LUCY HALE VS ARIANA GRANDE
(Pretty Little Punchers Inc. vs Unmanaged Fighter)
Writing: Archer Results: Lookout

Before: “I’ve been looking forward to wiping the ring with Lucy Hale ever since I landed in this fed,” Ariana Grande cheerfully informs the press. She glances over at a frowning Lucy: “Now don’t take it personally, Lucy, I just happen to think you are one of the best small girls around and to become the best—I’ve got to dominate you. I’ve taken out three fighters in a row, Daniella Monet, Dove Cameron and Samia Ghadie, I’m at the top of my game. I am ready to whup Lucy’s butt—but in a nice way, of course.”

Press loves Ariana’s impish humor, but Lucy Hale not so amused: “I realize that Ariana has not had the firm hand of discipline that I have had at PLP. It’s made me a much better fighter and one who, most assuredly will ‘whup’ your butt Ariana.”

“Oh geez,” Ariana says in mock alarm, “I think she’s going to spank me if she wins.”

“Don’t give me any ideas, kid,” Lucy snaps.
“I’ll try not to,” Ariana says standing up so and raising the back of her miniskirt to reveal demure white panties and pointing them in Lucy’s general direction. “Okay, girls, watch out, that girl is aiming to tan both of you.”

Crowd roars and Lucy’s cheeks redden. Ariana then sits back down and grins. Lucy shakes her head and says: “You are SO asking for it.”

“Yeah,” Ariana says cheerfully, “but I am not going to let it happen. See you soon!” She then strolls from the press room as an exasperated Lucy Hale stomps her foot at being upstaged by the newcomer.

Night of the fight finds Lucy Hale entering the ring in menacing black bikini with white skull of crossbones logo across the seat of her trunks with smaller versions on both breast cups. Black gloves, Hair hanging loose. Ariana in a glittering silver bikini with matching silver gloves. Hair in a familiar long braid.

Ariana looks Lucy over and inquiries: “You with the ‘Pretty Little Pirates’ now?”

“It’s more like a death’s head,” Lucy growls, “I am going to wipe that smile off your face.”

“You’re just no fun at all Lucy Hale, I was expecting you’d be a lot more fun,” Ariana says sadly, “But don’t worry—I’ll still whup your ass when I beat you.”

Lucy coldly turns to the referee: “How about getting this fight going! I’ve got a fly to swat.”

“Tsk! Tsk! Disrespecting your opponent, never smart, Luce, never smart,” Ariana chides.

“You should know!” Lucy snaps.

Referee finally steps in to calm things down. Rest of pre-fight goes smoothly. They even touch gloves without further ado.

R1: Lucy out to teach the newcomer a lesson. She bobs and weaves around the kid trying to distract her, then popping in quick shots to head and body. Ariana seems a bit confused and Lucy ups the pressure, firing a series of shots at her chest to startle her, then working her tummy to make her uncomfortable. Finally, Lucy dances to one side and loops in cracking rights and lefts to knock Ariana’s head around. Ariana just taking all this, not punching much for the first minute and Lucy decides it’s time she put the kid on the ropes. She moves in swinging hooks towards Ariana’s body, but Ariana unexpected evades these and now unleashes her jab. Lucy gets her face pasted and then the little singer buries a hook into Lucy’s tummy doubling her over. Lucy looks startled, but she quickly gets her own jab going and tries to step around the rookie. Ariana not quite as nimble as Lucy and gets the side of her head banged by a strong Lucy Hale right. Ariana stumbles away, but Lucy moves to block and puts some uppercuts into Ariana’s face knocking her back. Lucy moves in to finish the job, but Ariana’s got that jab going again and Lucy has to be wary. Ariana’s able to keep Lucy at bay to the bell, but round goes to the Pretty Little Puncher.

R2: Lucy not quite so confident this time, but she keeps up the pressure from the start. Ariana not able to get much offense going, but her defensive skills looking better, Ariana moving her upper body some and she is blocking a number of Lucy’s punches. She isn’t falling for Lucy’s feints and other tricks so much, but Lucy is still keeping her from striking back much of the early going. In the last minute, Ariana tries a feint or two of her own and is rewarded with chances to ring up Lucy’s chin. Hale stutter-stepping backwards from these and Ariana moving in to pound some shots into Lucy’s waistline. Lucy manages to use her better mobility to keep away from the younger fighter and strike back once Ariana’s attacks peter out. Ariana showing some definite signs of life, but round still goes Lucy.

R3: Lucy seems to be out to crush Ariana’s resistance this round. She launches into the rookie with a furious explosion of flyweight punching. Ariana ducking and dodging, manages to get Lucy’s attack stopped with a shot deep into the actress’ belly and then a quick uppercut to the chin. Now Ariana unleashes her own furious punching barrage with her first true offensive of the evening. Lucy not allowed to rally this time as Ariana is all over her with banging leather and the PLP fighter is being driven back to the ropes! Lucy finds herself hung up on the strands while Ariana works her body with a churning fury. Lucy writhing under the attack looks to be in desperate trouble, but Lucy bangs away at Ariana’s head, then finally manages to land one on Ariana’s nose. Ariana falls back stricken, as blood trickles from her nostrils, Lucy finally freed of the torment on the ropes is too shaky-legged to follow up quickly. By the time she does, Ariana has regained her composure, but seems reluctant to close on Lucy again. For her part, Lucy not anxious to close until she has recovered. So the two circle warily and exchange long-range shots to the bell. Both regard each other warily at the bell before turning away.

R4: Lucy seems to be the first to recover and takes the offensive with the start of this round. Ariana’s nose has been fixed, but it looks swollen. Lucy, of course, sees this as a target and a useful way of distracting the rookie with feints, while striking hard to the body. Ariana’s legs starting to shake from the pounding her middle is getting, but sticks to jabbing and trying to evade Lucy (though she’s having less success with this as Lucy grows accustomed to her style). Lucy takes the round, though without landing anything spectacular, but her grinding body work is making Ariana moving with stiff soreness.

R5: Ariana urged by her corner to “get back in this fight, kid!” and so lunges quickly at Lucy once the round begins. Once again she shows some punching power by banging a straight right into Lucy’s nose and then landing a follow-up right to the point of her chin. Lucy looks dazed from this, but gets her guard up and keeps moving to avoid being herded back to the ropes. Ariana in hot pursuit, often lunges to try to cut Lucy off and swing in with punches to the head. Lucy is on the move, but Ariana hangs with her and keeps scoring points. Lucy finally stops and comes back at Ariana, hoping to surprise her. She manages to get a hard shot to Ariana’s right cheekbone, but Ariana’s right cracks off the side of Lucy’s chin. This sets off a dizzying exchange of punches in very close mostly to the body as the two keep coming at each other. Lucy finally knocked back, doubling up as Ariana’s belly punching is really getting to her and Ariana clips her on the chin once again. Lucy still able to move away and Ariana, banged up herself, can’t keep up with her. Again the round ends quietly as the fury of the early action has left both fighters panting and aching. Ariana has the satisfaction of winning her second round, though it’s close this time.

R6: Lucy and Ariana collide at center ring as the punching fury between them erupts yet again. Lucy smashing her gloves hard into Ariana’s body every time the rookie lunges forward swinging for Lucy’s chin. Lucy’s cheekbones taking a lot of Ariana’s would-be chin shots, but Lucy not backing off this time and now finds Ariana’s jaw. One, two, three shots crack off her jaw and Ariana’s legs buckle. Lucy drives a shot into Ariana’s belly, doubling her up as she pitches forward and Lucy steps aside to let her crash into canvas. Ariana lands face-first and then rolls onto her back, left arm at her side and right arm limply across her face, legs thrust out and moving slightly. Lucy looks down at her and then moves away at the referee’s command. Ariana manages to get her knees up but she can’t move any further as the count runs past her.

The Winner: Lucy Hale KO6

After: Big smile spreads across Lucy’s face as she raises her right arm in victory gesture. Ashley Benson, Adelaide Kane, and Danielle Campbell all join their sister PLP flyweight in the ring to celebrate. Ashley whispers in Lucy’s ear and Lucy, her gloves now removed, nods and heads over to Ariana’s. Ariana looks at Lucy with weary resignation and stands up on rubbery legs. Lucy grins and sit down on the stool and drapes the youngster across her lap.

“My fans are expecting this,” Lucy whispers, “enjoy the experience.”

“Just get it over with,” Ariana says, “darn it suppose to you down HEREEEEEEE--!”

The first smack strikes home against the tight silver bikini bottoms and then another. The pace picks up and Ariana starts to protest, kicking her legs and struggling. Lucy keeps a firm grip on Ariana with her left hand while smiting Ariana’s buns with her right. Ariana starts wailing:

“STOP! STOP!I’M SORRREEEEEE! PLEASSSSSEEEEEE!!!!!”

Lucy finally stops and stands up, pulling Ariana to her feet as she does: “Okay, then, we’re even.”

Ariana rubs her throbbing bottom: “I might not think so tomorrow.”

“Fine, but tonight you and everyone else knows you don’t mess with Lucy Hale or the Pretty Little Punchers,” Lucy says and lets Ariana go.
As Lucy headed for her own corner, Ariana called out: “You haven’t seen the last of me, Hale!”

Lucy pauses and Ariana jumps back, but Lucy grins and says: “But I have seen your ‘end’ and I don’t think it wants to see me again anytime soon.”

Ariana smiles ruefully: “Maybe, but the rest of me still wants another shot at you.”

Lucy just shakes her head and goes back across the ring. Ariana Grande watches her go and mutters: “That didn’t go so well, but I’m still 3-2. I’ll be back.”

Lively contest between two energetic young fighters. Maybe not the most skillfully fought battle of the night, but fun to watch (especially for those fond of post-fight antics.)
