TESS VALMORE

LANCASTER/ GILLAN This bout got the card off to a rousing start. The two put on a heck of fight. Gillian jumped out to a big lead by taking three of the first four rounds including a knockdown of Lancaster in the third. Lancaster evened up the fight by winning round five and decking Gillan in round six. I had the fight even at the end of eight. Lancaster took round nine, Going into the final round neither fighter had much left, however Lancaster proved she had more in the tank than Gillan by landing a hook to the head that put Gillan down for the count. Lancaster was so gassed she couldn’t even make it back to her corner. Instead she sagged to her knees next to Gillan

PATTON/ O’KEEFE O’Keefe was looking good as she took the first two rounds. After that, she didn’t look too good as it was all Patton. Patton softened up O’Keefe with a body attack in rounds three and four. In the fifth, Patton switched to going to the head with success opening a cut to O’Keefe’s nose and having her wobbly at the end of the round. Patton, then. ended the bout in the sixth as she continued the head attack finally putting O’Keefe on the canvas with hook to the nose. O’Keefe didn’t try to get up as she was counted out

McPHEE/ GALE As was noted, Gale entered this fight as the odds on favorite and as it turned out the odds makers were right. McPhee managed to survive the first round to come back and win rounds two and three. Round four went Gale’s way as she had McPhee badly hurt to the body. Gale smelled blood at the beginning of round five and went on a destroy mission that ended when a straight right actually lifted McPhee off her feet. She ended up on the canvas out cold

ATKINSON/ M.RYAN After a sloppy first round, Atkinson took round two only to have Ryan surge head by winning rounds three and four. In the fifth, Atkinson sent Ryan to the canvas with a right to the solar plexus and a hook to the chin. Ryan managed to get to her feet and finish the round. One could say that was a mistake as Ryan was badly hurt to the body in the sixth. In the seventh, it was all Atkinson, who finally ended the fight with a right to the head.

I was 4-0 in the predictions for these fights, however predictions for the future fights are going to be on the dicey side particularly in the losers brackets. We will get those predictions up for the next round in the very near future
