Una looks pleased to be fighting Liz, even though the blonde knocked her out in 4 one-sided rounds back in 2013, and she’s first into the ring, wearing a white bikini for this fight, white gloves, white boots. Liz also has the fight she wanted, and she’s opted for a black leather bustier and knickers, black gloves, black boots,

Round 1

The girls seem a little hesitant at first, and remember, they’ve both fought once tonight, but Liz is feeding on her past experience now as she starts to up the pace, finds Una with a couple of straight hits, and sends her backwards to the ropes. Una’s taking things slowly, doesn’t rush straight towards Liz, moves around, throws a jab, but now she eats a couple of hooks, and Liz is starting to boss her rather too much for comfort, swinging another right hook into her face, Una responding with a jab, and another, but Liz whams a left hook at her, and Una manages to skips clear, backing away towards the corner of the ring, conceding the opening round.

Round 2

Liz is getting really combative now, and she moves in on Una as soon as she can, swinging in her fairly crude punches, and now she looks like she’s aiming more for Una’s taut body, but the Irish girl defends well, doesn’t give Liz the space she needs, and gets her jab coming back in response now, a punch so accurate that she’s already started to graze Liz’s cheeks, Liz looking a little untidy, swings again – and gets tagged by Una’s responding right hook, which sits Liz firmly on the canvas. Liz is up at 4, not letting Una think she’s hurt her, but she looks a little woozy, her legs slightly shaky, with Una cocky, her gloves low as she picks the blonde off.

Round 3

Liz needs to have recovered quickly from that knockdown, and it seems that she has, as she takes Una on toe to toe in the opening seconds, lands the better punches as well, cuffing the redhead backwards, reminding her that she’s knocked her out before, and she’s clearly aiming to repeat that feat as she lands again, but Una’s got her gloves up nice and high, blocks most of Liz’s best work, the blonde using her energy foolishly, Una preferring to bide her time, and she’s clinching and holding well, leaning on Liz, making the older girl carry her weight on her body, doing whatever she can to tire her leggy opponent, who is starting to look annoyed at the close of this round.

Round 4

Liz again starts to attack, but Una’s ready for her this time, and her hard, straight jab lands squarely in Liz’s face, and again, and again – Liz is starting to run out of steam, just as Una seems to get a second wind, and she whups a couple of good punches into Liz’s body to test her out, and seems to have found the blonde wanting, because she’s gasping for breath after that one to her solar plexus, in big trouble now, gets another one right there in the breadbasket, and she’s on all fours, looking like she may have had enough of this, and just about beats the count at 9, holds up her gloves to show that she’s ready, but she’s really not, because Una’s zipping up that uppercut just like she did against Mel Brown, and it’s all too much for Liz McClarnon who goes down again, eyes flickering as the referee counts her out.

Result: Una Healy knocked out Liz McClanon in round 4

Una seems to have won that little mini-tournament with something to spare, and her ambition to regain the bantamweight crown is on track, although she will probably have to fight Leah Dizon next, and that won’t be easy!
