Jennette’s left hook is becoming a renowned weapon, and she certainly had too much for Michelle Keegan to handle, but how will she fare against Janel, who outpointed Kat Graham on her debut, and looked stylish in doing it.

Jennette’s wearing a pink bra and panties set for this fight, with white gloves and boots, Janel opting for a white vest, blue microskirt, with blue gloves and boots

Round 1

The girls are sparring in the centre of the ring, and Jennette’s doing fine, exchanging jabs with Janel, who starts to move backwards after Jennette’s first left cross, then counter attacks, and she gives Jennette a pair of jabs which have the blonde moving away, only to hit her hard to the body when she advances, Jennette happy to hit Janel to the body if her head isn’t available, but the brunette’s staying mobile, not really throwing many punches, but at least not being hit – but that’s Jennette’s round.

Round 2

Jennette’s looking strong tonight, and she’s after Janel again in the second, whips in a left to the older girl’s ribs, but Janel absorbes that fairly well, and now she’s on the move, and her gloves are landing in Jennette’s face pretty much as she likes, with the blonde not really bothering too much about protecting herself, just swinging lunging punches at Janel, and the brunette’s far too cagey to be caught by these tactics, keeps clear, dances in, unloads a brace of jabs, and dances back again, Jennette being outboxed and outthought, her lack of nous almost embarrassing as Janel gives her a lesson, her punches already turning Jennette’s cheeks pink, and that’s been a big round for the Pretty Little Puncher.

Round 3

The girls trade a little in the opeing stages, and this favours Jennette, because she gets home with three or four good shots, forcing Janel backwards, but as she gets across the ring to land another one, she kind of runs in Janel’s left jab, which pushes her head backwards and upwards, and she’s been slightly hurt by that, and she covers as Janel hits her to the mouth with a left, and to the cheek with a right, takes one in the belly as well, but fights back from that, clipping Janel across the lips with a right hook, before closing the round well, getting a good jab, cross, jab combination through the brunette’s guard, although that’s still a round to Janel, who had control for most of it.

Round 4

Janel’s started the round well, and she’s just so evasive, Jennette can’t get near her, and when she does, Janel’s picking her off for fun, jabbing her head backwards with accuracy, and the blonde girl’s in retreat and backing into the ropes, but maybe she’s suckered Janel in this time, because she meets the advancing brunette with a right jab and a left, followed by a right cross, the result being that Janel stumbles backwards, and gets turned by Jennette, who thumps her in the ribs with two more right hooks, Janel really not liking taking this sort of medicine from the blonde, who certainly has this round under control, although Janel manages to clinch, hold, and run down the clock to stop her from landing anything more telling.

Round 5

Janel looked uncertain in those closing seconds on the fourth, and she’s more so now as Jennette gives her a left hook to the midsection early in the round, which may just set the brunette up for punishment, and she seems to buckle a little after that, Jennette looking to press home her advantage, hooking Janel to the face with her right hand, the older girl drifting into the ropes, where she defends herself well, blocking the blonde’s bigger punches, and she’s even starting to land her own jabs once more as Jennette starts to tire, knocking her backwards, and it’s Jennette who is forced to clinch as the round ends this time, even though she has controlled the earlier part of it.

Round 6

Janel seems to have been buoyed by her success in the closing seconds of the fifth, and she’s back on her toes and giving Jennette a boxing lesson again, the blonde beginning to bruise around her right eye, which Janel’s beginning to focus on, landing a jab and a cross right on it, Jennette floundering a little now as she gets poked towards the ropes, and she’s throwing shots at Janel’s body again – and connects with a hard left hook to the brunette’s ribs! That hurt Janel, and she starts to struggle as Jennette uses her strength to batter her backwards, the blonde girl outmuscling her in the closing stages, hurting her with a right hook to the jaw, but she takes a swift combination before the close as Janel refuses to be bullied and Jennette’s right eye looks really sore as Janel wins that round.

Round 7

Jennette looks annoyed as the girls resume, and she’s cuffing Janel with a right hook to her jaw, and following that with a double jab, closes in to try to hurt the brunette, but discovers that Janel’s not co-operating, fighting back, and she hits the blonde with a swift left, right, left which sends her to the ropes, Janel giving Jennette a good left hook on that swollen cheek, the blonde flattened against the ropes, but Jennette just doesn’t bother much with defence, and hits back, punching her way out of trouble, taking a couple from Janel, but landing a right and a left, following that with another left, that hook of hers nailing the brunette and sending her backwards, Jennette hurting her with another one as well, and Janel’s knees give a little shudder, Jennette hitting her in the midriff with her right again, and following that with a clubbing left hook, right on Janel’s jaw, which drops her to the canvas, Janel starts to get to her feet, but her legs give way before she makes it, and it’s over!

Result: Jennette McCurdy knocked out Janel Parris in round 7.

That was maybe the result most fight fans would have expected, but in fairness Janel outboxed Jennette tonight, losing the fight really because of the blonde girl’s powerful punching, and there really seems to be some scope for a rematch sometime quite soon, as these girls are surely destined to climb the flyweight rankings.
