(BBU Independent vs Lioness Club)

BEFORE: Sam Faiers is another independent fighter to make an appearance in Barnet; the raunchy Essex girl has performed well against Lisa Maffia on her debut a couple of months ago but challenging the experienced Nicola Roberts seemed like a bad idea so early in her career until the Girls Aloud redhead suffered a heavy stoppage at the hands of Natasha Hamilton last month. Charlie Webster thinks that Sam is the perfect opponent for Nicola's redemption victory but even Lioness coach Gina Wild doesn't seem so convinced about Roberts' chances tonight since the redhead was mentally exposed before and once has to wonder if she really recovered from that Hamilton disaster already.
Sam Faiers wears a floral schemed bikini and orange gloves. Nicola Roberts wears a white corset top, black hip-huggers and golden gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
There's nothing wrong with Nicola's confidence early on as she thumps Sam to the body and seeks immediate breakthrough however the blonde responds over the top and seems keen to knock the singer's head off as she wobbles her to the side down the stretch and assumes unexpected control. She keeps digging her mitts into Nicola's chest thereafter and pushes her back towards the ropes where she tries to spike her on the guts but endures a much needed by the Barnet crowd response instead. Roberts settles into a moaning struggle but still smacks Faiers' between the gloves and halts her charge, both girls clinch each other along the ropes and have to be separated by the ref; Sam still scores the first punch aftewards and whacks the singer on the mouth to spin her back to the ropes but runs out of time to add further punishment.
Round 2:
Sam really fancies giving Nicola a big thump early and hassles her around the ring full of confidence but the singer digs into her experience and lets the blonde wear herself out before mounting a proper attack. A right overhand stops Faiers in her tracks and Nicola jumps into close range and punish the midriff before clipping the jugs and wobbling the younger girl away. Sam tries to resume her stalking attire but gets blasted by a right cross on the nose and wobbles again, gets shoved into the ropes thereafter with Roberts pounding away at her body and rocking the boobs again.
Round 3:
Nicola settles into another close range tangle as Sam flicks a couple of hooks on the mouth to stick to her aggressive approach early but then she gets tagged by a series of jabs on the temples and Roberts exposes her guard a bit too much to make it look accidental, Faiers still leans on her and tries to pierce the high guard but is rooted to the spot when the singer mauls her chest in the second minute and thumps back to the ropes afterwards. Sam is forced to send single punches from the back foot but struggles for precision and is nailed by a clubbing left hand on the nose right at the bell instead.
Round 4:
Nicola jumps into hassling mode and just digs her mitts into the blonde's guts as Sam begins to moan for the first time tonight in wake of that onslaught and tries to clinch the redhead instead of dishing out a proper boxing reply. Nicola breaks free and beats her for a right overhand that smacks Faiers across the nose and bends her to the side, Roberts drives a jabbing combo into her navel and backs her into the ropes where she peppers the guard aside and mauls the jugs again to sink Sam into a moaning galore. The blonde girl can't fight the onslaught back and covers up in desperate fashion whereas Nicola keeps thumping away even if she fails to land that punishing blow that would send Sam down for the count.
Round 5:
Sam doesn't have the legs to escape the redhead's wrath and this time she gets pummelled back to the ropes inside the opening minute already as Nicola buries her under a barrage of leather and rocks the temples to drop the guard for good. Sam tries a last-ditch jabbing rally but skims off the redhead's jugs in uncontrolled struggle before getting whacked by a crisp right hand on the jaw.. she sinks on her knees with eyes closed and fails to cover up for a looming left handed cross that nails her on the nose AND SENDS TUMBLING DOWN ON HER SIDE... Roberts struts back to her corner quickly and Sam sits up checking for some damage however there's no blood marking her demise just yet and she gets up at eight still looking good to go... Nicola is pushed by coach Gina Wild to finish off the job but Faiers jumps into escape mode and hangs around away from the striking zone letting the singer wear herself out... Nicola keeps swinging but doesn't catch her foe in close range anymore and abandons the pursuit in the dying seconds; prefers to give herself a fresh chance in the next round.
Round 6:
Sam looks a bit uneasy over that knockdown but all her counterattack plans go for naught when Nicole squares up to her moments after the bell and whips a left/right combo on the eye that shatters the guard and roots the blonde girl to the spot in the middle of the ring... Sam's gloves drop worryingly low and she almost never sees the redhead piling on a vicious uppercut straight up her alley... that punch almost snaps Sam's head sideways and she just COLLAPSES FLAT ON HER BACK moments later... that was a wicked punch from the Girls Aloud singer that caught Faiers cold... in fact Nicola is shocked she managed to land such a fine haymaker and has to be dragged away by the ref before he can start the count... Sam sits up at five but stares at Roberts' feet over in the Lioness corner and looks woozy at best, she makes an attempt to get up but fails to regain her balance and collapses on her backside before crashing down on her side again... it's a no go for the proud Essex blonde! KO6 Nicola Roberts!!!
AFTER: That was a much better showing from the redhead who settled into a nice destruction rhythm after a very slow start. Getting mocked by Sam Faiers on twitter is perhaps the best thing she could have hoped for as she dismantled the TV starlet in no-nonsense fashion that should at least get her confidence back into an operational level.
As for Sam, well, she might be a better boxer than her sister Billie but right now she can't back up her talk with some actual fighting skills in the ring. She'll need to find her feet in BBU really quickly or else she'll be stuck doing undercards against some of the weaker PageThree girls instead of top-selling British singers like Roberts.
Final result: Nicola Roberts def. Sam Faiers KO6.
