NEW YEAR'S BOPPIN' EVE AT THE ASYLUM

BEFORE:

"Oh, I get this," says Sarah, eyes shining. "Front Street needs another win for a flyweight, so bring in Sarah. I get it. Stewart, Spears, Graham. And, oh, look, Meester's here now, too. And now they have a new girl and guess who they drag in to get her her first win? Well, tonight's the night Sarah flips the script."

"This is very exciting for me," says Jane with the hint of a smile. "Starting my Front Street career has been a long time coming. But, believe me, I understand how short that career can be if I don't get the job done. So, as I excited as I'll be to drink it all in going down the aisle for the first time, once I step into the ring, it's going to be all business."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'You're The Only One' by Maria Mena and here comes the lovely Sarah Hyland..."

McCarthy: "Again, a typical Dancing Hooker opponent. No FCBA wins. Five losses. FOUR to Front Street girls..."

Cassie: "Well, not really. Leighton Meester was at Lookout! when she fought Hyland..."

McCarthy: "That's a technicality, and you know it, Scabbo..."

Cassie: "Actually, it's a FACT. Foreign to you, I know, but..."

McCarthy: "And you know what's worse? Not only does this tomato can have no FCBA wins, her OPPONENT doesn't have one, either. Who but the Weirdo books a fight between fighters with ZERO wins between them? Is this what I, the Greatest Fighting Playmate of All-Time and a first-ballot Hall Of Famer have been reduced to? Siri, call my agent!"

Cassie: "Um, you're not IN the Hall Of Fame..."

Tess: "Thaaaaaanks, BFF..."

McCarthy: "That's because I've been ROBBED of my rightful place among the TRUE GREATS of this sport! And I'm not standing for it any longer! I DEMAND that my BUST be immediately enshrined..."

Cassie: "I think your BUST is enshrined in the Silicone Hall Of Fame..."

McCarthy: "SHUT IT, SCABBO! I demand entry into the Hall Of Fame! The Hall Of Fame is a SHAM without me! I'll sue! I'll sue! Siri, call my LAWYER!"

Siri: "I'm still trying to get your agent, you BIMBO..."

McCarthy: "YOU CAN'T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT YOU STUPID PHONE! I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO YOUR BOSS! SIRI, CALL STEVE!"

Siri: "Which Steve?"

McCarthy: "Not the one who passed away! The FAT one!"

O'Dell(sighing): "Just a note to my bartender. I'll be taking my drinks straight tonight. Straight from the bottle. Hyland into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal that black bikini she likes, and that's 'Pleasant Nightmare' by Alih Jey, and here comes 'The Marin County Marauder', Jane Levy!"

McCarthy: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE WON'T TAKE MY CALL? DOES HE KNOW WHO I AM???"

Tess: "I'm guessing the answer is 'yes', and that's why he won't take your call..."

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, WALMART! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! YOU AND YOUR STUPID HALL OF FAME!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, as Jane climbs into the ring for her FCBA debut. Helped off with the ring by Jewel and Neve..."

Cassie: "Who's IN the Hall Of Fame..."

McCarthy: "It's a tragedy of justice, that's what it is! That loser Campbell in the Hall Of Fame while, I, the Greatest Fighting Playmate of All Time and the Playmate Of The Freakin' CENTURY am denied admittance! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS! I'M GOING OVER EVERYONE'S HEAD! SIRI, CALL HEF!"

O'Dell: "IF we could concentrate on the ring, Levy wearing a peach bikini that shows off a body that's clearly been worked into top shape for her first FCBA competition. The ladies are about ready, so let's get some pics. Tess favors Jane. Mac..."

McCarthy: "Hi, Hef, this is Mac. Give me a call back when you get this..."

O'Dell: "MAC!"

McCarthy: "Hold on, I'm on the PHONE..."

O'Dell: "You're ON LIVE TV! PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND MAKE A PICK!"

McCarthy: "Who CARES? They're both terrible! Why should a HALL OF FAMER like me have to call fights like this? SIRI, CALL MY AGENT!"

Cassie: "That THUNK you fans just heard was Jenny O facepalming herself..."

O'Dell(doing some deep breathing to calm down): "Cassie? What do you think?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess..."

O'Dell: "Please bell, ring. AND THERE IT IS.. Hyland wants to box as usual, and she's right to the jab, moving the feet, bouncing on her toes..."

Cassie: "Back to what we've seen from Sarah in the past after breaking from that gameplan against Kreuk last time out."

O'Dell: "Jane not having any. Levy in a quarter crouch, hands high, head bobbing, working her way in and banging body, working her way up, then back down. Hyland clinching, doesn't want to fight in her. Forces a break and gets some space, but Levy right back in her grill, working forward past Sarah's glove and going the body..."

Tess: "You know who this reminds me of? This style Levy's showing?"

McCarthy: "Don't you mention..."

Tess: "Allison..."

McCarthy: "DON'T YOU DARE!!!"

Cassie: "'Mack The Knife Mack?"

McCarthy: "YOU LITTLE..."

Tess: "Why, YES, BFF, Allison Mack..."

McCarthy: "WILL YOU TWO STOP MENTIONING THAT FRAUD AND GIMMICK-STEALING PHONY!"

O'Dell: "Now, calm DOWN, Mac. And, yes, there's definitely a similarity in style. Levy likes the hooks, works the crouch, likes to bang inside, and she's making all of that work for her at the moment..."

Tess: "Jane's very athletic, played college soccer for those of you who don't know, and you can see how great her feet are. Hyland's moving well, but Levy able to cut her off, get in, and bang."

O'Dell: "Indeed, she is, and she's continuing to do it down the stretch. Hyland clinching, shoving off, trying to get space, but Jane not giving her any. Crowding and scoring to the body right to the bell. Excellent first for Levy."

Tess: "Not a bad way to start a career, with a 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Levy back to work in the second, pressuring Hyland, working past her defenses, cutting her off, then banging body with those hooks. Any of you ladies surprised that a girl as athletic as Levy is using this pressure style?"

Cassie: "Not really, Jenny. If you've ever sparred with her, and I have, you know Jane can hit. She can stick and jab and move if she wants to, but this is probably a good strategy against Hyland. Jane hits harder, so, bring that power to bear."

McCarthy: "I'm not surprised by ANYthing the morons at Front Street do..."

O'Dell: "Levy in a nice rhythm now, closing and banging. Working from the body to the head and back. Hyland banging back now. Trying to punch for respect, but Jane not giving her any. The redhead right in the brunette's grill."

Tess: "Levy keeping those hands up, getting them back quickly. She's very sound defensively for a fighter in her first FCBA fight."

O'Dell: "She certainly is catching a lot of punches on her arms and gloves. Hyland active, but not very effective. Jane, on the other hand, getting the work done, banging that midsection, thumping those ribs, using uppercuts upstairs when Hyland crouches to try to cover the body. Good stuff from Levy bell to bell and she's taken her second straight round."

Tess: "20-18 after two. Corner looks pleased, and it should be."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third underway and Levy again wants to work inside. Hyland tying her up quickly now, wrestling around in there, forcing a break. Sarah giving a little ground as Jane works forward, getting the jab home, then tying up Levy as she gets in close..."

Cassie: "Jane trying to punch out of this. She's the stronger of the two girls, but Sarah's smart. She's wrapping around the head, which is forcing the ref to break."

O'Dell: "And that gives Hyland the space she wants to jab and work in rights as Jane comes forward. Levy resolute. Cutting the ring and going body, but Sarah keeping those exchanges very short now. Putting Jane in a side headlock and forcing the referee to break them."

McCarthy: "The ref needs to tell CAMPBELL to shut her ugly pie hole! She's making a bunch of noise about Hyland's tactics..."

O'Dell: "The Front Street corner is not at all happy about what's going on, that's for sure, but Hyland's making it work, taking away what was working for Jane and creating more opportunities to box at range. Into the final seconds now, and Levy inside to land a couple of hooks, but she's tied up again. She shoves Sarah back and there's an exchange of glares at the bell. Hyland's on the board."

Tess: "29-28 for Levy after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "We're into the fourth and this thing is beginning to look like a wrestling match on the inside. Levy determined to work in close, and Hyland not going to allow it, tying up around the head, trapping the redhead's arms, forcing breaks to get space."

McCarthy: "This is where experience comes in. Hyland's only had a handful of fights, but she's BEEN in an FCBA ring, she's BEEN on pay-per-view, she's had to adjust and try to renegotiate terms, and she's doing that right now."

O'Dell: "Levy, on the other hand, getting a bit frustrated as Sarah continues to deny her efforts to bang body and work inside. Front Street corner telling the redhead to shove off, get physical in there, and that's what Jane's doing. She's working to get free and score, while Sarah's working for those breaks."

Cassie: "And the key is what Hyland does with the breaks. She's getting punches home while Jane closes, offsetting the work Levy's getting done in close."

O'Dell: "Into the final 30 seconds now, and both girls working hard. Levy thumping the belly and ribs, Hyland trapping her head, getting a break, scoring with jabs at range. Final ticks come off the clock and there's the bell. Close, but Sarah."

Tess: "And we're all even at 38. Good, competitive fight so far."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth underway and a change of tactics for Levy. Jane not trying to work forward now, wants to square and box with Hyland. Sarah more than willing to fight on these terms. Using the left to set up everything, finding Levy with it and then hooking or crossing off it."

McCarthy: "Levy too tentative out there. She's waiting too long to get off. Moving the feet, trying to get to spots, but, before she lets the hands go, Sarah's getting off."

O'Dell: "Hyland getting into a rhythm now. Hands out and back. 'A' leads to 'B' and then to 'C'. Levy mostly standing and watching right now, waiting her turn, and her turn isn't coming. Instead Sarah in complete control, picking Levy apart..."

Tess: "Mac's right. Levy's got to get busy. She's got to get off. She's letting Sarah do whatever she wants..."

O'Dell: "And, what Sarah wants to do is box. She's moving well side to side, stepping forward for quick flurry, ducking a counter, sliding away, firing again. This is VERY good stuff from Hyland, who looks improved from the last time we saw her. Final seconds expire, and there's ther round. Wide for Hyland, who's now on the lead."

Cassie: "48-47 for Sarah, who's now won three in a row."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth underway and Levy's back to working forward..."

Tess: "I'm not surprised, because she got quite the talking to between rounds..."

O'Dell: "And she's taking that 'advice' from Neve and Jewel to heart, back to bobbing her way forward, cutting the ring, and banging away inside. Hyland again looking to tie up, Levy shoving her off to stay alive in there, Sarah clinching, forcing a break."

Cassie: "Levy right back at Hyland, willing to wrestle with her now, wants to get as much work in as she can before the referee steps in..."

O'Dell: "Hyland tying up the arms. Levy punching free and SHE ROCKS SARAH WITH A RIGHT HAND! Hyland staggered with a short right hook! And Levy going all in after the brunette, sending her stumbling back to the ropes, banging away with both hands..."

McCarthy: "Getting a little wild. No surprise with a tyro, but Hyland keeping the guard up, picking off punches, rolling the head and shoulders to avoid others..."

O'Dell: "Levy letting 'em go and she's landing some good shot, piling up some points, but Hyland jabbing back, clinching, running clock, not allowing a complete clean up. Levy digs some body now, trying to bring the guard down, but Sarah not having it. Final seconds tick down and there's the bell. Jane wide but Hyland survives."

Tess: "And it's 57-57 with four to go."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh begins with Levy even more aggressive. She's boring in on Sarah, looking to consolidate, and she's getting it done, backing Hyland up, shoving her off when she tries to clinch, working body, thumping away."

Cassie: "Jane seems to have adjusted pretty well to what Sarah was trying to do on the inside. Hyland still getting some breaks, but Levy getting a lot more done."

O'Dell: "That, she is, and JANE ROCKS SARAH WITH A LEFT HOOK! Hyland staggered. Levy going all in and DOWN GOES SARAH! Hyland on her back after a nasty flurry from the redhead."

McCarthy: "Three really good punches in that barrage..."

O'Dell: "Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Sarah to her feet at eight. Takes the mandatory and here comes Levy! Jane going to work body, backing Sarah up as she works her way up to the head. Hyland on the ropes taking. Trying to tie up and run clock, keeping the guard high. Levy banging away more soundly now. Setting things up better. But Hyland again hanging on to the bell. There it is and that's the seventh. Sarah survives, but Levy's in the lead."

Tess: "67-65 with three to go."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth begins with more aggression from Levy. Jane looking to finish now, but Hyland immediately tying up the head, forcing a break. Sarah seems to have her legs back as she's moving now as Jane tries to work forward, circling and jabbing, making Levy work."

McCarthy: "Levy maybe getting too aggressive here. She's not working hard enough to avoid punches on the way in, allowing Hyland to score, and, when she gets in there, she's trying for bombs, rather than working body. She's not scoring as much before Hyland ties her up."

O'Dell: "But she IS scoring. Levy getting some leather home when she's in close. Sarah again trying to limit, hanging on in the clinches to force breaks, and getting her work done at range."

Tess: "Got to like the guts being shown by Hyland here. She took a pasting the last two rounds, but she's not folding up."

O'Dell: "She is not. She's competing hard here, and she's having some success both scoring on the outside and limiting Levy's chances on the inside. Jane getting back to working some body down the stretch. Ten seconds to go. Tie up by Sarah. Clean break. A final flurry and the bell. Close. Hyland."

Cassie: "76-75. Anybody's fight with two left."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Ninth begins and the terms are set. Levy wants the inside and Hyland wants the outside and both know how to get what they want. Jane bobs forward and cuts the ring with excellent footwork..."

Cassie: "And, you know, if Sarah had a less athletic girl in front of her, I suspect she could find a lot more space. And, when she has space, she's very effective..."

O'Dell: "Indeed, she is. And you can see that as Levy works forward. Hyland finding range and scoring, then immediately tying up Jane as she gets inside, getting a break as quickly as she can..."

McCarthy: "Which is also smart stuff from Hyland. There might be hope for this kid. Of course, there's NONE for Levy, considering she's saddled with management that doesn't know what it's doing..."

O'Dell: "Jane digging body inside. She's concentrating a lot more there this round. Hyland willing to bang back briefly before the tie up, concentrating again around the head, locking it up to force the referee to break. Down the stretch, and, again, both women having their moments and neither able to grab control. Final seconds tick away and there's the bell. Another close one to Sarah."

Tess: "And we're all even at 85 with one, winner-take-all round to go!"

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Tenth and final and it's all on the line. Hyland quickly to the jab, wants to circle. Still has plenty of leg even in the tenth. Sarah giving some ground, making Jane work to close. Levy cutting the ring...AND STAGGERING HYLAND WITH A RIGHT HOOK!"

Cassie: "Dropped it right over the left hand. Timed it right over the jab!"

O'Dell: "Sarah's legs wobbly and Levy taking full advantage. Jane not so much backing Hyland up as she is pursuing as Sarah gives ground. Levy pins the brunette to the ropes and gets the leather going. She's banging body here as Hyland keeps the guard high..."

Tess: "Levy showing some smarts, Jenny. She doesn't need a knockdown here. She needs the round and the way to get it is to score."

O'Dell: "And Levy doing plenty of that to the unprotected body. Hyland tying up now, trying to get some space. Levy punching free, works upstairs some and then back down. Sarah trying to firm up and bang back, but Levy very, very busy in there, keeping her on the defensive, upping the work rate as we come down the stretch. The redhead banging away right to the bell! Wide round for Levy, which means..."

McCarthy: "If our cards are right, she wins 95-94 with the knockdown the difference."

O'Dell: "Decision coming back now, and, as usual, our ladies have scored this correctly and your winner by UD10, 'The Marin County Marauder', Jane Levy!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Jane Levy, and, Jane, it's got to feel good to get the first one..."

Jane(smiling): "I waited a long time to get this chance, and I didn't want it to get away. She boxed very well and I had to work hard to beat her. I knew it was close going into the last round. My corner told me I needed it, so I had to find a way to get it."

Tess(smiling): "I usually ask what's next..."

Jane: "Another fight! I don't care who the opponent is. Just get me back in here!"
