SARAH HYLAND VS HEATHER HEMMENS
(Words: Vassago / Results: Lookout!)

BEFORE: It's almost a career-defining fight for Sarah Hyland who still seeks her maiden SSB success after six defeats on her dismal record. Some pundits think that if she can't even make it competitive let alone victorious against IFFI's Heather Hemmens then she will officially inherit the flyweight wooden spoon status unchallenged.

Hyland's VERY focused during the introductions, fully aware of the high stakes tonight whereas Hemmens twirls around in her corner and tries to look as cool as possible but she glances over at her opponent with a mean spark in her eye which perhaps indicates she really wants to tear Sarah apart to pile on more misery on the lacklustre indie warrior.

Sarah Hyland wears a black basque top & matching knickers, white boots and red gloves. Black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Heather Hemmens wears a red basque top, black knickers, red boots & white gloves. Dark brown hair in loose curls. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Both girls come out flying from their corners and seeks immediate authority but as they lean on with the right on right jabbing it's Hemmens who delivers the bigger punch and snaps Sarah's head on the spot while only getting grazed on the nose herself. Sarah aches out and sags on her knees already as Heather bats away at her face in close range and starts adding some vicious pressure well inside the opening minute. Sarah fails to break through at all afterward and after a couple of head snaps later she seeks respite trying to circle herself out of Heather's range. She manages to avoid further disaster in the second minute but the sheer amount of effort brings Hemmens back on top in the third when she cross hooks Hyland's guard and connects with her nose. Sarah's just a punching back afterward, gets backed into the ropes where Heather romps away to more head snaps and shuts Sarah's eyes; the younger brunette just can't live with the pace of the onslaught and as she clinches her foe late in the going, Hemmens still pierces her ribcage to underline her dominance. Ouch!

Round 2:
Hyland's eyes look worryingly bleak already; the poor girl just can't seem to mount any sort of respectable showing and Hemmens' all over her to start the second again, this time working hard on the ab muscles and slipping into navel punishment that bends Sarah forward and makes her yelp in discomfort. Heather shoves her away and goes for the kill, swings on the temple... but misses and fails to land a follow up on the chin as Hyland sidesteps and counters over the top to smash one hook into Heather's nose and spin her back to the ropes in a sudden change of power... Sarah's eyes open really wide as she charges after the IFFI brunette, Heather still bouncing off the ropes when she gets nailed on the nose again and sinks against the turnbuckle with Hyland pumping leather into her body and keeping her trapped butt-in-ropes through the second minute. Hemmens manages to clinch her though and still shows superior strength when she shoves the younger brunette back to midring where another right on right exchange follows but this time both heads snap around as Sarah stays put and actually signs off the round better by rocking Hemmens' curly locks more efficiently.

Round 3:
Hemmens looks utterly annoyed after that second round and jumps in for payback; she beats the equally aggressive Hyland for the overhand right and drills the brow ridge to assume control; a measured follow up bounces off Hyland's rack and makes her groan again as Heather targets the head thereafter and pounds the younger brunette back to the ropes half way through the round. She simply overwhelms Sarah with amount of her efforts as the indie girl struggles to stretch her elbows and sags really deep after eating one jabbing series on the nose too many... Hemmens shrieks in her actions too; she's all over Hyland's high guard in the second minute and shatters it apart as Sarah fails to escape and sinks butt-in-ropes as a result; Heather lacks the killer punch to even score a knockdown on the visibly aching opponent and the last section of the round underlines all of Sarah's troubles, zero footwork to speak of and single punch response which impresses no one as Heather drills a hook on the brow ridge to make it bleed just before the bell and probably deprive Hyland of any mental strength by this stage.

Round 4:
Sarah does looks pretty banged up with that cut brow ridge and she's even in worse shape mentally and Heather takes full advantage of the wounded prey as she hassles the younger brunette for a few second before sending one straight up the alley and catching the Hyland chin with full force... this uppercut renders the legs numb and Sarah sways to the left with a loud groan; Hemmens zips past the shaking gloves with a right handed follow up on the bloody brow ridge and shuts Hyland's eyes for good, the poor girl crashes down on her side and blubbers in agony as she can only roll to her knees and is counted out while still on all fours, the blood from the battered brow ridge leaving visible stains on the white canvas.... KO4 Heather Hemmens in ultra convincing fashion!

AFTER: It's rather obvious that Sarah Hyland can barely take a punch these days and there are no signs whatsoever she can win that maiden SSB fight anytime soon! Heather Hemmens isn't exactly a championship contender and she was dangerously exposed in the second round but still managed to dismantle one of the weakest punchers in the whole division without breaking too much sweat.

That's exactly what Hemmens' employers need too; the word on the street was that IFFI doesn't get enough prime time PPV exposure over the last months and regardless of Hyland's record a good KO finish will always earn you a positive review or two! Heather seems to acknowledge that as she resumes her twirls before sending a sobbing Sarah back to the locker room with a big slap on the bums to complete her antics. A WIN is always a WIN! Just ask Tess Valmore...

Final result: Heather Hemmens def. Sarah Hyland KO4.
