The inaugural BBU card outside Europe has turned into a disaster for the Front Street Japan hosts who were forced to witness highly respected Haruna Yabuki and Sayuki Matsumoto punched into jelly beans by their opponents and there's only Mikie Hara capable of salvaging the Asian pride in the last but very much not the least duell of the night. The formidable BBU flyweight champion has been inacvtive for almost a year after Samia Ghadie pulled out of the title fight last fall and decided to pursue a career in the United States instead but a replacement was eventually found in Ashley Mulheron, the Scottish blonde being undefeated in seven carrer fights to date and looking to join older sister Tiffany as the only siblings to ever hold the coveted divisional title belts.
Ashley dislocated Tisha Merry's jaw almost a month ago to indicate she can be as equally brutal as effective and doesn't come as a huge underdog based on the fact Hara fought only once last year and her reputation of the hardest punching flyweight in BBU needs verification. Whether Mulheron finds out about it the hard way remains to be seen but Jenna-Louise Coleman has placed herself right in the front row for this one and there's little doubt she will be handed the next title shot regardless of who wins this bout. Tiffany Mulheron has arrived to support her younger sister and is present in the Foxfire Atlantic corner as her own title challenge looks quite solid too especially after a huge win over the crowd-pleasing and always menacing Gemma Merna earlier this week. With Jorgie Porter out of the title hunt, Coleman and Tiffany remain the two most serious contenders unless Samia Ghadie decides to make a cameo return to Europe first?
That's less important now as Ashley Mulheron enters the ring first wearing a red bikini set and black gloves. Mikie Hara joins her a couple of minutes later wearing a lacy black bikini top, white boy-legs trunks and red gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds for the lineal BBU flyweight title.
Round 1:
Ashley shows no signs of respect as she tears into the champion's guts but gets countered over the top with Mikie punching her cheeks in confident fashion and snapping the head back; Hara wins the early tangle and forces the blonde into retreat before clubbing her with more menacing swings and finding a gap in the high guard. Ashley tries to close right up after getting pummelled in mid-range but this only enables Mikie to punish her ribcage instead as the cnhampion opens from both wings and digs into the Scottish girl's soft tissue. Ashley absorbs the heavy jabbing and rips a straight jab on the nose; adds a hook on the temple and remains in hot pursuit of the champion with both girls trading vicious leather for remainder of the round in mind-over-matter fashion.
Round 2:
The Foxfire Atlantic seems to support the aggressive tactics which threaten to blow right back in their face according to Denise van Outen but Ashley digs her mitts into Hara's guts again and settles in the close range to surprise an otherwise fearsome champion. Both girls keep pounding away at each other before Mikie finds the ribcage assault more suitable and wrenches the blonde to the side and tries to back her into the ropes. Mulheron flicks overhand response and smacks Mikie's cheeks but still has to step back and deke away from the champion's leather who speeds up to punish her breadbasket and is unfortunate not to make more inroads. Mulheron circles back and slows the action down as Hara stares at her with pure disdain but she refuses to charge at her again knowing it's the challenger's responsibility to make all the moves especially in front of a hostile crowd.
Round 3:
And Mulheron's making the moves alright in the opening minute of the third round as she slips underneath a hooking approach and pummels the ribcage trying to throw the champion off her comfort zone. Mikie cross hooks the high guard but fails to connect and gets reeled on the heels as the blonde harpoons the liver area and forces Hara backwards, a scything hook bounces off the chin and pins her to the ropes before she can escape in the very last second as Ashley was flying in with leather already. Both girls settle in mid-range next and refuse to engage in any furious actions as Mikie keeps her focus and allows Mulheron to blink first and mount a late charge but this time the guard holds up well and prevents the Scottish lass from making any success.
Round 4:
Mulheron keeps the pressure on the champion but her jabbing crashes off the guard now and lets Hara counter the blonde over the top and snap her head back repeatedly as Mikie ups the intensity and outworks the challenger in close range. A switch on the ribcage brings Ashley temporary success but is voided when Mikie slams a left/right cross right between her arms and bounces off the lips to send the Scottish actress backing into the ropes. A pulverizing left hook nails the challenger on the ribs and traps her in a desperate cover with Hara working both sides on the head and slowly but surely slicing the guard and adding more head snaps in the dying seconds of the round.
Round 5:
Ashley's not so keen to stalk the Asian anymore but Mikie has other ideas and tears into her cleavage with a pacey onslaught and thumps some extra on the ribcage again. Mulheron tries to clinch her to bide some time but is wrestled back and eats a looping left hand on the nose before Mikie fires a right cross on the nose and sends the blonde bouncing off the ropes. Ashley's mounds get clobbered with a riffling right hand and Hara moves up high and bruises the cheeks with the Scottish actress aching loudly and clearly struggling to live with this kind of display. Hara shatters her guard and thumps unanswered leather on the face, sinks the challenger deep on her knees and reverts into pounding her guts out thereafter; the proud blonde sagging and aching badly at the bell.
Round 6:
More furious jabs from Hara wreck Mulheron's guard and rough her up in close range exchange in the middle of the ring; Ashley weaves around on her feet and gets pummelled back & forth soaking up brutal leather and scowls in pain as Hara tears the skin under the left eye and snaps the head back. Mulheron stumbles back and is pinned in the corner - even Tiffany's screams from the Foxfire corner can't prevent what's happening next - Mikie flies in with a crunching right hook and nails the aching blonde on the nose to slump her head down, a textbook uppercut finds the jaw moments later and whips Ashley's head back up, but that also relieves her from any resistance and the knees just give way... BLONDE GIRL DOWN... Mikie finds the breakthrough and sends the actress for the count... Mulheron grabs the ropes on her way up but gets pinned back to the corner as Hara blasts more leather across her face and snaps the blonde hair around the neck with a vicious display that dismantles the defence for good... Ashley rocking and squealing, the Tokyo Dome Arena on their feet as Hara pounds away to glory and buries the Scottish lass under a massive barrage, pounds the mouthguard right off Mulheron and slams a coup de grace with a left hook on the nose that simply ragdolls the challenger to the side... Ashley's down in a smokin' heap unable to withstand the champion's wrath... ref wants to give her a chance but Mulheron's a battered wreck out there unable to rise again.. KO6 and STILL the BBU flyweight champion Mikie Hara!!!
AFTER: Mikie in strictly business pose, only glances at the fallen blonde who's all busted up on her first career losing experience. Meanwhile Tiffany scampers through the ropes to console and help her younger sister into any sort of recovery before shouting at the Japanese champion who only stares at her while having her gloves removed and not even pretending to understand a word of English. Tiffany tackles the champ and grab a hold of her bikini cups but gets immiediately wrestled away by Yakuza-like security crew which crowds Mikie into safety for a brief second. However Mikie picks her flyweight belt and walks through them to the center of the ring and wraps it across her chest and smiles back in a strange way at the Mulheron siblings, Ashley's still out of her senses and Tiffany too concerned and too proud of her own record to blow her fuse again.
There's also Jenna-Louise Coleman sitting ringside and while Tiffany failed to spot her, Mikie makes no such ommission and flicks her fingers across the golden markings on the championship belt and nods back at the brunette actress in "You want this? Come and get it" kind of fashion. The Title Fight Night might have suffered a couple of severe setbacks for the Front Street Japan hosts but they retain the flyweight belt and Mikie Hara is still odds on favorite to keep it that way for a while even though Denise van Outen seems tired of the fact no single BBU title is currently held by UK fighters. Will that change anytime soon?
