The time difference means Charlize and Erika face off about 8:35 AM local time for a night time TV audience in the US.)

Theron is currently ranked #19 by FCBA while Heynitz is #1 in both the BBU & ACB. But some question whether the FCBA is really the superior promotion? This fight may answer that question...or not!
Australia's big blond banger, Erika Heynatz (38 yo, 5'11”) has a record of 13-1 with 12 KO's! She's not only amassed a gaudy won-loss record, she's won twelve fights in a row - including two different welter titles and 11 successful defenses! Her twelve consecutive wins is “arguably the longest BBU reign in history” and may be unprecedented since all twelve were title fights!
Heynatz has several “names” on her glossy resume, including former BBU light and welter champion Sabrina Washington (17-6, w/17 KO's); former FCBA and ACB welter champion Elle MacPherson (17-14, w/13 KO's). She twice beat Britain's Jaye Jacobs (10-9, but all 19 of Jacobs' fights ended by KO! Erika beat Michelle Ryan (10-8, w/7 KO's) and in her last fight she KO'd Beyonce Knowles (17-24, w/12 KO's).
An Aussie singer, actress, TV personality and tough fighter, Heynatz comes in as an “overwhelming favourite” of local bookmakers and there are good reasons why. She's:
* fighting on her home turf. They're fighting in her hometown, Sydney, Australia.
* she's only seven months younger,, but without Theron's mileage. Charlize has over 350 fights while Erika, who only started boxing professionally in 2012, has less than 15!
* she's taller and heavier (+/- 10 pounds) and it's well documented Theron has trouble with “bigger women.”
* recent history favors Heynatz. She's undefeated in 12 straight title fights. Theron is 6-9 in her last 15. Theron's held 26 titles in an illustrious career, but the last one was nearly three years ago!
* Hometown pride. Neither of Erika's two titles is at risk, but pride is a strong motivator for women at this level and she's fighting in front of her countrymen!
Heynatz is known for her postfight humiliations of beaten foes, but she won't respond to press speculation about how she'll treat Theron if she wins. “I prefer to let her worry about it,” she chirps, turning to smile prettily for the camera. “After all, the sheila's flown all the way down 'ere to face me an' I'd be a right poor 'ostess if I saiyed anythin' to roon 'er gettin' a goonight's sleep, now wooden aye?”

Theron arriving in Sydney only two days ahead of the fight with an “entourage” consisting of her trainer, Sharon Stone, and a “cut woman” - a former Aussie porn star who once played a nurse in a film, Sunny McKay. But Theron's an international superstar who's accustomed to long flights and short turnarounds, so both she and Stone dismiss the idea Heynatz will have an advantage.
While Stone puts Theron thru a couple of light workouts before the fight, McKay goes on the town, putting in appearances at several King's Cross “gentleman's clubs” where she's seen dancing and carrying on to all hours. The night before Theron's fight, McKay hosted several “current and former adult entertainers” on Manly Beach for a card of wrestling and foxy boxing bouts - the highlight of which was Ms. McKay and Sydney born Selena Silver wrestling in skimpy bathing costumes in the “main event” for a large and mostly male, highly appreciative, audience.

At a press conference the day before, reporters pressed Ms. Theron for a comment on reports Erika “enjoys abusing defeated rivals” but Theron, a veteran of over 350 boxing matches and more than 100 wrestling bouts, refused to be drawn into a war of words. “I'm pretty sure those girls wouldn't have ended up in that predicament if they hadn't lost the fight. So my plan is not to lose, it's that simple.” Asked if she had anything “special” planned when she won, the Oscar winning actress smiled and purred, “She'll find out at the same time everyone else does.” Then turning to the camera, she smiled and added, “Sleep on that, Erika!”

During R1: Theron out tentatively, taking her time to get accustomed to the ring (and the early morning heat and humidity). At the bell the temperature is 80F and climbing, the humidity 82%. Erika has no worries and bores in straight at Theron, popping that sturdy left jab into Charlize's chest, then up under the chin. Theron circling left behind her own jab, moving away from Erika's left jab but into a right which Erika lands for the first time less than a minute into the round. The punch staggers the Oscar-winner who is forced to clinch as the crowd roars. Charlize digging to Erika's body, trying to put some mileage on her early. Neither woman is a youngster and stamina and conditioning could play a big part in deciding the outcome - especially given the hot, muggy, conditions. Both women trying to establish some rhythm, but Erika having somewhat the better of the exchanges wins the round on points.

R2: Theron upping her tempo a bit in the early going, getting off quicker. Erika setting down on her punches, targeting Charlize's bikini top to the delight of the lads in the front rows. Theron countering effectively, discouraging Heynatz from setting up on her chest for any length of time without suffering the consequences. Both blondes perspiring liberally as the round comes to a close, with Heynatz unleashing a flurry of body punching just before the bell to tip the judges in her favor. After two rounds of spirited back-and-forth, Erika Heynatz leads on all three scorecards, two-love.

R3: Theron getting an earful from Stone in her corner between rounds as a red-eyed Sunny McKay pops headache tablets, washing them down guzzling a clear liquid that could be gin, or vodka, or perhaps even water. Charlize out with a more determined mien this round, staking out her piece of canvas at centre ring and defending it doggedly. Erika appearing surprised by the change of strategy, slow to react as Charlize lands several solid punches circling right this time, dropping her right hand over Heynatz' left shoulder. Erika appears unhurt, but shaken nonetheless, and spends the middle of the round in slow retreat before the Hollywood actresses advance. Late this round, it's Charlize with the closing flourish and she again lands that right hand, putting a shimmy in Erika's thighs. Now it's Erika forced to clinch and Theron uses the opportunity to tattoo Heynatz' belly with solid blows. Charlize wins the round easily, closing the gap between them to a manageable number.

R4: Theron keeps up the pressure, steadily advancing behind a stiff left jab, mixing in rights over the top or coming in under Erika's extended left. Heynatz reduced to pot-shotting Charlize with single (but effective) right hands whenever she sees an opening. Erika's left side face showing a distinct rose hue from that worrisome Theron right hand after four rounds, but there's also a bright pink glow on Theron's chest where Erika has targeted Charlize's puppies for attention. (For years the way to beat Theron was supposed to be via her bosom; but after 350 fights no one has yet been able to do it often enough to keep her out of the Hall of Fame. But Erika apparently believes the story and doggedly sticks to her plan.) Down the stretch they're about even until Theron again unleashes a furious attack in the last twenty-thirty seconds to steal the round and draw even on the scorecards.

R5: Theron on a roll. Charlize up on her feet before the bell, slapping her gloves, feet pawing the canvas. She's one eager blond! Heynatz getting last-minute instructions, slow off the mark at the bell; getting trapped in her corner early. Charlize taking it to Erika's torso in the early going; pounding that mid-section with both fists. Heynatz, behind a peek-a-boo defense, bobbing and ducking, never giving the Yank a clear shot at her chin. Theron's attack is unrelenting, digging hard lefts and rights to Erika's aging torso, putting miles on her chassis! Erika, her firm butt jammed in the ropes, resorts to pot-shotting to Charlize's bikini top on the rare opportunities she has to return fire. Midway in the round, Erika takes advantage of a lull in Theron's attack and manages to fight her way off the ropes, landing two, three, then a fourth, consecutive punch to drive the Yank back across the ring. Now Charlize has to fight with her taut tuckus stuffed tight into the ropes. At ringside, Nurse Sunny McKay looks up at Theron's backside and licks her lips lasciviously, then goes back to sucking up whatever libation she's secreted in the liquid filled cups of her brassiere. Theron getting a lambasting from Heynatz who seems to have found something of interest in the cups of Charlize's bikini top...at least, that's the inference everyone draws from the way she seems unable to resist going back there time and again. Finally, Charlize throws her arms around Erika and hugs her, pressing her battered bosom to Erika's as if greeting a long lost relative. The two women wobble and careen around for several seconds until Heynatz manages to get leverage, then hip-tosses the Oscar-winner down on her bum! Charlize bounces once, then rolls over; her face bright red; her gloved hands massaging her bruised bottom as the referee quickly intervenes to calm the roiled waters. Charlize brushes him aside and goes after Erika who realizes she may have awakened a sleeping giant. With only a few seconds remaining in the round, Theron attacks Heynatz with a vengeance, landing two hard left hooks, then a right hand flush on the jaw! Erika's knees buckle and she crumples at Theron's feet. Charlize steps over her, looks down and blows on her gloves before she saunters to a neutral corner. Before the count can get to four, however, the bell sounds ending the fifth round....one that saw Charlize' knockdown tilt the table her her favor, three rounds to two!

R6: After a moment of panic in the Wildetime corner, Erika is stood up and escorted to her corner where she's ministered to by her excellent support staff. She's sitting upright and alert well before the bell and the overwhelmingly partisan hometown crowd breaths a collective sigh of relief to see their girl on her feet. Theron starting to show the effects of the muggy Australian climate (in what would be her winter season). Theron now ahead on points, taking her time, being cautious; working that jab, mixing in rights to the torso, then ducking away before Erika can respond. Good, veteran, work from Theron here in the early going, not using a lot of energy, picking her spots, nabbing points where available with a low-risk attack. Midway, however, things change dramatically! Charlize doubles up with the left jab, then tries to sneak in an overhand right before stepping away. Heynatz, timing it beautifully, beats Theron to the punch and ROCKS the Hollywood blond with a chopping right hand of her own. Charlize back on her heels in stutter-stepping retreat, can't get her hands up in time and gets her bell rung by a second straight right hand! Forced to clinch with her back on the ropes, Theron's vulnerable torso gets plundered by the tall, willowy, Aussie blond who bludgeons her with both hands for a good thirty seconds! Charlize, hunched over in body shock, pawing the left in Erika's face, her right held protectively horizontal across in front of her face, palm down. Heynatz landing two, three, FOUR, uppercuts to Charlize's unprotected puppies as Theron wails bleats of protest through her mouthguard. Erika, palm on Theron's forehead, pushes her head back and tries to get to her chin, but Theron raises her left shoulder in time and the blow is blunted, landing with a cuffing impact rather than one doing damage. Theron rides out the final seconds with her face in Erika's cleavage, arms bearhugging the tall blonde as the referee struggles in vain to pry them apart. Round was Theron's early, but Heynatz came on fast to close and pass her in the stretch to even the cards after six!

R7: Erika off her stool like a shot, bearing down on Theron who has a 'deer in the headlights' look on her flushed face as they smash together. Theron pushing off, trying to separate herself from the Aussie blond, but Heynatz maintains the pressure, staying on Charlize; working to the body; using an occasional elbow to the bust to put winces of pain on Theron's movie star countenance. Theron using her long legs to jog left, keeping her jab in Erika's face; Heynatz moving with, whipping left hooks in under Charlize's right which she holds horizontally to protect her bosom. Erika's clearly studied Theron as she's using the same 'bra busting' technique others have employed to torment Theron into making mistakes leaving herself vulnerable. Second minute sees Erika Heynatz' plans and schemes achieve their goal. Theron circling under pressure, launches a right hand targeting Heynatz' chin. Erika, anticipates it and as she slips underneath, she comes up with a snapping left hook ON THE BUTTON AND Theron drops like she's been shot! Charlize landing on her butt and bouncing before rolling onto her back with her feet in the air. Erika stumbles over her coming forward and nearly tumbles headfirst thru the ropes before she catches the second strand and rights herself . Charlize sits up, rolls over and crawls on all fours, then struggles to one knee, then stands upright, wobbly but insisting she's able to continue. Erika rushes in to finish, landing wild lefts and rights to Charlize's head as the Hollywood hotshot ducks, bobs and weaves frantically, never giving Heynatz a clean shot at her. After swinging wildly for a while, Erika settles down and takes her time, looking for the single punch to end Theron's night. But Charlize bearhugs and clinches, not giving Erika time or space to punch. At the end of the round, Charlize has succeeded in bogging down the action to the point she escapes on her feet. Huge round by Erika Heynatz repays Charlize's knockdown in the fifth round with one of her own that puts her in the lead with three rounds to go!

R8: Erika continues on a roll. Heynatz feeling it now, stays on the attack, not giving Theron time to set herself. Charlize reduced to pot-shots whenever she throws punches at all as Heynatz blankets her as she works over that Oscar-winning body for the first two minutes of the round. Theron looking weary and beaten with a minute left in the eighth round and fans are sensing the end could come at any moment. Then Theron erupts in one of her whirlwind attacks and for the next 30-40 seconds, it's all Charlize as she blitzes Erika from one side of the ring to the other! Erika, unable to respond, soaks up punishment and at the end of the round, the judges give her the round by a slender margin to put her two rounds ahead with two to go, though the points make it closer than that on the cards.

R9: Both women know the fight is on the line and they spare nothing in the opening minute. First Theron, then Heynatz, then Charlize again, land hard, hard, punches that rock their opponent. As you may expect, after so much savagery, they both look exhausted at the mid-point of the round. Then Erika surges…chasing Charlize down, trapping her in a corner and bashing her breadbasket with both fists. Theron slumping, butt in the ropes, hugging Heynatz. DOWN GOES ERIKA! HEYNATZ IS HURT! Short inside uppercut buckles Erika's knees and she drops on her haunches like a puppet whose strings were cut. Heynatz writhing around, trying to pull herself up by the ropes as Charlize sags back against the turnbuckle in the farthest corner. Erika just beats the count, but before Theron can finish her off, the bell sounds ending the round. Huge comeback by Theron halves Heynatz' lead and closes the points to a manageably slim margin. It's all going to be decided in the 'championship round' - the tenth!

R10: Both women showing the effects of the heat and humidity as much as the brutal exchanges of nine hard rounds of boxing. Heynatz scores first in the tenth, stopping Charlize in her tracks with a straight right, then her left hook comes oh so short, just missing. Theron answers with two quick jabs and a right under Erika's left breast. Heynatz backs off, then attacks again, landing another left-right combo that seems to hurt Theron. Both score with rights, both miss short, chopping lefts – either of which might have ended the fight at this point. ERIKA'S HURT! Another uppercut from Theron, as Erika was closing in, staggers the veteran Aussie blond bombshell. Heynatz clinches and Charlize goes "all in" to Erika's body. Left, right, left. Heynatz is reeling back onto the ropes. Jab, jab, jab….overhand right. Charlize is scoring with every punch now. Uppercut! DOWN GOES HEYNATZ! Erika flying over backward, arms flung outward, crashing to the canvas flat on her back. And she's not moving! Referee counting but Erika's not able to lift her head. Across the ring, Theron hanging onto the ropes with a look on her face that says, "Don't get up." And Erika doesn't. Referee's count tolls the end of Erika's evening and Charlize chalks up another victory in her long, stories, Hall of Fame, boxing career. But it was a struggle and against a woman almost as old as herself.

After: "She was just as tough as every Australian I've ever fought," Charlize said immediately afterward in the ring; sweat streaming down her face and glistening on her body. Her chest sported a bright red hue from Erika's fists and there was swelling under her left eye as well as a small cut at the corner of her mouth. "I'll have a black eye in the morning," she admitted. "This was one tough lady.”

After a short pause to catch her breath, Charlize added with a tight smile, “While I'm here, maybe I'll look up a few other Aussie girls; you can never have too many on your resume.”

Erika was still groggy, as well as distraught over losing a fight she seemed to have in the bag after eight rounds. Still, she had to praise her opponent. "There's a reason women like Theron are in the Hall of Fame," she said. "They don't quit and they don't run. Every time I thought I had her on the ropes ready to go, she came back harder. I hope to get another shot at her soon because I think I learned a lot about her tonight that I can use when we meet again."
