Cassie Scerbo versus Ksenia Solo

Before: The crowd in the arena is as rambunctious as you’ll find at any event and it comes as no surprise because it’s . . . Scerbotime! Another fight night with Cassie Scerbo on the card. Tonight Cassie is facing off against another fighter that like her makes her trade with athleticism, agility and speed. The crowd senses a great match up and, of course, hopefully, a few antics from their favorite fighter.

“She’s good and she’s beaten the best but I’m not going let that get in the way of my climb to the top of this division. Cassie’s just a nice little 110 lb mountain or maybe better described as a hill to climb over on the way to flyweight superiority.” Ksenia putting forth her best snark complete with hands on hips and sideways glances at her opponent, Cassie Scerbo.

“My goodness! She’s frisky isn’t she? Why don’t we check back in an hour or so and see how that face looks.” As is custom Scerbo’s retort is short, to the point and veiled with the promise of violence.

Ksenia resplendent in a brilliant white bikini, white gloves and boxing shoes, her hair in a loose ponytail. Cassie in Bazz black bikini, gloves and shoes her own ponytail tight and as severe as her demeanor.

Rd 1 Both fighters prance to the middle of the ring brimming with confidence. Scerbo fires off a three punch combination catching Ksenia with the last, an upper cut that just catches the chin. Ksenia quickly looking to show off her own quickness with two straight jabs that touch Cassie. Neither fighter backing up. Cassie bouncing about like a sleek kangaroo thrusting in on a forward planted left foot slapping Ksenia all over the face. Ksenia dodging as best she can and countering with her own jabs and rights to the body. Scerbo moves in and touches Ksenia with another combination that seems to blur by The Little Swan’s face. Both fighters connecting and the fast pace has the crowd loud and on its feet. Scerbo walking Solo back a little with crisp, more accurate punching as she shows a rare less flamboyant all business approach to the first round that impresses the judges.

Rd 2 Ksenia lunges into Scerbo with a couple of nice jabs that rock the Bazz Girl backwards right off the bat. Scerbo covers up along the ropes while Solo cleans up to the body until Cassie surprises with an over the top right hand that catches Solo at the top of her head and brings the fight back to center ring. Punches are a blur as quickness reigns the day. Neither fighter looking to take a break. They jab at each other with gusto. Solo getting some good rhythm with her work knocking Cassie around the ring a little bit more than she had in the first round. Solo moving in with jabs and following up with rights to the body slams home a stiff shot to Cassie’s side the bends her down and draws oohs and aaghs from the crowd. The bell rings and Ksenia skips to her corner with confidence.

Rd 3 Cassie comes out with purpose after a slack 2nd round anxious to get back to the disassembly of one Ksenia Solo. Scerbo moving from side to side with purpose in this round better protecting against the nasty punches to the body that Solo had been so successful with. Solo moves in with her jabs and then a quick right underhand that would catch most of the flyweight division except with Scerbo’s quickness all she catches is a Scerbo elbow or forearm blocking the way. Scerbo meanwhile is also actively dancing in and out of range now not giving Ksenia much to hit. With defense properly addressed Cassie lets fly with her favorite three punch combinations when given the chance. In the third minute Scerbo moves in with fast feet and catches Solo with a cross to the head that knocks her off balance. Pretty ballerina scurries to safety throughout the final minute of the round covering up against more Scerbo punishment.

Rd 4 Solo circles Scerbo with extreme care now. Having experienced the Bazz girl’s quick agility up close and personal she is using great care staying clear of her right hand stinger to the head. Ksenia returns to the body. She skips in with enough speed to match Cassie’s and catches her with a jab that knocks Cassie’s head back and then a right to the body that gives Scerbo a fresh reminder of the pain The Little Swan is capable of administering. Solo initiating some clinches to keep Scerbo within range and to allow her to work her own right hand. Scerbo trying to escape and avoid any more pain to her side organs from Ksenia’s effective punching to the body. Meanwhile Solo continuing to clinch enjoying the break from the typical brutal pace put up by a Bazz fighter and the ability to hammer away at the body when given the chance. The referee allowing the close fighting with Ksenia so successful at looking busy in close.

Rd 5 Scerbo staying outside at all costs this round. Solo willing to jab with the speedy fly. Scerbo moving from side to side with a virtual endless supply of energy. Pesky blonde bobbing and weaving in and out of range not letting Solo get a hold of her and starting to land her punches again. Scerbo skips in and bops Solo on the noggin with a left and jitterbugs her way out of any trouble. Solo seems low on fuel compared to Cassie but is gamely chasing her around the ring. Scerbo retreating to a point and then slowing the back pedal so that Ksenia gets into range and hits with a right off of her back foot. Bazz fighter mixing it up now jabbing, jitterbugging into a retreat and unleashing combinations that have Solo at her wits end. Fighters at center ring trading punches when suddenly Scerbo catches a tiring Solo with a right cross that sends the raven haired beauty flailing backwards all the way to the ropes. Ksenia stunned by the suddenness of the blitzkrieg covers up on the ropes as Scerbo sprints in for the kill. Blonde haired bully land three more powerful punches just as the bell rings. Cassie looks back at Ksenia while she makes her way to her corner assessing the damage done.

Rd 6 Scerbo out with a purpose. Solo still game though ducking her head with hands up hoping to recover and get through this round. Ksenia jabbing away holding Scerbo at bay who is now throwing haymakers looking for the end. Both fighters looking for positioning at center ring with Solo able to catch Scerbo in another clinch that allows her to return to punching Cassie’s body. Scerbo pushing uppercuts from in close but ultimately looking to break free and use her range to hammer the dark haired ballet girl. Finally the ref moves in and breaks the girls up. Scerbo shifts into dancing with the stars mode, skipping and juking around the ring, backing down from Ksenia with agility to set up her next blitz. Solo moving much slower now but still able to catch Cassie but then DOWN GOES KSENIA! A three punch combination from Scerbo that concluded with a blur of an uppercut and Solo is down on her side hoping that someone has an extra pillow. Cassie moves to a corner and the ref goes through the niceties of counting out Ksenia. Raising her arms the winner, Cassie Scerbo with a 6th round KO!

After: Scerbo slices through the Solo entourage helping her to the corner and gives Ksenia a pat on the back and the two have a quick hug. “Funny she mentioned that I was a hill to climb because that’s what she needs, a hill to run up and down where she works out. She does that, gets her training regimen down and she’ll be going full tilt with the best fighters in this division which Kcenia found out the hard way that I am definitely a part of. She’s got the goods otherwise but it’s just not good enough to run with me.” Cassie Scerbo then turns towards Poindexter Del Crunchy and playfully swings away on his chest as if he is a 250lb speed bag showing that she still has enough in the tank for another workout.
