TESS VALMORE

KEEGAN/DEWAN. The bout was going Dewan's way through three. In the fourth Keegan trapped Dewan in a corner and unloaded on her giving her a terrible beating. Dewan didn't recover between rounds and was easy pickings in the fifth. Keegan putting Dewan on the canvas for the count with a series of hooks

TISDALE/D. RYAN. Tisdale took the first two rounds and Ryan the next two. Tisdale went ahead winning the fifth and sixth, committing a foul in the fifth. Justice was done in the seventh as Ryan landed a solid right to Tisdale body and followed up with a couple of hooks to end Tisdale's night. Ryan KO7

SCERBO/SOLO. The pair put up four fast pasted, sharp punching rounds. Cassie started taking control in the fifth as Solo couldn't keep up the pace. In the sixth, Scerbo changed the pace several times before landing a three punch combination that put Solo down for the count

HARNOIS/RICCI. Beth took the first round and Ricci the second. In the third Ricci started working on Harnois' body. She continued the body assault in the fourth and into the fifth. The body work set up a left-right to the chin that sent Harnois down for the count.

CYRUS/ CARTER Cyrus took the first two rounds. Carter, then, surged ahead by winning the next three. Cyrus evened the fight by winning the sixth. Hard punching took the toll as Carter was bleeding from the nose and Cyrus from the lips by time the round ended. Carter in the next round ended Cyrus’s dreams of victory by unleashing a brutal attack, trapping Cyrus on the ropes and ending the fight with barrage of body punches and a final right hook the left Cyrus out on her face

PANETTIERE/CHABERT Good fast paced action for the first five rounds with Panettiere having a one round lead at the halfway point. In the sixth, both went all out to win the fight in that round. Panettiere concentrated on the body while Chabert went head hunting. Panettiere got the better of it as her body work sent Chabert down to her knees, hugging her body as the count passed her by

PORTMAN/HALE Another fast paced enjoyable action bout. Hale took the first two rounds and Portman the next three. Hale evened the fight by winning the sixth and then went ahead by taking the seventh. In the eighth, Portman showed her acting chops by luring Hale into thinking she was done and caught her with a huge uppercut. Portman then swarmed all over Hale unleashing a flurry of punches that finally sent Hale down to the canvas where she was counted out in a sitting position

BENSON/ PERABO The bout was even at two. In the third Benson caught Perabo with a left hook to the temple that sent Perabo to the canvas. Perabo managed to get to her feet and make it to the bell. Perabo made a remarkable recovery between rounds and went on the offense in round four working on Benson’s body. In the fifth, Perabo landed a strong left the Benson’s solar plexus following up with a one-two to the chin. Benson went down and out

PRESSLY/SCHERZINGER The first five rounds were full of enjoyable action, well maybe excepting the third which was sloppy. The fight was even at the halfway point. In the sixth, a hook to the chin and left to the ear sent Pressly down. She would manage to finish the round but she was badly hurt. Pressly didn’t fare any better in the sixth although she managed to stay of her feet. By the beginning of the eighth the handwriting was on the wall. Scherzinger pounded Pressly at will until the referee stopped the fight. Pressly has now lost six of her last eight. Is the game over for the Hall OF Fame member?

GILLIES/ LOTZ Lotz was in charge early taking the first three rounds. Gillies, then rallied taking the next three and evening the fight at the end of six. Lotz took the lead by winning the seventh only to see Gillies even the bout up in the eighth. In the ninth, Gillies scored a crucial knockdown and went into the lead. Lotz bounced back and came close to winning the bout in the tenth. The decision went to Gillies. Five rounds each but the ninth round knockdown was the deciding factor

McADAMS/ M. KELLY McAdams vowed to start off 2015 with a victory. For the first four rounds it looked like she would do exactly that even though her right eye was swelling. Kelly smelling blood, worked on the right eye more in round five. By round six the eye was essentially closed and Kelly took advantage flooring McAdams with a right to the jaw. McAdams got to her feet and brushed aside the ref’s attempts to stop the fight. It was for naught. Kelly blasted McAdams at will. The referee finally stopped the fight

FISHEL/ S. MITCHELL Fishel is another Hall Of Fame fighter trying to maintain her stature and not doing too well. The fight was even at the end of four rounds which included a JMD third round. Mitchell managed to survive a beatdown in the fifth and came back in the sixth to deck Fishel with a pair of body blasts and a hook to the chin. Fishel managed to rise and finish the round. She didn’t finish the seventh as Mitchell followed up a couple body punches with a huge hook to the jaw sending Fishel to the canvas for the count

DANES/ CUTHBERT After Danes won the first two rounds, Cuthbert took control winning the next three rounds including flooring Danes for a seven count in the fourth. Danes evened up the bout by taking rounds six and seven. In the middle or round eight a right to the chin sent Cuthbert to the deck. She managed to get to her feet only to eat a couple more blasts with another right hand sending her back to the deck for the count. The D Trains rolls again

MUNN/ LILLY A fight with title shot implications. Smackey has Munn as the number one contender and Lilly at 13. A Lilly win would change the picture drastically. After taking the first, Munn had Lilly in bad shape in the second but couldn’t finish. Lilly managed to even the bout at four only to have Munn take the lead again in the fifth In the sixth, Lilly changed the complexion of the fight when she landed a right uppercut and then poured on the punishment. Lilly kept up with the damaging attack finally flooring Munn with a right. Munn got to her feet and just got hammered into oblivion and the referee called a halt to the bout to save Munn from further punishment

LAWRENCE/ WASHINGTON Lawrence is the current queen of the Academy as it’s two Hall of Fame members now suck. She showed why she is and should be the queen. Washington took the first round, but after that it was all Lawrence who took less than seven minutes after the first round to flatten Washington

PAUSINI/DURANCE Pausini managed to keep the fight even through four but you knew sooner or later how this bout was going to end and it wouldn’t be with Pausini’s hand being raised. It ended in the fifth after to Durance uppercut that started at the floor and detonated on Pausini’s chin. The ref could have counted to a hundred and Pausini wouldn’t have made it to her feet

LIVELY/PEREGRYM Lively was in her first bout for her new stable the Academy. She was facing one of the prime lightweights. Lively didn’t do all that badly. She was actually ahead at the end of seven. In the eighth, Lively got caught with a straight right and left hook that sent her to the canvas. She got to her feet, but was helpless as Missy landed everything she wanted. The referee was about to stop the bout when Missy landed a final punch which changed a TKO into KO8

PATTON/HENDRICKS This was another fight in which the eventual loser was ahead at the halfway point. Hendricks’ lead was short lived as Patton had a good time pounding away at Hendricks’ body. The pounding continued into the seventh until eventually a left to the head sent Hendricks down. She regained her feet only to have her face rearranged into a bloody mess and the referee stopped the fight

FREEMAN/C. BELL Like the Pausini/ Durance bout, there was no mystery as to how this bout was going to turn out. Bell had a good third round. Other than that, it was all Freeman. She floored Bell in the fourth, but Bell beat the count. Freeman floored Bell again in the fifth. This time Bell didn’t get up. The 46 year old Bell has now lost six of her last seven, all by KOs. Her only win was over someone named McLean. Its time for her to go rather ungracefully into the sunset

UPTON/RYAN The 47 year old Ryan is another of then over the hill fighters now crowding into the Asylum. I figured she would lose this fight although she had a better chance of winning than Bell. Ryan actually had a big lead at the end of four. Then everything changed as the bout essentially became JMD and Ryan ended up on the short end for the next three rounds, She didn’t finish the seventh as a huge right to the jaw sent her senseless to the canvas for the count

HEYNATZ/THERON The third of the trio of Academy’s faded fighters went against a newcomer to the FCBA. She entered being little bigger than Theron and had a fantastic BBU, ABC record with 12 straight KOs. This was her chance to shine. The fight turned out to be a typical Theron fight being fairly brutal Heynatz went down in the fifth. Theron was down in the seventh. Despite going down in the ninth, Heynatz entered the final round with the lead. An exchange of punches went Theron’s way. Heynatz was hurt and would eventually go down again from a Theron uppercut. This time she stayed down giving that GOAT a KO win. One can’t say Theron’s performance was very impressive. It would be great if she finally hung to gloves up, going out with a win

PERRY/REGAN Lightweight champ vs welter champ. You would think that in this type of bout the welter should win. Well, she did even though it wasn’t easy. Lots of heavy punching, the bout being even at two and again at four. Regan managed to win the fifth In the sixth, Perry landed a devastating punch that sent Regan back into the ropes badly hurt. Perry moved into finish her opponent when Regan landed a right hand counter that blew Perry on her back. She managed to make it to her feet but then sank back down to her knees and the referee waived the fight off giving Regan a TKO6

LOWNDES/WILKINSON JMD. I was down in the bar discussing the upcoming baseball season with the bartender who happens to be another Cardinal fan. Smackey let me know the fight was over but I forgot to ask who won.

YUSTMAN/KERR Was this the most impressive entrance into the FCBA since Regan? Probably. We made Yustman the number five lightweight. I guess things will change. Odette was ahead at the end of five with a fifth round knockdown Yustman had Kerr hurt again in the sixth but didn’t press the advantage. She would regret the mistake in the eighth, as this time it Odette who would go down. I thought it was anyones fight going into the final round. The final round went Kerr’s way when she landed a pile driver right than left Yustman an out a cold bloody mess on the canvas. Kerr is the new Queen of the Ice Hotel

HUDGENS/STEWART This was actually a better fight than I expected. As I pointed out in my predictions as long as Stewart has fought, outside of her debut, she has never fought a top ten flyweight until now. This was a close fight tied at two, tied at four, tied at six and tied at eight. The ninth was different. In the middle of the round Hudgens landed a left hook and straight right both on the button and Stewart went down and out. Stewart did well enough to allow the Wiz to put a positive spin on the bout

HOLT/SPEARS This was quite a fight to close out the card. After the first three rounds were too close to score, Holt took the lead by decking Spears. The seventh round saw the champ go down. Spears couldn’t widen her lead as she was the one to go down in the eighth. I had Spears with the lead going into the final round. Holt came on strong in the final round to win the round and the fight. The second Holt knockdown being the deciding factor. Not a good night for Front Street with the lightweight champ getting KOed and dropping two title fights however the Front Street crew looked good in losing if it can be said one ever looks good in losing. It will be interesting to hear The Wiz philosophize at dinner tonight.
