BBU FIGHT NIGHT FROM THE WEMBLEY ARENA

Mutya Buena looks to maintain her unbeaten record against the highly touted but somewhat lacklustre lately fellow singer Mandy Capristo who thought about giving her German compatriot Sandy Moelling a fighting chance first but the unmanaged former Sugababe's record proved to be a more desireable target in the end and Mandy's convinced she can emerge among the flyweight elite in case of handing Buena her first BBU defeat ever. What if she loses though? A journeywoman career like fellow lioness Jeanette Biedermann beckons allthough it's far too early to scratch Capristo's chances just yet!
Mandy Capristo wears a black basque top, red knickers and golden gloves. Blonde hair tied in a braid wrapped around the back of her head. Mutya Buena wears a red basque top, white knickers and gloves. Black hair in loose waves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Mutya starts aggressively as perhaps was expected from her and digs her mitts into Mandy's chest before adding more on the ribcage. Capristo responds over the top and snaps the older singer's head backwards but Mutya refuses to buckle and keeps drilling the blonde's guts until Mandy breaks down and yields real estate first. A flurry of punches is aimed at the German's head afterwards and a couple of them find the jaw to put Mandy on the back foot and enable Buena to pound her towards the ropes comes the final minute. Capristo tries to stay in the exchange but bounces off the guard and gets whacked across the mouth thereafter as Mutya unloads the unbeaten attire and rocks her with another clubbing hook on the eye right at the bell.
Round 2:
Lioness coach Gina Wild urges Capristo to be more aggressive but another feisty tangle in the middle of the ring goes in Buena's favor; the former Sugababe clatters into the blonde's chest to stun her on the spot and flicks a couple of uppercuts that spin the blonde braid around Mandy's neck and sink her with a loud whimper. Buena wrecks her guard thereafter and thumps both cheeks in close range forcing another German escape but the agility's on the English girl's side as well and she bats the lacklustre younger singer back to the turnbuckle where she digs into her breadbasket and keeps her trapped for remainder of the round. Heavy leather sinks Mandy down on her knees and the pretty German can only wrap herself around Buena but fails to prevent the Sugababe brunette pounding away at her tummy and ribs. Ouch!
Round 3:
Buena's really confident now she can put the blonde away quickly but rushes her approach and Mandy ducks underneath to clobber the brunette's guts and move high for a crunching uppercut on the jaw. Mutya stumbles to the side and fails to regain her footing before Capristo follows up with a piercing combo on the mouth to push her foe towards the ropes and throw a flurry of punches thereafter. Buena leans back on the ropes and tries to fight from behind the guard but Mandy slices through on the cheeks and snaps the head back & forth to assume unexpected control. The blonde unloads a furious display and bats away to glory leaving Buena stranded and badly exposed as her cheeks suffer a couple of nasty lumps; late in the round it's still Capristo in full swing thumping both temples and sinking the undefeated singer deep on her knees to run away with the score and dump Mutya into a moaning stupor.
Round 4:
This is a personal affair now as Mutya can't believe the couple of deep cuts Mandy gave her in the previous round and charges at the German with mean intentions; both girls tangle in the middle of the ring but Capristo beats her rival for the piercing combo and nails Buena on the nose to stun her on the spot and add immediate series on the brow ridge. Mutya rocks to the side and drops her arms too low allowing the blonde to blast the haymaker across the mouth moments later... DOWN GOES BUENA... the Sugababes' brunette hits the canvas flat on her back as Mandy shakes her glove in delight upon the somewhat shocking knockdown.. Mutya's up at six and looking VERY angry as she wipes the sweat off her mouth... she tries to jump at the German immediately after the command but gets blocked off and shoved into the ropes as Mandy shuts her out and digs into the midsection instead keeping Buena in a desperate struggle for survival... thumping series to the ribs sinks the Sugababes' singer even further and Mandy has to be dragged away by the ref after the bell.
Round 5:
Mutya's really uncomfortable with that knockdown and fails to match the German's agility as Mandy moves in to close range and resumes the midriff punishment before going up high and clipping the jaw again. Buena responds on the body and stays in the exchange but shows inferior intensity and rocks back & forth after Capristo nails her on the cheeks to add more lumps and increase the moaning volume. She swings for the all deciding haymaker again but skims off the guard down the stretch and Mutya clinches her to prevent another disaster and settles into dragging the blonde along the ropes as Mandy just can't put her away and even allows the brunette to land a couple of crisp hooks to the liver area in the dying seconds of the round.
Round 6:
Coach Gina Wild is all over Mandy's ear during the interval but a feisty approach from the blonde backfires quickly as Mutya leans on her foe and beats her for a quick overhand to slam leather across the mouth and rock Mandy off her stance. Buena yelps and winces in her efforts but outworks the German in close range and thumps her jugs to bend her forward in a moaning disarray before blitzing one on the right eye that tears the skin underneath and makes Capristo scream out her loudest yet. Both girls settle into a lenghty clinch thereafter but this helps Mutya more as she still breaths heavier of the two and looks by far the worse to wear. Mandy slips by for some ribacge assault but can't shove the brunette into the ropes and gets headbutted on the wounded eye instead as Mutya enforces a late tangle along the ropes and notices that the German's right eye does indeed look to be swelling now. The knockdown momentum is all gone come the bell and Mutya pierces the blonde's navel in high attention to indicate she's right back into this contest!
Round 7:
Mandy's sluggish in approach and probably dwells over the missed chance to put Mutya away but is forced into a quick cover early as the brunette hoofs her guard aside and pours leather on the exposed rack. Capristo's moaning increases and het attempts to clinch the fellow singer are futile; Mutya harpoons the wounded right eye for a good measure and tags the area a couple of times to reel the German backwards into further avoidance. Both girls circle away from each other and seem to be measuring each other's resilience for a while before Mutya triggers and the hasslin' and weavin' to keep Mandy on her toes but still eating those looping overhands aimed at the swollen eye. Bell.
Round 8:
Mandy seems to be losing her mean spirit as the right eye is on the verge of shutting down completely after Mutya is all over it to make up for that knockdown. In fact Denise van Outen thinks that if Capristo avoids going down she might still snatch the ultra close decision but Buena has other ideas and traps the German on the ropes on the minute mark when the looping jabs come crashing off the right eyes and dump Mandy into a moaning bother. She's all covered up and protecting her injury but this allows Mutya to pound away at the guts and it's one-way traffic for remainder of the round with the brunette bruising the blonde's ribcage and thumping the fighting will out of a suddenly cumbersome opponent. In the dying seconds Mutya runs out of gas but has done more than enough to secure the round and poor Mandy is still hidden behind the guard which gives her nothing to tame the brunette's comeback into this fight. Will we see a late KO anyway? The German looks to be running on empty tank as she slumps to her stool with eyes closed and hugging her tummy in visible pain.
Round 9:
Mutya's on top of her opponent now and slices through the guard with ease to thump Mandy back on her heels and works on that swollen eye as well. The blonde's desperate to prevent the landslide scores in the closing rounds but Buena - even though looking much slower than few minutes ago - still outworks her in close range and sends the braid more another ride increasing the moaning volume and just pounding a hapless German back to the ropes come the minute mark. Capristo bellows out into earmuff cover but exposes her midriff again and Mutya harpoons the area in utmost disdain, trying to literally chop the younger girl in half. There's just no stopping the former Sugababes lead singer and she pours leather on the ribcage to rock her aching foe back & forth along the ropes and slumping into a looming disaster... Mandy gives up the ghost in the final minute with the piercing jabs finally taking their toll and dropping her DOWN ON HER KNEES as Mutya gurgles in delight she pulled the knockdown back.. Mandy bends her head against the canvas and aches and groans her heart out... she tries to lift herself but just can't find anything in the tank and drops onto her side and bursts into spasms... SHE CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT... it's all over and a very hard-earned KO9 Mutya Buena!!!
AFTER: The Sugababes brunette remains undefeated in five bouts now but had to work her hardest tonight to maintain that elusive record. She looked to be exiting stage left in the fourth round but clawed herself back into this helped on by Mandy's lack of killer touch against such an otherwise demanding opponent. Indeed coach Gina Wild looks out of sorts in the Lioness Club corner; they had Buena right where they wanted to and still fumbled this glorious opportunity to snap the undefeated streak and basically opened the door for Mutya's title hopes in the upcoming weeks.
However Denise van Outen remains coy on Mutya's imminient chances of entering the flyweight title picture: "If she destroyed Mandy tonight then she'd be among the top three challengers for Mikie Hara's straps but this come-from-behind and very hard working success needs further verification. It wouldn't be a bad idea if she tackled one of the Mulheron siblings first or perhaps a former champ like Adele Silva or Emily Atack. This just wasn't convincing enough for my money!"
Final result: Mutya Buena def. Mandy Capristo KO9.
