Berenice Marlohe's stock has dropped ever since she was defeated by Emmy Rossum and now Monica Bellucci has taken over the buxom brunette Bond girl duties which means the French vixen needs a big win to remind everyone why she was so highly rated just last year. She takes on another shapely brunette Rebecca Hall who floats around the bottom of Lookout! Atlantic's order of merit but despite her long inactivity period she still has the backing of one of the best female boxing stables around the world and Marlohe shouldn't underestimate the English actress at any cost. The Rossum experiece was painful enough already!
Rebecca Hall wears a black basque top, white knickers and pink gloves. Berenice Marlohe wears a blue basque top, white knickers and red gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Marlohe sets the early pace and outworks the slightly cautious Hall in both close and mid-range as she searches her rhythm and finds it when she slams a jabbing series up high and slices Rebecca's mitts to snap her head back. She adds more facial punishment before Hall clinches her and shoves away but the next tangle has Berenice on top again and pumping more leather on the cheeks. Hall in escape mode thereafter, she manages to avoid further trouble and allows the French brunette to only graze her forearms but fails to land any meaningful punches herself.
Round 2:
Berenice's too accurate to lose another exchange and she digs well into Rebecca's cheeks but finally stumbles upon a belting hook to the ribs as the English actress switches her targets and finds the success low. She keeps drilling Marlohe's guts and jumps to the side when the Bond girl oozes some anger and tries to plain dissect her boobs, the effort comes up short and wobbles Berenice into a riffling series over the top and Hall suddenly finds the opening to bounce off the brow ridge and reel the older woman back. She refuses to charge in though and avoids walking into a looping hook that Berenice threw from the backyard; both women circle around each other but prefer to see out the round instead of jumping in another tangle.
Round 3:
The opening minute is full of ugly clinches and rabbit shots to the kidneys as both women seem to lose their plot before Rebecca recovers with a sinking hook to the jaw that Berenice never saw coming! The English girl throws a flurry of shots on the face thereafter but the accuracy fails to match the effort and Berenice's able to escape before mounting a comeback; she dominates the mid-range again and tags Hall with single punches to keep her at bay. More brawling down the stretch, Rebecca's keen to close up and find more jabs to the ribcage but gets nailed by a high swinging and has to retreat as Marlohe ups her work rate in the dying seconds and almost has Hall stumbling against the turnbuckle just before the clock expires.
Round 4:
More overhand jabbing secures Marlohe's success but Hall refuses to buckle early and digs into the ribcage and has the Bond girl moaning after a heavy hook to the liver area. Rebecca shows some muscle and shoves the French actress away and Berenice fails to regain her balance as she gets whipped on the eye by a straight jab before Hall moves against her rack and pounds back to the ropes. Sizzling uppercuts from the younger brunette enforce a desperate cover but it's no good to protect the guts as Rebecca switches lower and lower and almost spikes Marlohe's waist line to cause a small controversy. Berenice tries to punch herself from the ropes but the accuracy for once deserts her and Hall slams a cross hook on the nose to silence her and lands another uppercut to the jaw with Marlohe's guard looking very suspicious all of the sudden.
Round 5:
Hall manages to square up to the Bond girl early and whack her on the ribs to dominate the opening exchange and prevent Marlohe from stretching her elbows properly. She digs at the navel and threatens to bounce off the jugs; Berenice steps back misses a counter hook and gets wrenched by a piercing straight jab on the nose instead. Hall's urged by her entourage to pile on the pressure and she obeys; a furious tangle ensues in the second minute of the round where Berenice gets pushed butt-in-ropes and begins to bleed from her nose as she ate a couple of strong hooks from Hall who has all the precision now and just bats away at the older brunette and keeps her trapped, it only gets worse down the stretch as Rebecca finds the temples and has Berenice's head rocking side to side at the bell with the French brunette stumbling to the side after the ref drags the Lookout! actress away!
Round 6:
Marlohe's much slower across the canvas now as Hall resumes the facial barrage and can easily slip into close range action. She drills the breadbasket to set up a jabbing series high and Berenice's guard is truly falling apart within seconds. Hall nails her with a heavy left hand on the mouth and adds a right hook on the eye that earns Marlohe a juicy shiner... the French girl sags on the ropes and only soaks up punishment thereafter; she gets drilled by another forceful hook on the nose that opens the bleeding again and Hall's romping away on the temples... she rocks Marlohe's head side to side and the screams are getting very loud now and the Bond girl falls apart in wake of the brutal onslaught... DOWN GOES MARLOHE... Rebecca just punched her to the canvas with a huge flurry of leather and Berenice's down on her side looking dizzy and bleeding badly from her busted up nose. She gets up at seven and nods back to the ref but as soon as the action resumes her knees give way and enable Hall to land a massive one-two on the eye to slice the guard apart and just whip her against the ropes; Berenice tries to escape but to no avail and Rebecca nails her on the liver area to half-turn her against the ropes and lands one more uppercut on the chin to SEND HER CRASHING DOWN ON HER BACK... epic barrage from the English brunette who struts back to the neutral corner but Marlohe's left horizontal on the canvas with eyes closed and fails to respond to the count... KO6 Rebecca Hall !!!!
AFTER: That was some finish to keep the Lookout! Atlantic 100% record alive tonight! Rebecca took a while to get going but once she dwarfed Berenice's mid-distance superiority she unloaded some heavy shots that simply tore the French actress apart! One might say that's an upset result but Hall's lack of frequent activity leaves the BBU fans and experts coy on what she's really capable of. She definitely needs more opportunities next year!
On the other hand, is this a one-off result for Marlohe? Well, the defeat to Emmy Rossum was supposed to be one-off already and somewhere out there Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci must be smiling to see their Bond girl enemy getting wrecked like that! Because contrary to the popular belief every Bond girl likes to be judged as the best ever and Berenice's got some loaded European contingent to deal with, heck, even Sophie Marceau brags about coming out of retirement just to whoop Marlohe's guts! And there's every chance Carla Bruni - albeit never a Bond girl herself - will try to keep Berenice's lousy streak going even before the Bastille Day!
