Hope Dworaczyk, despite having a record of a single TKO loss in one round, was optimistic. "I wasn't ready for the ring," she stated simply. "But I've had years to get myself in shape since that mess. This time I've got what it takes to succeed around here." On the subject of her opponent, Dworaczyk was less positive. "I've never heard of her, and that usually means she gets knocked out in her debut, hangs her head in shame, never comes back, and ends up as a footnote in some article ten years from now."

Robyn Lawley was similarly dismissive. "Look, I'm sure she's perfectly special in her own way, but I want to be clear here -- I signed up to punch b###hes in the face and watch them fall down."

Dworaczyk made her entrance in black trunks and bra, looking like she meant business as the final preparations completed. Lawley, dressed in maroon, seemed more relaxed before things got underway.

Round 1:
Both fighters quickly settled in to a moderate pace in the first round, jabbing at each other from a distance more to uncover weaknesses than anything else. Dworaczyk was the first to find one; countering a slight overextension from Lawley, she punished the model's failed attack with a sharp blow to the nose, putting an end to Lawley's offense for the moment. Though Lawley was quick to recover, she ended the round having landed far fewer than her share of hits.

Round 2:
Lawley was quick to turn things around as the second round began, tagging her opponent on the jaw right as the action got underway. Dworaczyk fought back, but Lawley simply faded away, only slipping back in when she saw an opportunity for an effective counter. By the halfway point in the round, Dworaczyk had absorbed enough unanswered blows that she finally backed off, trading jabs with her opponent and waiting out the clock.

Round 3:
Having been outfought in the earlier parts of the third round, Dworaczyk continued to play it safe in the third, occasionally emerging to go on the attack and possibly turn things around. Lawley, looking confident after a comfortable win, was able to drive off Dworaczyk each time she went on offense, but little else. Late in the round, Lawley was rewarded for her patience with a particularly bad miss from her opponent, allowing her to land an unanswered left right to the woman's jaw before she could react.

Round 4:
In the fourth round, Dworaczyk stayed on the offensive. This time, she was able to survive longer engagements, answering everything Lawley threw at her. By the midpoint in the round Dworaczyk was definitely in control, regularly positioning herself for advantageous engagements as Lawley struggled in vain to turn things around. Dworaczyk pulled further ahead in the final minute by landing three hits in close succession, snapping Lawley's head back and forth freely, and backing away from Lawley's stumbling, wild response. However, Dworaczyk had already taken the round firmly -- this was only a bonus.

Round 5:
Starting the round by slipping a straight punch to the nose through Lawley's guard, Dworaczyk maintained her obvious control of the fight as the fifth round began. Suffering a solid blow so early seemed to shock Lawley, and her aim as the round continued seemed to be cutting her losses rather than retaking control. Dworaczyk, in contrast, was as aggressive as ever, taking her shots with relative impunity. Lawley did manage to keep the damage under control, parrying effectively and countering less so, but the taller model needed to do more than slow her fall.

Round 6:
The sixth round saw more of the same action -- the two fighters clashed enthusiastically with no clear winner for the moment. However, in this round, Lawley managed to hold her ground. The stalemate showed no signs of stopping as the round progressed, effectively putting a stop to Dworaczyk's dominant performance thus far. By the final minute, Dworaczyk was spending more time covering up than fighting back.

Round 7:
The opening minute of the seventh round saw the balance of power completely upset. While Dworaczyk performed well enough in the early moments of the round, she quickly lost control when Lawley landed an effective counterattack. With the momentum against her, Dworaczyk backed off and covered up, with Lawley taking advantage to pound at her guard and sneak the occasional hit past it. Dworaczyk eventually won herself room to recover and rejoined the fight, only to be beaten back just as quickly. The Playmate never fully regained her momentum, taking a beating throughout the round but remaining on her feet until the bell.

Round 8:
Dworaczyk entered the eighth round hurt, obviously having not recovered from the one sided previous round. Lawley, in contrast, seemed as fresh as ever, and was soon repeating her performance from last round, chasing Dworaczyk into the corner and solidly knocking her head about before she could make her escape. Throughout the round, Dworaczyk would occasionally stand up to Lawley, showing again and again that she was in no condition to do so effectively. As the round drew to a close, it seemed that Dworaczyk would survive a second shutout, but before the bell could give her a much needed break, Lawley caught her on the jaw with a left hook. Dworaczyk, stunned, nearly dropped her guard entirely, allowing Lawley's straightforward follow up to crash into her face. The Playmate swooned and collapsed, pushing herself onto her side as the referee counted her out, but not making it past a reclining position before it was over -- KO8 Robyn Lawley.

With the results in, the press gathered around the smiling Lawley as Dworaczyk stumbled back to her corner. "I think she did ok," said the victorious model casually. "But once I got her where I wanted her, she just couldn't take what I had to dish out. So who's next?"
