park has her best round of the night."

Tess: "76-76 through eight. Doesn't get more even than that."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Ninth begins with more suppressive fire from Grace. Park has everything clicking right now and she's got Wilde on her back foot. Olivia covering and backing, managing to counter on occasion, but not able to get a lot of offense off."

Cassie: "Park's volume can be a problem for anyone. Wilde Girl has to find a way to slow this down, match it, or both."

O'Dell: "Grace in the best rhythm she's been in all night. She's working from various angles and distances, using the long poke to set up flurries, then working forward and left, forward and right, all the while the leather flying."

McCarthy: "Wilde giving too much ground. She needs to hang in there and hold canvas."

O'Dell: "Not having any success doing that at the moment. She's being forced back. Olivia not hurt and too slick to get caught on the ropes. She's still countering when she can, still blocking and slipping punches, but there's too much volume and a lot of it's getting through. There's the bell ending the ninth and Park is three minutes away from a huge victory if our cards are right."

Tess: "86-85 going to the tenth."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Tenth and final begins with Park back to business. Wilde more aggressive now, actually coming forward through the barrage of leather from Grace and slugging away! We've got blistering, two-way exchanges developing now and the crowd is loving it!"

McCarthy: "Corner clearly told Wilde she had to have this round. She's after Park aggressively, taking a lot of fire, but she has to take some chances."

O'Dell: "And she's doing that, no question. Grace hanging in there with Wilde, not giving ground. Holding her canvas, refusing to allow Olivia to grab control. Lots of leather flying in combination as both fighters try to finish this one big!"

Cassie: "And both are landing some BOMBS in there. Wilde's got those strong legs, and they're holding up against some big shots!"

O'Dell: "Grace's chin never in question, either, and Wilde is testing it with some nasty hooks. Both fighters going all in down the stretch, neither willing to give an inch. It's exchange after exchange right to the bell! What an action-packed round. Close, but I went Olivia..."

Tess: "Which means, if our cards are right, Wilde has sent this to OT...which couldn't be more fitting..."

O'Dell: "And there's the announcement! The final score is 95-95, neither lady hesitating. We're going OVERTIME at The Asylum!"

ROUND ELEVEN:

O'Dell: "We begin overtime with a HUGE flurry!"

McCarthy: "Best exchange of the fight!"

O'Dell: "Certainly was. Both women landed hard shots in there and they're right back at it, back-and-forth with heavy fire just like in round ten. No flurry goes unanswered. There's no punch without a response..."

Cassie: "And what about the conditioning of these two? Everybody knows Park is in as good a shape as anyone in the FCBA, but Wilde Girl hanging right with her..."

O'Dell: "Good point, Cassie. Neither of these two have slowed at ALL despite the fact that we've gone OT. They both look like they could go 15 easily, but it's clear from the scintillating exchanges like THAT one that neither plans to let the other survive that long..."

Tess: "You said it earlier, Jenny. This is what elite bantams look like. One a champion, the other a champion in waiting, and neither willing to give an inch to the other tonight."

O'Dell: "Final seconds tick away and there's the bell. And, for the fans who don't know how this works, the judges will now reveal their cards and let us know who they have winning the round. And this will be interesting, because that was the closest round of the fight..."

Cassie: "WILDE! All three for Wilde!"

Tess: "And the pressure is squarely on Grace Park."

ROUND TWELVE:

O'Dell: "Simple formula now as we enter the twelfth. Wilde, who's out quickly, can salt this away if she can win it. If Park, who's now responded with a solid flurry that backs Olivia up a step, can win it, we'll go to the thirteenth, which would be appropriate for a Hallowe'en Friday night at the Asylum."

McCarthy: "Park getting even more aggressive now. Knows she has to have this round and she's going for it."

O'Dell: "Olivia again forced to give ground, covering up, thrown over to the counter. Grace has the advantage and she's pressing it, trying to even what's been a superb, evenly-contested battle up one more time."

Tess: "Wilde got NAILED with that right hand!"

O'Dell: "Sure did, Tess! Maybe the best punch of the fight, but Olivia took it and fired back. Coming down the stretch now. Park looking to pour it on and secure this round and DOWN SHE GOES!"

Cassie: "YES!!!"

O'Dell: "RIGHT HOOK IN COUNTER FROM OLIVIA AND PARK TAKES A KNEE!"

Cassie: "There's not enough time!"

Tess: "Shades of Torv/Strahovski! Not enough time for a count and a mandatory! It's two consecutive points for Wilde!"

O'Dell: "Park KNOWS it. Pounds the mat in frustration and the referee says 'Ring the bell'! It's over! It will go down officially as a KO12, and your winner in an absolute barn burner is 'The Wilde Girl', Olivia Wilde!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Olivia Wilde. What a fight!"

Olivia: "Had to be. She's as good as any bantam in the world and everybody knows it. There's no getting her easy. You've got to bring it all and not take a thing into the locker room, and that's what I did. And, when I do that, there's no one I can't beat."

Tress: "What's next for you?"

Olivia: "Are you WATCHING, Emily? I KNOW you're watching. And if you're done with the YA set, well, look no further than right here. Who ELSE do I have to BEAT Em? How much longer can you duck me before people start to NOTICE? Sign it, Emily. Let's DO this!"
