BEFORE:

"Well," says Juno with a lovely smile, "It's about TIME I get a fight in the FCBA! I guess Front Street didn't think I belonged on the card the last time my stable was here in Philly. So, tonight, I'll prove I'm more than a match for their best fly and make sure I get more invites to America."

"Temple's one of those girls," says Leighton, with a shake of her head, "Who thinks she's something special. Well, maybe in the UK, she is. But, in the FCBA? Just another flyweight who isn't in Leighton Meester's league."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's..."

McCarthy: "Did she just say 'isn't in Leighton Meester's league'? Any flyweight in the FCBA can join THAT league. Ellen Page is in it!"

O'Dell: "A-HEM. That's 'Just Impolite' by Plushgun you hear and the star of that video, the lovely Juno Temple is on the way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "I SAW her intro for her last BBU bout, and apparently Weirdo isn't going to allow her to use trumpets to make some kind of royal entrance..."

Cassie: "No. He'll only allow that if THERON comes to Asylum..."

McCarthy: "THER...don't you DARE mention her NAME! She ducked me for YEARS! The So-Called Goddess was too GOOD to fight The Greatest Fighting Playmate Of All-Time! I'll SUE! I'll SUE! Siri, call my LAWYER..."

O'Dell: "Really, Cassie? Really?"

Cassie: "No need to thank me. Just doing my job..."

O'Dell(sighing): "Temple, of course, representing Foxfire Atlantic. The truck helpfully taking a shot of the owner's box, where Kate Winslet, who runs that stable, sits next to The Grand Wizard. Those two have a pretty chummy business relationship..."

McCarthy: "Get that CAMERA OFF HIM! No one wants to see The Weirdo!"

O'Dell: "Juno into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a black two piece, and that's 'Somebody To Love' by Robin Thicke and the lady coming down to the ring now, 'The Marco Island Mauler', Leighton Meester..."

Tess: "And don't start SINGING, Mac. Remember Grace Slick's restraining order...."

McCarthy: "We were supposed to quash that in court! Siri, call my lawyer again!"

Tess: "What happened the first time?"

McCarthy: "The number came back disconnected!"

Tess: "Why am I not surprised?"

McCarthy: "Shut UP, Walmart!"

O'Dell(sighing): "Leighton into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that pink and red number she likes, and it's time for some picks. Tess likes Juno. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Well FIND A GOOD NUMBER FOR HIM AND TELL HIM HE'S FIRED!"

O'Dell: "MAC!"

McCarthy: "WHAT? I'm trying to fire my lawyer!"

O'Dell: "We're on LIVE TV! Make a PICK!"

McCarthy: "Meester's a Front Street flyweight, meaning she's no good. Give me Temple. She's won some in the BBU."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess."

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Right away, Leighton wants to use that reach advantage. She's working the left hand, keeping Temple at range where she can drop in right hands. Juno trying to slip that left hand, but not having much success doing it."

Tess: "You've heard Wiz say many times that he likes girls who are big for the weight. Meester spent a lot of time at bantam before she came to Front Street, and she was, at times, underpowered there. Here at fly, she has the physical advantages a lot of times, and she has them tonight."

O'Dell: "And the reach the most important of those advantages right now, as Meester is ranging in with that left hand and pre-empting Temple, leaving her out there and vulnerable to the rights."

McCarthy: "Juno needs more movement. She has to get the feet moving and get past the glove so that she can get some work done."

O'Dell: "Temple definitely making an effort to do that, but, at the moment, not having much success. Meester in a pretty good rhythm as we move into the final seconds, popping the jab, putting punches together, and landing another good right at the bell. Excellent first round for Leighton."

Cassie: "Always good to start with that 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with Temple showing a LOT more movement. She's circling now, not trying to penetrate, forcing Leighton to chase. Meester willing to stalk, but Juno staying off center, landing some quick flurries while Leighton tries to cut the ring."

McCarthy: "This wasn't the way I expected Temple to approach this, but it's a way to do it. She's able to get to spots by forcing Meester to chase..."

O'Dell: "And 'chase' is a pretty good description of what Meester's doing right now. She can't seem to bring Temple to battle, as Juno hits, then runs. Meester trying to get that jab on target, but not having much success doing it."

Cassie: "She's missing too much. Has to get to better spots. Those misses are allowing Temple to score. She wants to be busy, but she's got to be in position to punch."

O'Dell: "And that's something she's having a problem with at the moment. Temple moving very fluidly, varying what she's doing with slide steps, jab steps, reverses. She's wrong-footing Meester, frustrating Leighton's offense right to the bell. Easy, breezy for Temple in the second."

Tess: "And that evens the fight at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Back to action in the third and Temple playing cat and mouse with Meester again, and the cat getting a little frustrated, as the mouse is not going to be caught here..."

Cassie: "This is really slick stuff from Temple. She's creating offense from her movement, getting Meester to miss and using the openings to score."

O'Dell: "Juno very good with the feet, here and gone. Leighton can't get square, and, as a result, she's punching from bad spots. She wants desperately to bring Juno to battle, but Temple not having any...just keeps moving and frustrating Leighton..."

McCarthy: "Here's a surprise, one of Weirdo's Dancing Hookers is getting outsmarted. She's chasing this kid and getting sloppy, and Temple's making her pay for it."

O'Dell: "And, that's the key to Temple's strategy. She's not being passive with all the movement. She's being very smart and very aggressive about all of it, and it's working like a charm. Final seconds ticking away and there's the bell ending the third. Temple wide."

Tess: "And Juno forges into the lead 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with Meester dialing back the aggression. Temple still on the move, Leighton still stalking, but, she's not CHASING now. She's working the feet, looking to cut the ring, while Juno bounces on her toes, staying away from the ropes and the corners, working the hit-and-run strategy..."

Tess: "Leighton got a talking to between rounds. Got told to settle down. She's doing that. No more sloppy stuff."

O'Dell: "Which means fewer opportunities for Temple, but Juno still taking advantage of all of them, pouring through every one of them for quick scoring flurries, then getting back on her horse and getting out of Dodge..."

McCarthy: "You know, we've been here for the last Front Street fight for some of the other Dancing Hookers, this could be it for Meester..."

O'Dell: "I'm not sure about that, but Temple's certainly not looking like this is going to be HER last FCBA fight. She's showing plenty of things that'll get her booked again, good feet, quick hands, and a lot of ring savvy. Ten seconds left in the fourth. Less action in this one than in the first three due to Meester slowing the pace, but the result the same as the last two. Temple's round."

Cassie: "And Juno now up 39-37 as we near the halfway point."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth round begins with Meester continuing to slow the pace. She's stalking Temple carefully, willing to work to get into position. Juno not going to be baited. She's going to keep moving and make Leighton move her feet."

McCarthy: "Give Temple a lot of credit. She's found something that works and she's sticking with it, staying patient, not getting too aggressive despite Meester backing things down."

O'Dell: "More foot work and fewer punches this round BUT THERE'S A GOOD ONE! Meester lands a right hand and Juno's buzzed!"

Cassie: "Feinted the left and just BANGED that right home! Temple's legs did a shimmy and Leighton's all over her!"

O'Dell: "She certainly is! Meester letting the hands go in a big way now! Temple giving ground, trying to stay on the move, but the legs a little iffy now and Leighton able to cut her off and go to work. Meester banging away with both hands, backing Juno to the ropes and now going body, pounding away at the ribs and abs. Temple countering in spots, but mostly taking leather. Coming down the stretch now and Juno firming up a bit, banging back at Leighton, but this is the game Meester wants to play, and she's getting the better of it. There's the bell. Wide for Leighton, but, like Elton John, Juno still standing."

Tess: "And still leading, 48-47 after five."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth starts with Temple back on her horse. She's taken a cue from Taylor Swift and shaken off the big right hand from last round and as back to her hit-and-run tactics. Leighton again stalking carefully."

Cassie: "Nice recovery for Temple. She took a lot of leather last round, but seems to have shipped it without lasting damage."

O'Dell: "Leighton pressuring ever so patiently. She's working the feet, looking to cut the ring, trying to get to spots to punch. She's holding fire until she does, so, again, we're seeing fewer punches from both ladies that we did earlier in the fight, but we're also seeing a good percentage land."

McCarthy: "No doubt about it. When they get into the flurries, both fighters are pretty accurate."

O'Dell: "Neither forcing anything. Temple taking her openings where she can get them and Leighton giving her as few as possible. Down to 30 seconds in the round. Bit of a chess game going on. More feints with hands, head, and feet. One last exchange and there's the bell. Close, but Meester."

Tess: "And we're all even at 57 with four to go."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Four rounds to go and anyone's fight. Temple back to the circling and popping the jab, reversing, in and out, right and left, making Leighton stalk..."

Tess: "One thing's for sure, Temple's in shape. She hasn't slowed a bit after six rounds."

O'Dell: "She most certainly has not. Leighton, of course, HAS slowed, but that's a matter of strategy. No more of the chasing of earlier in the fight. This is a very deliberate effort to run Juno to ground, and, when Meester's able to do it, she gets off immediately."

McCarthy: "Temple still aggressive as well, finding openings in Meester's defenses and making good use of them."

O'Dell: "But the key is that there aren't as many as there were earlier. Leighton limiting Juno's openings very well now, managing her with the footwork and the left jab. Temple willing to play the game, take what Leighton gives her. She's all movement right to the final bell. Both fighters had their moments in that one, but Meester gets the round."

Cassie: "And the lead, 67-66."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "The eighth starts with more aggression from Temple. Juno still moving, but she's forcing the pace more now, popping forward to create exchanges, then slipping away to open canvas. Meester still stalking behind her left, looking to create battle on her terms, but Temple hitting quickly and running now."

McCarthy: "See, this is the kind of adjustment a REAL corner with actual trainers who KNOW something can make. Meester's not giving them the openings she was earlier, so, now Temple's going to create them for herself."

O'Dell: "And she has Leighton a bit off balance in doing so. Meester was getting use to the rhythm of setting her own pace, and now Juno's throwing that off, upping things on her own."

Cassie: "Leighton firing back in these exchanges, but Juno getting a bit more done because she's getting off first."

O'Dell: "Meester slowing the stalk down even more now, almost inviting Temple to come forward. Juno bobbing and weaving. Leighton jabbing, scoring some points with left. Temple pops forward and there's a solid exchange. Both girls scored in that one and it takes us to the bell. Fairly close, but Temple's broken Meester's run."

Tess: "And evened this thing again. It's 76-76 with just two left."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Ninth round sees Temple continuing with the more aggressive posture. Juno popping forward to flurry, creating engagements rather than waiting on Leighton to do the same. Meester counter-punching when that happens, then going back to the stalk and cut, creating some of her own offense as she has been most of the fight."

Cassie: "Juno really showing some timing here, Jenny. In and out quickly, getting great angles, and never missing an opportunity to score."

O'Dell: "Meester, meanwhile, continuing to work hard to bring her power to bear and SHE DOES IT! Leighton wobbles Temple with a right hand and DOWN GOES JUNO!"

McCarthy: "No one punch did that. It was a solid flurry off that right that staggered Temple and three or four of those landed pretty clean..."

O'Dell: "Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Temple to her feet..."

Tess: "Color me impressed with Juno Temple tonight. She can box. She can move. She's in great shape. And she's tough as nails getting up from that."

O'Dell: "Referee gives Temple the mandatory and waives Leighton forward. Meester banging home that jab now, backing Temple up, looking to clean up on the ropes. Juno in a high guard looking to rock and roll with the punches and counter when she can. Not much time left in this one, so Temple not going to have to run much clock to survive. Meester BANGING lefts home, reefing in some rights, but Temple taking the licking and continuing to do the ticking. Five seconds left. Good counter by Juno there and that's the round."

Tess: "Temple lives to fight another round, but that knockdown is going to loom large. It's 86-84 now with just three minutes left."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Final round begins and Temple wasting no time coming after Meester. Juno has, no doubt, been told she needs something big here in the tenth and she's going all out to get it. And Leighton responding in kind, firing right back at the Brit and we've got some serious, toe-to-toe hot-tossing going on, ladies!"

Cassie: "These are the terms Leighton's wanted from the get-go, and Juno's got to play Meester's game now."

O'Dell: "And she's showing she can play it. She might not be able to trade with the bigger girl all night, but she's doing it pretty well right now, holding her own as Meester fires some heavy shot at her. Temple putting together punches in bunches in response."

McCarthy: "Got to empty the magazines now. 90 seconds to go, and you've got to send the other guy to the bottom!"

O'Dell: "And that's exactly what Temple's trying to do, and Meester, who could be playing this much more conservatively, is standing right in there and banging with her..."

Cassie: "There've been a few close rounds here, Jenny O, could be Meester's not taking any chances with the cards and wants to pocket this last round."

O'Dell: "You may well be right, Cassie, but, whatever the reason we are toe to toe hammering away right into the final seconds of this thing. Crowd on its feet now as blow after blow is ringing up both fighters. Something's got to give here, but it won't be the legs of either of our flyweights! Instead, it's the clock! There's the bell and this one is over!"

McCarthy: "Oh, for..."

Tess: "And there's one of those hugs Mac hates so much."

O'Dell: "Don't blame them a bit. Heck of a fight and a great last round, which I had for Meester close. We're awaiting the decision, which is being announced now, and, it looks like our cards were right. It's unanimous, 96-93 for our winner by UD10, 'The Marco Island Mauler', Leighton Meester!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Leighton Meester, and, Leighton, tough fight..."

Leighton: "No doubt. She's a good boxer and she can move. She wasn't easy to find in there. I kind of got to pressing and buried myself a little bit early, but, I settled down and just waited for pitches to hit and didn't make any mistakes when I got them."

Tess: "What's next for you?"

Leighton: "This can be a big year for me, and this was the right way to start it. I want to push toward a title shot, so, if a girl can help me get there, let's sign the fight!"
