LET'S TRY THIS AGAIN AT THE ASYLUM

(REMATCH FROM FEBRUARY FISTICUFFS AT THE ASYLUM)

BEFORE:

"This is ridiculous," Gisele fairly spits, eyes full of fire. "Decker continues to run and hide. Over three years now! Over three years since I was robbed in a decision against her and no rematch! So, last month, I came in here and knocked out her gatekeeper, Swan. But, do I have Decker? NO! Swan AGAIN! I have to beat her again! Well, that's JUST what I'll do. And then Decker will have NO place to hide!"

"You know," says Serinda, eyes as hard as granite, "I was planning to give her credit for last month. She caught me. She won. All that. But, I'm getting a little tired of Gisele talking about DECKER. This isn't ABOUT Decker, it's about YOU and ME, Gisele. You and the GATEKEEPER. I'm not going to forget that word, Gisele. Not for a moment. Count on it."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Foxey Lady' you hear pounding through the arena, and, to the strains of Hendrix's guitar, here comes 'The Hottest Player In The Game', Serinda Swan..."

McCarthy: "..."

Cassie: "Nothing to say, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Don't START with me, Scabbo..."

O'Dell: "Swan clearly on a mission. Down the aisle and into the ring quickly. Helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that red bikini the boys like, and that's 'Come On' by Blackcowboy, and here comes the Brazilian Bombshell Gisele Bundchen..."

Tess: "Gisele, of course, getting the honors tonight off her shocking upset win over Swan at last month's Asylum. That knocked Serinda out of the title picture. I shudder to think what a second Bundchen win might do..."

McCarthy: "Might send Swan out the door right behind Graham and Rambin."

O'Dell: "Bundchen into the ring and helped off with the robe. She's wearing the same sea foam green two-piece she wore last month. Ladies staring at one another across the ring. Laser heat being exchanged. Time for some picks. Tess likes Swan. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Gisele beat this overrated Dancing Hooker last month. She can do it again."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Here we go! Swan right forward, after Gisele, banging the big Front Street jab home, stepping in, Bundchen tying up, clinching, hooking body. Serinda responding in kind now, and we've got trech warfare going in on there, both fighters digging body from about six inches away..."

Cassie: "Two girls with something to prove, and they plan to do it by breaking the other girl down..."

O'Dell: "Swan using the shoulder on Gisele, backing her up a step, clearing her arms for more body work. Bundchen clinches, hooks the ribs, ties up around the head. Swan shoves her off with both hands, bangs the abs..."

Tess: "It's getting NASTY in there, Jenny. They're just PUNISHING one another with these body shots."

O'Dell: "Indeed, they are. Swan the more physical girl, and she's using that to her advantage, moving Bundchen with the shoulders, punching free of clinches. Bundchen holding her own, though, banging back with gusto. Almost nothing going upstairs as the final seconds tick away. Body and more body to the bell. Staredown! Swan's round. But Gisele unmoved."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with more forward movement from Serinda, sticking that jab, doubling up on it now, backing Bundchen up, dropping in good right hands. Gisele being forced to give ground here, Swan creating distance with the jab, changing terms here, making this about ranged boxing..."

Cassie: "And Serinda has the edge here. She's quicker and stronger. She's putting Gisele on the defensive, forcing her to back and cover..."

O'Dell: "And NEARLY DROPPING HER WITH A RIGHT HAND! Bundchen staggers and stumbles and barely stays up and HERE COMES SERINDA! Swan banging away with both hands, trapping Bundchen on the ropes and ravaging that body now..."

McCarthy: "Taking advantage of Gisele's high, tight guard. Going to make her drop it or pay for it..."

O'Dell: "And she's paying and paying a premium. Swan TORCHING the torso, rocking the ribs, lathering the lats! They're right above us and we can hear the impacts and hear Gisele screaming into her gloves..."

Tess: "Bundchen willing to ship it, though, Jenny. She's keeping the guard up, jabbing back, hanging on..."

O'Dell: "And she's running clock. Ten seconds to go. Five seconds. There's the bell! Big round for Swan, but Bundchen with a defiant look at the end. The Brazilian beauty still standing!"

Tess: "But now trailing 20-18."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Back to work in the third. Serinda establishing distance with the left hand, liking these terms and enforcing them. Gisele getting the guard up, willing to counter punch now, showing some nice defense here..."

McCarthy: "Not surprised Bundchen can do a little of this. She's done ok boxing in the past."

O'Dell: "And she's definitely holding her own here. Bundchen not allowing herself to be pre-empted. Making sure she's getting her counters off and in combination. Landing some good stuff in those responses..."

Cassie: "And that's a key to good counter punching. It can't be one punch here and one punch there. You've got to put them together."

O'Dell: "Bundchen doing that, and so is Swan. Both landing some lusty stuff as we head into the final thirty seconds. Seriinda a GOOD right hand snaps the head back. Gisele responds with a flurry and Serinda fires right back and we've got some serious action going! A barrage of punches fly right to the bell!"

Tess: "Staredown!"

O'Dell: "This is getting more personal as we go. Competitive round, but Swan again."

Tess: "And Serinda's now pulled off that early trifecta that puts Gisele in a serious hole, 30-27."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with Swan working that left again. Gisele again with the gloves high, now stepping forward, tying up, thumping body. Swan shaking Bundchen off, banging some body of her own..."

Cassie: "Gisele recreating the terms of the first, which might work better for her than the boxing we saw in the last round."

O'Dell: "Swan unconcerned about it. Willing to stay in there, wrestle around, and bang. Both ladies getting some power into the punches now, looking to tenderize one another, and doing a pretty good job of it. You can hear the 'thwack' of leather hitting meat..."

McCarthy: "'Thwack'?"

O'Dell: "It's onomatopoeia, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Ono what now?"

O'Dell: "Onoma...it means...it's like...NEVERMIND!"

McCarthy: "Who peed in YOUR cornflakes?"

O'Dell: "Fighters grinding away at one another. Clinching, shoving, working body. Could hold this round in the proverbial phone booth. Final seconds ticking off. Both women getting work done. Neither willing to back off a step. It's all about who can take more 'thwacks' and both women shipping them right to the bell. Close one. Maybe Gisele this time."

Tess: "Which puts her on the board, though she's still down 39-37."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins with Gisele again bobbing forward with the gloves high. She wants to get right back into the trenches with Serinda, and Swan more than willing. The slow, reductive grinding begins again. Both women putting 80 percent or more of their effort in the bodies..."

McCarthy: "If Front Street HAD any trainers..."

Cassie(coughing): "Two Hall Of Famers..."

McCarthy: "SHUT IT, SCABBO! They's tell Swan to get back to the jab, move the feet, create the space. When she has that, she can out box Gisele."

O'Dell: "She's holding her own on these terms, though, and there's no question Serinda believes, and I think she's right, that her body can win a duel of attrition against Bundchen's. Right now, though, both fighters holding up well. Both digging hard to the body. Both looking to impose will, and, so far, no one's done it..."

Tess: "Not for lack of trying, though, Jenny. It's clear this isn't just about winning, it's about BREAKING."

O'Dell: "Certainly seems to be, and no one's doing any breaking at the moment. Thirty seconds left in a brutal, close in war of a round. Bundchen POUNDING Swan's midsection. Serinda WHACKING Gisele's ribs. Neither woman backing off. Neither backing down. Five seconds. Three. Bell. And another staredown. Swan's round, and she's in control of this one."

Tess: "49-46 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with Swan NAILING Gisele with a couple of jabs. She's double tapping that thing now, zeroing in with it, stopping Bundchen, leaving her hanging outside where Serinda can follow up with hard right hands..."

McCarthy: "Bundchen still with the hands high, still wants to close, but Swan's got the laser sights locked on at the moment..."

O'Dell: "Sure does, and she's using them to great effect. Bundchen thrown to the defensive, pre-empted, getting touched up now. Gisele not hurt, but she's definitely getting scuffed. Serinda putting punches together as well as she has all night..."

Cassie: "Combinations very sharp. She's not just stopping Gisele, she's backing her up."

O'Dell: "Indeed. Serinda stepping forward, grabbing canvas. Bundchen fighting a strategic retreat, being forced to give ground, firing back in counter in spots, but being out hit, out powered, and out worked right to the bell. Swan's round, no question."

Tess: "And it's now 59-55 with four to go."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh begins with Swan looking to press Bundchen. Serinda walking forward behind that jab and Gisele quickly tying her up. Bunchen hanging in there now, not giving ground, wants to get back to the grinding, inside stuff we saw earlier in the fight. Both fighters going to work on the bodies again..."

Cassie: "Swan not worried about trading inside with Gisele. She's stronger, and she's proven that all night."

O'Dell: "Bundchen tying Swan up around the head, hooking the body with her free hand. Serinda shoving off, got cuffed a GOOD one in the eye right there. Serinda backing away and covering up right now. She's giving some ground..."

McCarthy: "Got some laces, I think. Having problems with the left eye."

O'Dell: "Swan backing into the ropes. Going to play the pocket now. High guard, leaning back in the ropes. Gisele banging away, body, then upstairs. Swan jabbing back in counter in spots, but mostly playing defense here..."

McCarthy: "Running some clock here. Not a bad strategy. Has a big lead. Can give a round away while she shakes this off..."

O'Dell: "Final seconds ticking off. Gisele fighting lead now, scoring in bunches to the body, mostly getting picked off when she goes upstairs. There's the bell. Bundchen's round..."

Tess: "But Swan still with a solid lead 68-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Ready for the eighth and that left eye of Swan's does not look good. Pretty swollen, Mac..."

McCarthy: "No doubt about it and Bundchen going to go right after it, no doubt."

O'Dell: "Gisele wants to close here. Swan working a solid jab, though. Has that back on target. Keeping Bundchen at bay, controlling her with it and DOWN GOES SWAN! RIGHT HAND..."

Cassie: "Never saw it!"

O'Dell: "Serinda dropped to her back. Bundchen to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Swan back to her feet at seven. Referee going to give her the mandatory and waive Gisele forward! Bundchen all in now, buzzsawing punches at Swan! Serinda backed to the ropes again, high guard, putting the body on sale, but Gisele all about the head..."

Cassie: "She wants to finish this thing. She's tossing all the reserves in. Won't have much left if she doesn't get the job done..."

O'Dell: "Gisele firing away with both barrels. Swan jabbing back...RIGHT HAND BUNDCHEN wobbles Swan again..."

McCarthy: "She's not seeing these right hands..."

O'Dell: "Serinda holding on as we head down the stretch...ANOTHER RIGHT FROM BUNDCHEN AND IT'S OVER! REFEREE STOPPING IT! Swan protesting bitterly, but it's not going to matter..."

McCarthy: "It's the right call. That eye is closing up and she can't see. But, she's going to be able to see her way right out of Front Street after this!"

O'Dell: "Swan pleading with the referee, but he's not having it! It happened again! Your winner by TKO8 is Gisele Bundchen!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and what ought to be an interesting interview with Tess Valmore..."

Tess: "I have our winner, Gisele Bundchen, and, Gisele, I'm sure you have plenty to say..."

Gisele: "All I want to know is, who else do I have to beat? Who else does Decker have to throw in my way? What do I have to do to get her? Give me a name! I'll sign the contract. Whatever I have to do. Whoever I have to beat. Keep throwing these obstacles in my way, but, sooner or later, Decker, I'll GET to you and get my rematch and prove who the top model in the FCBA is! I'll leave a pile of broken bodies. I'll just keep on destroying these girls until you fight me. So, keep running. Keep hiding. Keep proving that you're as yellow as that bikini you wear to the ring. Sooner or later, Decker. Sooner or later, you'll HAVE to fight me. And you'll end up just like Swan!"
