Michelle Williams and Vanessa Hudgens
(Flyweight Title Press Conference)
(Words by HISC / Lookout!)

As the assembled members of the press are waiting outside, the air is heavy and thick with tension and that's even before the two rivals appear to discuss their hotly anticipated upcoming Flyweight Championship title belt, which will also serve as a de facto Best of 7 between them. Rivals may not even be truly the right word for these two. True rivalries in the FCBA have grown rare at times, but Vanessa and Michelle certainly live up to the name as it took some serious negotiating just to get them to appear in the same room together.

The same ring, together, was a different matter altogether as rivals didn't seem to describe them enough. Adversaries, antagonists, enemies, nemeses and combatants in a war for what both viewed as the future of the league is how they were described in numerous media pieces written over the years describing their rivalry and it all started, as many things do, from the most humble of beginnings, when Mishy challenged Vanessa to a match back in 2011.

By most accounts, Michelle viewed this match as a given, a surefire victory by a Hall of Famer over a member of the so-called “Disney Divas”, a name given to them by those who viewed them as a disease infecting the league and that must be stopped immediately. Among those who held that view was Michelle Williams and she was going to put a stop to it at once. However, at the end of the night, it was Vanessa Hudgens who triumphed with a decision in the tenth round.

Michelle, despite the result, managed to come back next Pay-Per View, to shrug off the loss and win the Flyweight Championship from Scarlett Johansson. Determined this time to really end this Disney invasion and swing the balance of power back into the proper direction, her first title defense was scheduled to be against none other than Vanessa Hudgens. However, in a shocking loss that really signaled the rise of Vanessa Hudgens, she lost her second match in a row via another close decision and perhaps more importantly, the flyweight title to legitimize the Disney world instead.

This was certainly too much and could not be tolerated! Mishy waited patiently and stalking Hudgens like a jungle predator out in the Savannah, by the end of the year, Williams had blazed a path through many young ingenues to take on Vanessa Hudgens. This time, she would triumph and this time, she did – in another close decision that ensured Michelle would not go quietly into the proverbial good night. Nessa did not take this well and in fact, challenged Michelle for a match that would strike at one of the proudest parts of Michelle's legacy – a Jugs of Mass Destruction (JMD) match. Some Apartment House Wrestling (AHW) tape surfaced as well towards the end of the year between them to ensure the flames of their rivalry remained hotter than ever.

Michelle, while perhaps not being as prominently endowed as some combatants in this specialty JMD match, had significant success over the years and would not accept somebody as Vanessa Hudgens challenging her for jug supremacy, especially after all the veterans she had victoriously jugged out over the years. Michelle planned to add Vanessa to their number and after a vicious match between the two, Williams had. Michelle smothered out her challenger and in her mind, any aspirations for Vanessa in the league. As she declared after the match, “That is damn well that...”

And so it seemed as if order had been restored to the league, but alas, the peace for Michelle Williams was not destined to last. That, was not in fact, damn well that as a battle between them at the Academy Awards and further apartment house wrestling bouts proved. Indeed, Vanessa did not appear to have any intentions of going away and so, it was time to settle this for Williams to be able to neutralize this growing thorn in her side. Vanessa Hudgens was a nuisance and the time had come for her fifteen minutes of fame to come to an abrupt halt. Another match took place between them and at the end of thirty minutes, Vanessa's fame had grown as she emerged victorious over Michelle once again as it Vanessa's turn to declare her foe “finished.”

Indeed, many thought that she was. But, at the end of the following year, with the two of them building up to yet another war, another installment of what had become one of the biggest rivalries in the league took place and in this particular battle, Mishy proved that she was not close to being done as she defeated Vanessa in a close match and followed up with some particularly devastating post-match humiliation to ensure not just Hudgens, but the entire league knew that.

Last year, both of them competed against other rivals, with the year culminating in Vanessa winning the flyweight championship and of course, there was only one option for her first title defense if she was going to prove herself: Michelle Williams. And now, the time had indeed come for a true winner to emerge from their career Best of 7 and much like Highlander, there can be only one. Would Michelle Williams secure a victory for the veterans and elite actresses everywhere, preserving the future of the league, ensure that her legacy would not be tarnished by another loss to the hated Hudgens and restore the flyweight title to its rightful place? Would Vanessa Hudgens be able to retain the flyweight title, ensure that her legacy was not a footnote to the stunning career of Williams, truly signal that the time for stars from Disney (and other networks not taken seriously) had truly arrived and prove that her oft-repeated claim as “Conqueror of Mishy” was indeed true?

Now was the time to find out. It all started now, as the two stars arrived to discuss this important bout between the two.

Mishy entered stage left dressed for Nessa’s funeral, the elfin blonde all in black, namely a tight cotton tanktop and skirt that ends not far under the curves of her behind.

Michelle entered with no musical accompaniment, the veteran all business as she walked purposefully to center stage to the sound of snap shots and the bustle of reporters.

Reaching her seat on the left side of the podium, Mish turned to the photogs and sternly ran her hands across her waist, making it clear where the flyweight gold will end up after the upcoming Pay Per View. She balled her hands into fists and gives each a smooch.

Michelle took a seat and turns to stage right for the entrance of the woman who had no doubt brought some of the greatest highs and lowest lows throughout the second half of her career. This match, some said, would be the culmination, success vaulting her to a glorious final act, failure staining her permanently as the ‘conquered by Nessa’ washed-up afterthought, passing the torch to a Vanessa in full bloom.

Michelle fidgeted, grinning nervously at the lenses pointed at her, then becoming noticeably perturbed, a Hall of Famer made to twiddle her thumbs for the title holder.

Vanessa forced Michelle to wait for a minute as music played over the loudspeakers, from Micheal Buble's hit “Feeling Good.” and just waiting out of sight as the opening strains played, but as the music played and built up, Vanessa Hudgens stepped out as the lyrics declared:

“It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good”

Vanessa was clearly intent on signaling that it was indeed, a new day, in the league as she didn't even look over at Michelle Williams as she stepped out towards the podium. If she had, of course, she would've seen Mishy's glare, which was downright murderous and she watched Vanessa hold the flyweight title aloft. Security staff were on hand to watch carefully as Vanessa flexed her muscles, beaming confidently as she was clad in a bright blue halter-style top that read “Conqueror of Mishy” in neon-pink letters and cut off high enough to show off her toned midriff as her intention to tummy up on her hated rival had been signaled well in advance. A pair of tight blue jeans covered her legs and a pair of white tennis shoes adorned her feet that carried her up to the podium, where Vanessa patted her abs with her left hand and a confident smirk, setting down the flyweight title between the two of them as cameras flash. With all eyes upon her, Vanessa winked over at Michelle, finally acknowledging her upcoming opponent with the words, “Enjoy the look at the title here, Mishy. This is as close as you're ever getting to it EVER again, understand?” All eyes turned to Michelle to see how she would respond as the tone for the press conference is set from the start.

Michelle’s hazel eyes bounce from the gold to Vanessa, lips pursed, a wisp of invisible steam arising from her ears as she’s forced to let Vanessa, as the champ take the lead in this media dance.

“What I understand,” Mishy said, keeping her tone low and measured. “is that if what you said actually happened I would have been left in your wake a long time ago. Things have changed over the course of our six matches.”

Michelle looked to have gulped down some distasteful bile to continue.

“I admit you’re not the Disney joke I thought you’d be. You’re more than that. But what you aren’t is someone who can beat me with everything on the line. You are not the Conqueror of Mishy no matter how many articles of clothing you wear or sell. And come the night of the Pay Per View, you will not be the undisputed flyweight champion.”

Vanessa responds with a condescending smile, "It's clear than you don't understand anything at all. People buy the 'Conqueror of Mishy' merchandise because they know it's true, because they believe that I'm the one who will finally destroy you and guess what? By the end of the night at the PPV, I will. Do you know what else I will be doing? Still walking around with the undisputed Flyweight Championship Belts and you will be lucky if you're going to be walking at all. Because I'm the freaking best and I'm going to leave making sure you know that!"

"Let me speak slowly so you...will...under...stand," Michelle growls. "I'm not going to beat you. I'm going to destroy you. I'm going to pound your body black and blue for three rounds. I'll unhinge your head for three more and then I'll put you on the deck in the 7th. Mark it down. And if you'd like a little preview, step on over here."

The assembled press was watching carefully between the two as the promoter stepped between the two, hastily offering to take questions from the press as the two of them glare at each other, then take their seats at separate tables as security steps in to intervene if necessary and create the necessary distance between them.

A reporter from BLONDE MAGAZINE is the first to ask, " While we all know it's a best of 7 and given your history, there is a lot of pride on the line, so just how important is this match for the two of you?" Unspoken but clearly understood from the blonde reporter is just how much blonde pride is at stake here. As such, Mishy responds first....

"I know what it means to keep these brunettes and their weakling cousins, the raven-haired set, in line. They're always pressuring, trying to usurp us at every turn and, at every turn they are turned back from the blonde fortress that is the FCBA." The BLONDE! scribe busily scratches at his pad. "I'm a general in the army that is going to continue to keep Vanessa and her like at bay. Only after this match, the other side's recruiters will have to find a replacement for Nessa because I'm going to make sure no blonde will ever have to worry about her again, short of a mud wrestling match at some county fair."

Vanessa grins, "Honestly, I don't think you can overstate how important this match is. I think your own magazine talked about this one being for the "future of the league" or something along those lines, which is actually pretty much true. " The reporter from Blonde Magazine's eyes widened and Vanessa laughed, "Of course i read your publication - got to keep up with what the enemy is saying, right?" as the press members laughed. Nessa beamed, then continued, "Michelle has always been threatened by me and in fact, downright jealous of what myself and all the stars from Disney and these other unheralded networks represent. We are the future of the league. Champions like myself..." as Hudgens reached down to pat the golden belt draped across the table, "Don't have to come from Oscar nominated films or the so-called "A List" anymore. We can come from anywhere at anytime and guess what? We are going to win!"

A press member from FIGHTING INGENUES asked up next, "Do you two have any idea of what has set the two of you apart in terms of your rivalry? The battle between young stars and veterans has played out so many times over the years, but getting to the top in this league is notoriously hard. Any thoughts on that?"

Vanessa jumped in first this time, "First of all, what I've done is no different from what many young stars have accomplished over the years and I'm honored to continue the legacy of so many ingenues have set up in this league. It's a very circular thing in this league where at one time, I'm sure Mishy was just starting out in this league and a struggling actress on a little show called Dawson's Creek, which aired on all places, the WB! Which, as you know is now the CW and pretty vilified around the league. But, you could say I was inspired by Mishy. Unfortunately, the circle continues as she's now the veteran and I'm the ingenue coming in to steal her spot. I'm sure the time will come when I'm the vet and some new star is going to try to come to steal my spot. Not today though - this is MY time and nobody is going to stand in my way. Not even the legendary Michelle Williams..."

"Thank you," Mishy interrupts. "You've finally got something right. I am legendary. I am a Hall of Famer. I am everything you're not nor will you ever be. And to show you how sure I am, you have your lawyers draw up the paperwork. I will beat you and claim our career best of seven or my career is over. If I cannot beat you with every single marble on the line, I deserve to be thrown out of this organization for good. Adios. Sayonara. Hasta la vista. Mark down every single word. Michelle Williams will retire if she cannot get it done against the likes of..." Mishy smirks and shakes her head, "...her."

The assembled press corps and even Vanessa Hudgens were left in stunned silence for a moment, both instances which were extremely rare in this league. As expected, however, it didn't last for long as reporters began shouting out questions for Michelle Williams, who had effectively stolen this press conference away from Nessa with her most recent announcement. Michelle stood there, one hand on her hips with that smirk across her lips as she wagged her finger with one hand as the fight promoter tried to regain control of the moment. Vanessa Hudgens started to speak up, but ass Michelle stood there, she held up a hand towards Vanessa and said loudly "Shush, Nessa.." and pointed to a reporter in the front row, smiling, "Do you have a question?"

A reporter from Knockouts by Knockouts Magazine spoke up over the buzz from the press corps and the fuming protests of Hudgens, "So, just to clarify, you're putting retirement on the line against Vanessa Hudgens in your upcoming match?"

"Did I stutter?" Michelle said with a smirk, "I am not going to repeat myself. You all heard it loud and crystal clear. I'm going to be there for the PPV and I plan on being there long after this PPV. For the flyweight title, for career Best of Seven, for pride, for all the marbles, for the future of the league, for retirement,- however you want to hype it, fine with me. But, once you get past all of that, all that matters is one of us is going to be the last one standing and it's not going to be her. I won't lose. Not this time, not with everything on the line and not to her. I won't lose."

Having said that and made things perfectly clear, Michelle got up, pushing away from the table as she strutted away from the press conference. Michelle sauntered over to the flyweight table, not even looking at Vanessa as she brushed her fingers over the flyweight title, "Don't worry - you'll be back where you belong soon enough!" and then strutted away after one last wink at the crowd, appearing confident and serene for somebody who had just put her career on the line against her biggest rival.

Vanessa also seemed strangely calm and possessed by a sense of fearless herself now as she leaned forward with a cool smirk, stating coolly for the press,, "Michelle Williams is finished in this league. Finished. Because once I'm through with her, there will be no question on where the future of this league and the flyweight division is going to be headed. It's going to be going through me and not her. Mark that down - the dawn of a new day is coming much sooner than you all thought. See you all Friday..." as Vanessa stood up to grab the flyweight title as she leaned down to the microphone one last time, "In the winner's circle. Count on it." as Vanessa flashed a smile and a peace sign, then strutted away with the flyweight title as it was clear neither competitor would be taking any more questions.

The promoter came to the forefront again in a vain bid to restore order, but it wasn't to be as a match that didn't seem like it could get any bigger certainly seemed to as the press conference escalated from building things up to potentially having significant ramifications on the future of the league. Members of the press rushed away to file their story immediately in the rapid news cycle of today, eager for a scoop as the buzz surrounding the flyweight title match had now become one of the biggest stories so far this year in the celebrity fight world. The questions swirled throughout the media in the news cycle heading into the PPV, such as would Michelle legitimately put her career on the line against Vanessa, would Vanessa be able to handle the pressure that came along with significantly increased stakes, and who would come out the winner between the two in this epic culmination of one of the biggest rivalries in the league? Only one thing was for certain and that was that nobody wanted to miss this upcoming flyweight title match with so much pride on the line in the seventh and perhaps final showdown between Vanessa Hudgens and Michelle Williams.
