BEFORE: Just a couple of years ago these two girls were still best buddies on the set of Spring Breakers and only the perennial wrath of Cassie Scerbo and Vanessa Hudgens made them face each other in a promo bout that ended with Selena Gomez edging out Ashley Benson by a proverbial bikini strap which boosted the movie theatre's gate income more than anything else. However fast forward 18 months and the cordial relationship between the two actresses has soured dramatically fuelled by Selena Gomez switching from the Lookout! Boxing to Lioness Club Of America and declaring war on the Pretty Little Punchers Inc., Benson's long-time home playground.

"It's got everything to do with that sleazy Jessica Lowndes creature!", Ashley says before the fight, "I could live with Vanessa Hudgens pulling the strings on Selena but Lowndes is UNBEREABLE and you can quote me on that! Miley Cyrus stopped her rout but failed to follow up against Nessa and geez, whenever I look around it's all about Lowndes, Hudgens and Mishy of all people! If it wasn't for Lucy Hale I'd personally slap some of those girls silly! It's gonna be a shame when I get my revenge on Selena but it's gonna be so much easier for me since I know I'll rub some into Lowndes at the same time! She's good but not THAT good if you ask me!"

Selena Gomez has indeed promised to dissect the PLP's finest which started when she beat Sasha Pieterse up last year but Benson is a tricky opponent in every aspect of the boxing world and even the otherwise fiery Latin lets the blonde win the war of words this time but indicates she's not exactly all Beta on the LCA roster and claims to be living her own life without having to be nursed around by Jessica Lowndes: "She's got Kendra and Nessa all over her schedule but Ashley needs to be careful cause she'll get swollen into that food chain before she knows it! I've beaten her once before and hope to prove myself again and then who knows, perhaps Lucy Hale won't look so full of herself now that I'm coming to derail her bandwagon!"

Ashley Benson wears a pink bikini top, jeans shorts and white gloves. Blonde hair in curly waves, tied up in a sleek ponytail. Selena Gomez wears a turquoise bikini top, jeans shorts and black gloves. Black hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
There's little action in the opening minute as both girls display exceptional respect to each other before Ashley blinks first and starts jabbing at Selena's face trying to land an eye-opener and set the tone for the rest of the round. Selena's happy to stay in mid-range but fails to keep the blonde at bay as Ashley really wants to dig her gloves into her cheeks and finally snaps the head back a couple of times to throw Gomez off balance. Early shades of resistance struggles as Gomez wobbles to the side after another accurate hook crashes off her brow ridge and enables Benson to close right up and switch into a proper midsection assault that reels the brunette against the ropes and seeking a late clinch to see out the action.

Round 2:
Ashley's settled in better of the two and jumps at the brunette with a jabbing combo that splits the mitts with ease and gives Selena a couple of lumps on both cheeks and rocks her backwards with Benson thumping her to the toned ribcage thereafter. All Benson in close range who outworks the sluggish opponent and keeps pumping leather into the ribcage slowly but surely pushing Gomez against the turnbuckle. It's a dismal showing from Selena thus far and very different from her latest fights but Ashley knows all her tricks after the sparring sessions during Spring Breakers and knows the Latin vixen is vulnerable from close range and can be exposed in the gut area. Selena tries to clinch in the final minute but gets shoved away and eats a piledriver from the left that bounces off her brow ridge and makes her squeal in discomfort. Benson traps her along the ropes with more menacing jabs but runs out of time to make further inroads.

Round 3:
Benson's on top again just slicing the brunette's guard and adding lumps on the pretty Latin face as Gomez just slows down and gets rooted to the spot with the clubbing mayhem. Ashley in supreme mode, looks happy to pound Selena around even though she lacks the big punch and could have send the Latin chick packing already according to some brave pundits ringside. PLP entourage looks satisified as Selena's face starts to flash reddish marks and Ashley clobbers her from close range with single hand efforts and spins the ponytail aroud the neck back & forth... Gomez skims off the forearms in another sluggish response and gets wrenched to the side late on after Benson pierced her ribs with a low switch.. Selena gasps for air and slumps against the turnbuckle and gets rocked by a brutal left hook that spins her to the side and forces the ref to charge in as the bell goes off because Ashley looked set to spike some leather into the exposed kidneys! What are you doing there, Selena?

Round 4:
Ashley has run away with the three opening rounds and one must wonder what's going on with Selena who showed zero aggression to back up her pre-fights comments. Indeed, Lucy Hale would have punched her out of the Caesar's Palace by now and Benson's urged to quit the fooling around and finally hurt the brunette rather than just add lumps to her face. Ashley looks on and sees a hollow look in Gomez's eyes so she charges ahead with more facial jabs however slices thin air as Gomez spins around and belts her on the ribcage from the side and finds the liver area making the blonde gulp in pain. Gomez adds the uppercut and tags the jaw to reel Benson on her heels and then throws a flurry of shots on the face to finally leaves some marks on the older girl's face. Ashley's shocked she has to endure some leather but Gomez jumps at her and bumps into her chest, switches into a ribcage assault and pounds her back to the ropes where she cleans out her tummy and blocks off any spiking efforts; she basically shoves a stunned blonde butt-in-ropes and screams out in delight after the bell enjoying Ashley's gobsmacked look.

Round 5:
Selena's alive & kicking after all and despite looking worse of the two with numerous reddish patches on her cheeks she finds the supreme agility and beats the blonde for an overhand approach before clattering into her pink bikini top afterwards. Ashley gets rocked to the side and slices thin air again as Gomez hops around her and spikes around the elbows to maintain the upperhand. Benson leaps forward again and throws Selena off to the side but an immediate clinch follows and Selena shoves her foe against the turnbuckle again to drill her guts thereafter. Ashley's getting exposed in the tummy area contrary to her own plans and Gomez leans on her and rests her head against the right temple and keeps wrenching the ribcage to sink the older actress on her knees and gasping for air right into the brunette's ear. Vanessa Hudgens would be so proud of this Gomey comeback as she refuses to let go and has Benson scowling in a mix of anger and pain afterwards, the blonde's ribs now sporting pink mark to match the bikini color and Selena's face has gotten a bit darker underneath the Latin complexion and now it's getting personal as both girls stare at each other with no sympathy whatsoever in "That's all U got?" kind of fashion.

Round 6:
PLP coach Danielle Harris is all over Ashley's ear during the interval as Selena threatens an almighty comeback and both girls clatter into each other with improved speed and work rate to start the sixth, no love lost in the ring anymore but Benson bats away at Gomez's bikini top and tags her chin to win the close range brawl before thumping one extra jab on the mouth and send the brunette trembling on her heels. Big punch follows and tears Selena's guard aside, she leans forward with eyes closed and a quiet whimper but Ashley MISSES the put away, just plain misses the hook to the temple and has Gomez crashing on top of her and pushing back into the ropes instead... "C'mon! She was going down there!", coach Harris can't believe Benson missed the open goal and now struggles to break the clinch as a wincing and aching Gomez refuses to let go despite getting wrenched on the ribcage. Ref turns a blind eye even when Ashley wrestles the brunette back to the neutral corner and there's just no way the blonde can find another clear opportunity to send her frenemy down again. Huge letoff for the entire LCA and Selena in first place! "You lucky slut!", Ashley knows she's missed the haymaker and tries not to look at Danielle Harris who's absolutely LIVID in the Pretty Little Punchers' corner.

Round 7:
Benson loses her temper alltogether as she plain tries to wipe the smile off Selena's face with the brunette making some gestures at her and trying to blow her fuse. Ashley makes the single hand connection but wobbles forward too much as Gomez weaves around her in ultra bendy style and crashes a right hook onto the nose that cuts the blonde across the ridge and makes her scream. A follow up uppercut bounces off the jaw and slumps the older girl on the spot with Selena drilling through on the rack afterwards and thumping a cumbersome opponent back to the ropes. Ashley tries to clinch and wrestle the brunette away but Gomez keeps hurting her rack and adds more hooks on the ribcage down the stretch to win the close range battle and leave the blonde gasping for air just unable to tame the somewhat unexpected onslaught. Selena's fitness tops her rival's and more gut-checking sways Benson towards the turnbuckle where Gomez does everything she can to chop her in half before adding another double combo on the chin... Bell halts the charge and as the ref drags Selena away, Ashley hugs her hurting stomach and almost stumbles flat on her face as she just can't catch her breath back...

Round 8:
Ashley teases Selena into all-in charge hoping for the perfect counter haymaker but even though she scythes the brunette across the mouth there's no strenght left in her to make the difference and Gomez bumps her on the jugs again before drilling the navel and just sinking further down on the jelly looking knees... Benson aches and yelps as she tries to add more lumps on Selena's face but skims off the cheeks and wobbles into another uppercut on the rack that makes her gasp her loudest of the night yet.. a blitzing right hook finds the blonde's nose moments later AND ASHLEY JUST CRIES OUT IN DISMAY and goes down on all fours, slumping at Selena's feet in visible empty tank mode... Dannielle Harris can't believe that as Selena breaths heavily on top of the fallen blonde and gives her frenemy a long look but allows herself to a quick fistpump in celebration... Benson just takes her time and shoots back upright at eight but looks to be running on fumes at best and indicates she's out of breath... Gomez charges at her and clubs on the wounded nose with a classic piledriver before adding more jabs on the tummy and just pounding her back to the turnbuckle... GOMEZ DISSECTS BENSON... heavy leather crashes off the blonde's midsection and slumps her into more misery, the eyes are all closed for Ashley who sobs out in submission mode but Selena refuses to punish her and just punch her insides out... AND THE REF STEPS IN.. he hauls the brunette before she chops her foe down in half and Benson's a mental and physical wreck and just collapses on her knees after the stoppage, bends down against the canvas and has coach Harris throwing the towel over her head.... "What a frickin' disaster for the PLP! It's all your fault, Ash!" TKO8 Selena Gomez!!!

AFTER: Selena's over the moon in the opposite corner and indicates to the Las Vegas audience she doesn't need Vanessa Hudgens' guidance anymore: "I can hold my own now! I took Jessica Lowndes the distance and tonight pretty much pounded Ashley's brains out no matter how much I will regret that in the future! Guess she can admit I'm the better girl, now? No? It's not the 90s anymore so whatever Danielle Harris says doesn't matter!"

But after seeing Ashley reduced to a mental wreck and Danielle Harris ripping her hair out in pure frustration she does approach the fallen blonde and offers her a helping hand! "I'm sorry Ash but you really should have kept your pretty little mouth shut! The thing we had with Nessa was great but you know, Lucy Hale and all that? They're just damn wannabes! You can't have it all! Wait, what? You're gonna barf now or need some oxygen?"

Indeed Ashley nods back at the victorious brunette and allthough she'd like to accept some of those remarks she just can't fend off the fire burning in her guts and slumps back on her knees before crashing down on her face. The medical crew rushes in and escorts the battered Ashley back to her stool where she finally embraces the nature of her defeat that looked impossible after the opening three rounds. But that's the difference why Vanessa Hudgens is the current flyweight champion, Lucy Hale has emerged as the PLP money girl and Ashley Benson has to swallow another bitter pill, "You lack the damn instinct to SLAUGHTER people off! Selena should be knocked out of the arena in the third round! Will you ever learn that, Ash?", coach Harris signs off the press conference in dramatic fashion but she's probably right. The blonde just wasted so many opportunities tonight and once she missed the knockdown punch in the sixth there was just no way back for her anymore!

Final result: Selena Gomez def. Ashley Benson TKO8.
