Mandy Moore versus Bridget Regan
Welterweight Title

Before: Crowd still near riot proportions from the VanCamp – Woodley tilt as Mandy Moore takes to the podium. “Recent losing streak or not you can’t say I ducked the strength of the welter division when I picked Bridget for my first defense. She’s back on the rise, winning fights, and if you had dissected the Romijn or Nichols fights as many times as I have you’d see how strong she is. Still this isn’t a mutual admiration society. She’s back on the losing streak starting today.” Mandy states in matter of fact fashion.

“Well just like me, Mandy’s been here before and she knows how to handle a crowd like this one. I expect a strong fight from a well seasoned and talented fighter tonight but I’m going to be that much better, that’s all.” Bridgy Regs concludes with deadpan certainty.

Rd 1 With the title hanging in the balance both women are out strong. Moore with a slight reach advantage throws some long distance jabs. A couple of the bombs explode on Bridget’s face snapping her head back and drawing the crowd back to its feet with little rest from the previous fight. Moore chasing Regan down right from the start with her left handed jabs. Bridgy doing her best to keep her distance for the time being having lost the initial clash. Mandy controlling the first couple of minutes but has trouble shifting gears when the muscular Bazz girl begins advancing by bobbing and weaving underneath the power jabs and striking back with her own jabs and combinations. Yet as the bell rings its Mandy Moore that has impressed the judges most.

Rd 2 Moore saunters out with the same approach, jab, jab, dance away. This time the effort is met with severe resistance. Regan strikes back with a lightening quick right hand that draws oohs and aaahs from the crowd and catches Moore across the nose and staggering her. Mandy seeks comfort along the ropes but is rewarded with a Bridgy barrage. Regan’s assault goes all in on the jugs, smacking away with machine gun like precision. Poor Mandy enduring a lesson in uppercut dominance as her jugs flop about helplessly. Bridget repositions herself for a more jugalicious angle which allows Mandy to wrestle herself out from underneath Regan and the two fighters get to center ring where big girl bombs are launched with abandon. Both girls duck and weave their way out of harm’s way in the final seconds of the round but the crowd is alive again knowing that there’s more big punching to come.

Rd 3 Both fighters out looking to establish superiority in this round. Neither one holding back as they dance at center ring. Regan pushing Moore around trying to gain positioning for another assault. Mandy not taking any of it. Brown haired beauty combos up on Bridget connecting with a powerful right to the head. Regan not backing down despite seeing stars. Both fighters doing some serious big girl swinging as thunderous roars start the familiar building rattle. Bridgy Regs connecting with both hands knocking Mandy’s head back several times but Moore stands her ground swinging from a wide stance snapping Regan’s head back with several powerful rights. The crowd goes wild as Bridget gives ground now under Mandy’s withering assault. Redhead backed up against the ropes bobbing up and down, back and forth creating a moving target while Mandy takes the offensive. Moore thinking she can end this early but despite an intense flurry can’t make a knock out connection as the bell rings.

Rd 4 Regan still looking strong despite having to weather a furious onslaught during the previous round. She launches some stiff left hand jabs Mandy’s way to start the round. Mandy knowing that her best up close wasn’t good enough to finish Regan last round skips away looking to open up some space where she starts over using her reach. Brown haired vixen now has to handle Regan’s speed which is amongst the best in the big girl division. Bridgy moves in and out on Mandy with left jabs and right crosses. Moore being tormented by Regan right hand which blurs by her head with brutal regularity, often connecting. Moore doing her best to protect herself against the ropes as Regan switches to the body. Now it’s Bridgy Regs’ turn to bring on the pain using her power and superior quickness. Mandy finally begins to counter punch keeping the redhead honest as Regan picks away at Moore. The bell rings and as they walk back to their corners both girls give each other long stares knowing that they have each survived the best the other has to give.

Rd 5 Both girls switching strategies between rounds to match the other’s tactics. This time Mandy moves in big time on Regan looking to crowd her out of using any advantage she may have with her speed. Both girls throwing hard in the clinches until the referee breaks things up only to have the big girls body up again once the smallish ref forces them to separate. Mandy strong against the ropes and in the clinches knowing how to touch up Regan in the up close fighting. She’s practically pushing the 5’-6” slightly built referee out of the ring to get at Bridget having found a way to combat the redhead’s quickness and vicious right hand. Referee looking like a short keystone cop up against beautiful amazons attempting tomaintain control of the fight. Suddenly Mandy connects with an in close uppercut that sends Bridgy Regs swooning and running for cover. For the second time it is Mandy looking to capitalize on a power punch and hopefully end the fight with a knockout punch. The champ hurling thunder at a furious pace occasionally connecting with Regan’s head and body but as the round ends the result is the same, Mandy Moore exhausted from throwing everything she has at Bridget Regan only to have the quicker redhead avoid any serious damage.

Rd 6 Mandy trying to get with more of the same but Bridget keeping the brown haired champ at bay with vicious punches from her spot several feet away from Moore. Even Mandy’s reach advantage is no match for Bridgy Regs’ ability to get to her with quick snaps of her left hand followed up with right hands to the chest and face. Moore dancing as best she can against Regan’s smooth footwork. Big brunette getting trapped over and over against the ropes and having to put up with a horrifying display of punching prowess from Regan who is controlling the taller big girl with an uncanny ability to get around the ring untouched. Mandy still trying to use her reach to get at Bridget by creating some in close fighting along the ropes to lesser and lesser degrees of success as the round comes to an end.

Rd 7 Bridget Regan simply comes out of her corner deking Mandy with a jab to the head and then following up with a right hand that hits the champ so hard to the midsection that the noise of the leather connecting with the torso and subsequent whine from Mandy is heard all the way up in row ZZ a quarter mile from the ring. Brown haired beauty in trouble right off the bat slinks away to a corner of the ring hoping to wait out the pain and then get back into the fight. Bridget not allowing any of that moves in with precise and powerful punches to the body hoping to capitalize on the pain brought from her earlier assault. Mandy up against the ropes taking punishment as Regan stands right in front of her pounding away. Fight going all one sided now as Bridgy Regs moves in for the kill. Crowd sensing it is up on its feet screaming at the tops of their lungs. Suddenly Moore showing that her heart is bigger than her nicked up liver begins punching her way out of the Bridgy Regs tornado. Two jabs knock Regan’s head back and Mandy moves forward against the onslaught for just a second before Bridget puts an end to the uprising with a swift right hand as the bell for the round rings and the streak of back and forth rounds comes to an end.

Rd 8 Moore looking exhausted and more than a bit disheveled as she makes her way out to center ring. Despite the punishment from the previous round the tall welter champ is up to the task taking position and trying to get at Regan any way she can. Bridget jabbing at the head and throwing rights at the body maintaining control of the fight. Moore seemingly recovered loosens up and both fighters are moving freely around the ring throwing their best punches hoping to win the round and gain a lead in the fight. Moore long and powerful with long distance jabs and right hand bombs while Bridgy moving around with what seems to be effortless agility and quickness rarely seen the big girl division. Regan holding off Moore seemingly content to control the fight with fewer but more accurate punches. Moore a little behind and a little more desperate presses the issue with more punching and physical clinches. Crowd quiet waiting for what comes next and then DOWN GOES MOORE! A quick look down at your beer to see if another libation should be obtained and you miss a cobra like strike from Regan! A left hand jab that pushes back Moore followed by yet another vicious right hand that catches Mandy’s chin and then another left hand cross and the tall beauty is down on her side taking an end of the night nap. The harried referee counts to ten and Rd 8 KO and your new welterweight champion! Bridget Regan!

After: Bridget helps up a groggy Mandy Moore and walks her back to her corner. Hugs and handshakes all around with Mandy’s corner people and then a quick bow for the crowd at center ring before the celebration starts with the belt around her waist. “Wow! It feels good to be back! To quote some famous guys ‘what a long strange trip it’s been’! Hey she’s a great fighter! I mean she came at me with her ability to create length with her reach and then fighting inside like she did she nearly got me there. Unfortunately I’m probably going to have to see Mandy again but I’ll be ready! Now it’s off to celebrate a little bit tonight. Hey Pointy you better have some of that 18 year old Scotch laying around! We’re going to have a few belts and crush this town! Woo hoo!”

Meanwhile several interested parties are seen leaving the arena. “Sheeeee’s baaaack!” Amanda Righetti is heard bellowing with a wide grin. “That’s a slippery girl with a mean right hand, I’ll give her that.” Cassidy Freeman is overheard telling Odette Yustman as they move up their aisle. Meanwhile Front St. big girls Brooklyn Decker, Ke$ha and Lee lee Sobieski are seen conversing with The Wiz at ringside no doubt also discussing the comeback of Bridget Regan.
