LAURA VANDERVOORT VS EMMANUELLE VAUGIER
(Foxfire Boxing vs  Odds & Ends Fight Studio)
Writing: Archer  Results: Lookout

Before: Two fiercely competitive Canadian beauties go at it again. It’s been over a year since Laura stopped Emmanuelle in 5, but the memory is still burning in the O & E fighter’s mind.  “I let that one get away from me. You look at the tape, I had her in trouble early, but I didn’t finish her fast enough. She rallied off the deck and before I knew it, the ref was calling the fight. I want everyone to know that was not my idea. Sure I was in trouble, but I just know I could have gotten back in it and beaten her. This is my chance to prove it.”

“Ho hum,” sneers Laura V., “what some jobbers won’t say to explain why they couldn’t beat. Hey, I was willing to keep pounding her, but the ref took pity on her and stopped it. That’s gratitude for you. Okay, she wants another crack at me? Fine. I’m going to kick her butt to Toronto and back. Maybe then she’ll have to admit I’m  the better fighter.”

Laura in black vinyl one piece for the fight with black, silver LV on the hitting edge of each glove. Black boxing boots with silver laces. Hair pulled back in tight battle braid. Emmanuelle in white bra with red briefs, red gloves and boots with white laces. Laura grinning evilly at Emmanuelle who glares resentfully at the young blonde, not appreciating the intimidation attempt. Glove touching turns into a shoving match with Laura being knocked back and landing on her butt with an astonished look on her face. She’s just discovered it is not always a good idea to twist the tail of a veteran tigress.  Laura leaps to her feet, but referee quick to restore order and lecture both women on following the rules.

R1: Laura comes out swinging, but Emmanuelle is prepared and blunts the blonde’s initial rush with good defensive. Laura frustrated, but seems to calm down and approach the O & E fighter more deliberately in her second offensive of the round. Carefully probing of the Vaugier defense leads to  Laura knocking Emmanuelle’s head back with some crisp shots to the face.  Laura then shifts her fire and finds some Vaugier belly to pound with lifting hooks. Emmanuelle striking back with the jab, but doesn’t seem ready to get risky and remains defensive to the bell. Laura takes the round by a good margin.

R2: Emmanuelle marches out of her corner and catches Laura as she comes gliding confidently out of her own corner. Smacking right across the lips startles the blonde and follow-up straight left bangs the mouth again, lips cut and bleeding. Laura hastily raising her gloves to protect her face leaves her belly wide open and Emmanuelle treats her like a heavy bag with thundering punches that have Laura stumbling back on her toes. Then a solar plexus shot freezes Laura and Emmanuelle doubles her up with another belly buster. Laura bent over, face still in her gloves as Emmanuelle swarms over her. Laura finally clinches and gets a little breathing room. Emmanuelle comes in again, but Laura has her jab going now and makes Vaugier pay for the aggression. Emmanuelle slides to one side and goes after Laura’s ribs. Laura dodging away, trying to counter, but Emmanuelle’s all over her. The two finally work their way to mid ring for some shoulder to shoulder action as Laura gets her head back up (those lips are bloody mess) and fights back with increasing strength. Round ends with Laura avoiding a shut out, but this was clearly Emmanuelle round and Laura battered lips make that fact visual.

R3: Foxfire corner people work on Laura’s face, but she looks a bit woozy coming out for this round. Emmanuelle maintains constant pressure. Moving in and out with flurries of punches that work Laura’s body and head.  Laura very much on the defensive with her gloves up protectively and a good jab to supply counters. Still, Emmanuelle’s dominating Laura this round, though she seems more interested in wearing the younger woman down rather than go for the knockout. Late flurry sees Emmanuelle finding Laura’s mouth again and those swollen lips get cut up again as the bell rings. Laura again going back to her corner with a bloody mouth and Emmanuelle watches with more than little satisfaction in her smile.

R4: Emmanuelle again seeking to dominate, but Laura fights back with increasing strength as the round goes on. Emmanuelle’s initial punching is to the body, but she seems drawn to try to smack Laura’s mouth a few more times. Laura realizes it to and lets Emmanuelle think she is lowering her guard, but Laura is able to dodge the incoming and pump a solid left hook into Emmanuelle’s belly to stun her. Then Laura swiftly blasts some shots into Emmanuelle’s mouth. Nastily effective payback as the blood splatters from Emmanuelle’s split lips and Laura adds a shot to the chin to rattle the veteran’s body. Emmanuelle pulls back for a few moments, but then is right back at Laura and they have a fierce exchange of head swiveling lefts and rights. Laura’s legs get loosened for a few seconds and she staggers away, but Emmanuelle swings wildly after her and ends up hitting Laura in the butt! Laura spins around with a cry of fury as referee steps in to scold Emmanuelle who can be heard mumbling through her swollen lips: “It was an accident! She moved too fast!” Laura regains her composure (after all, it was more an insult than an effective punch and goes at Emmanuelle, but the O & E fighter has her own guard to and manages to thwart Laura’s vengeful efforts.

R5: Laura on the attack from the start this round, but Emmanuelle has the same idea and the two are obliged to swing away freely trying to decide the issue. Emmanuelle has found a fresh target in Laura’s breasts giving the blonde something else to feel indignant about. Laura banging to the body, but answers the breast attack with a melon mauling of her own., Emmanuelle gasping for breath as her lungs are emptied in in the course of Laura jug bombardment. Laura pounds belly to make it even harder for Emmanuelle to suck in air, but then she gets too loose with her defense and Emmanuelle clips on her on the chin with a defensive uppercut. Laura now falling back on trembling legs, but Emmanuelle is slow to gather herself for the pursuit. Laura is able pull her defenses together and battle Emmanuelle’s counterattack. Great back and forth action, but Laura gradually landing more often than Emmanuelle, enough to enable to win the round on points.

R6: Two are back dueling at mid ring, though they are moving around quite a bit as they attempt to find some leverage to get the best striking positions. Laura is working Emmanuelle’s body a lot of the time, but mainly to find gaps in Emmanuelle’s upper defenses. Whenever she finds a gap, Laura drives a punch in that catches Emmanuelle in the face or the side of the head. Emmanuelle’s face is slowly starting to lump up, but the O & E fighter is not backing down. She is more interested in breaking down Laura’s body. Laura taking this punishment and dishing out an increasing amount of punching on the brunette. Emmanuelle finally forced back, fighting stubbornly but she is increasingly shuddering under the impact of  Laura’s punching.  Laura takes the round by a solid margin at the bell.

R7: Emmanuelle realizes she is losing ground to Laura and tries to get back with all-out effort early in the round. Laura looks swamped at first and gets her head bounced around, but she jabs back with increasing determination to knock Emmanuelle’s head back repeatedly. Emmanuelle’s offensive slows and then Laura moves to a counteroffensive of her own. Laura strikes first with deep hooks into Emmanuelle’s battered midsection, then blasts home a series of uppercuts. Emmanuelle dancing backwards doesn’t go down as she bangs into the ropes, but Laura spears her with a left hook to the belly and then as she tips forward, she brings uppercuts into Emmanuelle’s wide-open face. Emmanuelle head flips back in a spray of sweat which Laura ignores to lift more uppercuts into that chin. Emmanuelle up on the toes of her boots and Laura bangs away to the belly. Emmanuelle folds over on top of Laura who pushes her back against the ropes. Emmanuelle’s legs give out and she crashes to her right side parallel to the bottom rope. Her left arm is somehow hanging over the bottom strand, but she can’t seem to use it to pull herself up, Instead she just lays there, face turned so that her cheek rests against the canvas as the referee counts her out.

The Winner: Laura Vandervoort KO7

After:  Hard-hearted Laura strips off her gloves and marches over to the Odds and Ends corner to pull a freshly revived though still groggy Emmanuelle to her feet. Laura marches Emmanuelle around the ring in a Walk of Shame punctuated by Laura “urging” Emmanuelle along with punches to the bottom. Emmanuelle too dazed to fight back and Laura ends the full circuit of the ring by pushing Emmanuelle into the arms of her outraged corner people.

“No one gets away with trying to embarrass me!” Laura angrily declares. “She’s lucky that’s all I did to her. If she or Odds and Ends don’t like it—my number’s in the book!”

“She is a bully, pure and simple!” an outraged Emmanuelle Vaugier later complains to the press. “She knows I only hit her fat butt because it got in the way of my punch. If she thinks this over between us, she’s wrong—very wrong!”

Action packed fight with a decisive win for Laura Vandervoort, but fight as a whole had left a bad taste in the mouth of Emmanuelle Vaugier and the O & E organization. Exactly what the result of the ill-will stirred up by this bout cannot now be known, but the fans are already enjoying the possibilities in their social media comments post-fight.
