BEFORE: Cheryl Cole is really keen to build upon her somewhat upset victory over Hannah Spearritt last month which snapped her twelve month losing streak and boosted her confidence ahead of a planned Girls Aloud percking order clash with ex-bandmate Nadine Coyle. The relationship between the two singers has deteriorated badly over the last several months to the point an internal fight is effectively unavoidable by this stage. However it's essential that Cheryl keeps her winning mojo alive against Kara Tointon tonight since Denise van Outen thinks the Geordie girl was very fortunate to take advantage of Spearritt's long absence from the ring and a more frequently active opponent like the EastEnders actress would provide a much better inquiry into Cole's current form - regardless of the fact Kara herself has fallen on hard times and seems to be drifting towards the lower areas of the flyweight division.
It's the Main Event of the Spring Grudge Sessions from Cardiff and joining Denise van Outen in the booth for this one is Kear's Kats Nikki Sanderson who's set her targets on both Cole and Tointon and fully accepts the fact Chezza might need to get past Nadine Coyle first: "Quite frankly I don't care about the fight order. I can whoop Kara's ass before I crush whatever's left of that annoying Geordie cow next! Because let me say this straight, Cheryl Cole is a filthy cow that deserves to be punished. When the Girls Aloud were still under Gail Kim's watch they scratched and pulled each other's hair all the time. But Gail strictly prevented Cheryl and Nadine from sparring bouts as everyone knew that was personal between these two... I hope Nads leaves something for me to scribble on! As for now, go get her, Kara!"
So much for the BBU TV being objective but Nikki's first class looks and feisty attitude has won her fans all across the country.... back to the ring we go and we have Kara Tointon wearing a pink bikini set with black trim and black gloves. Light brown hair tied in loose waves. Cheryl Cole wears a golden bikini top, black knickers and golden gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a wide ponytail on top of her head. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Cheryl wants to stuck some leather into Kara immediately after the bell and lashes out at the fellow brunette full of confidence but meets solid resistance and fails to slice her guard while getting whacked in the guts instead as the actress is equally determined to make her mark and spikes the singer's ribcage to leave her stranded in the middle of the ring. Both girls smack each other thereafter but Cheryl's punches lack strenght and Kara's body attack proves to be more successful as she reels the Geordie brunette back into the ropes and drills her navel once Cole just sags on the back foot and allows the actress to punch her into full defence mode. Chezza tries to clinch her but has to protect her midsection as Tointon leans on her and keeps working the high tempo assault to shove the singer into a deep hole in the dying seconds of the round and underline her superior position by slashing across her jaw with a piercing uppercut that snaps Cole's head to the side.
Round 2:
Despite that tough experience Cheryl jumps into another pursuit of the actress and snaps her head back with an overhand approach before eating some across the mouth again as Kara refuses to buckle and stucks her gloves right into the singer's face instead. Both girls throw forceful leather in the opening minute literally trying to knock each other's head off - which gets Nikki Sanderson really excited in the booth - but it's Tointon with the brakthrough again as she slams a left/right combo on the nose to whip Chezza off her feet and spinning back into the ropes with a loud yelp. Kara sets off after her and Cole has to revert into escape mode, she manages to avoid a looming jabbing frenzy but yields real estate in numbers afterwards and is fortunate enough Tointon doesn't nail her with one of several menacing swings along the way. The pace of the chase & run game slows down in the final minute but Cole doesn't really look so intimidating anymore and that results in Kara truly seeing that victory light at the end of the tunnel even though she wastes unneccessary energy in fruitless pursuit here. Chezza's dancer legs are just agile enough to stay away from trouble.
Round 3:
Kara leans on the singer and tries to chop her head off in close range again but it's Cheryl with some rack mauling that scores the meaningful punches and makes the actress yelp in discomfort for the first time tonight. Tointon swings on the head again but misses badly and gets wrenched by a piercing jab on the chest and sags on her heels while the Geordie brunette unloads immediate ribcage pounding before clipping the breasts again in a spirited fashion. Kara's feet are rooted to the spot and she fails to jump away from the striking zone, wobbles side to side briefly and when she bets beaten for a right on right overhand the entire Cardiff Arena crowd gasps for air as Chezza just nails Kara's left eye and tears the skin underneath it to slump the actress on her knees... a left hander follow up blasts Tointon on the nose moments later and finally shatters her resilience allowing Cole to punch her back to the ropes in the final minute where a yelping Kara just sags in earmuff cover and endures the fellow brunette slicing through on the breadbasket to run away with the round in rather vicious fashion.
Round 4:
Cheryl just stares at the cut under Kara's left eye and it's obvious the actress never expected such a punch causing her so much trouble. She tries to death stare her opponent but Chezza just blows her kiss and makes the slit throat gesture to indicate she's fully committed into wrecking the actress cold tonight. Another furious tangle is enforced courtesy of Cole's lightning fast approach and Kara is quickly reeled on her heels as she fails to match the singer's intensity and after taking a couple of heavy jabs on the mouth she immediately ducks for cover and dances along the ropes in sheer avoidance. Nikki Sanderson is truly upset about this change of tactics and there's every sign the EastEnders brunette allowed that cut to get into her mind and allthough Cole struggles for accuracy in this round she's put under no pressure at all and just spikes Kara's flesh back & forth to keep the actress looking sluggish and plain SCARED through the bell.
Round 5:
BIG PUNCH CHERYL!!! The singer zips past the high guard and nails the actress on the lips causing the mouthpiece to fly off onto the canvas and sink Tointon on her knees literally three seconds into the fifth round! And she gives the actress another big thump on the brow ridge before the ref can pull her off which earns immediate jeering and booing from the Cardiff crowd! Chezza doesn't care one bit about this obvious gamesmanship and the fact she gets a point deducted off her scorecards... Kara takes her time in recovery and tells the ref Cole should be DQ on the spot alas that ain't gonna happen much to Nikki Sanderson's dismay too! The action is resumed after almost a full minute but whatever recovery Tointon hoped for goes astray since she gets blasted between the arms and endures a quick barrage in close range ripping her face into lumps as Cole jumps into frenzy mode and simply pounds the stuffing out of the clearly struggling actress... a moaning Kara gets shoved into the corner and can only cover up high as Cheryl slips low and pierces her ribcage instead to run away with another round and firmly stamp her authority on this fight at half-distance.
Round 6:
Nikki Sanderson's mic was turned off during the interval since there was simply too much abuse aimed at the Georgie singer but the dissecting proccess of Kara Tointon continues into the sixth as the actress can't live with Chezza pumping leather into her face again and quite frankly punching the guard into shreds. Kara's head snaps back all over the place and she can only skim off the forearms as Cole works the punishment drill and pounds her hapless foe onto the ropes through the minute mark and lays into her guts as Kara slumps on her knees and is rendered into a dummy punchbag... a series of hooks on the liver area make the actress scream in pain before Cheryl finall stucks an uppercut into the jaw to SEND TOINTON CRASHING DOWN ON ALL FOURS... this is beatdown mode now and Kara's lucky enough not to have her cut opened even further... she makes a desperate lunge for survival and gets the go ahead from the referee but simply sags on the ropes and has Cole stucking more leather into her chest and face afterwards; pillar-to-post beating from the Geordie's finest (but don't tell Jade Thirlwall that) however even Chezza runs out of gas now and drops her intensity in the final minute; she keeps working the single hand to punish the fellow brunette's face but the clock expires before she can completely annihilate her.
Round 7:
Kara's a smoking wreck now and just about rises up for the seventh, another case of a girl's pride being more important than common sense and following Chelsee Healey's decision NOT to quit on her stool... however Chezza has no problems whatsoever to batter Kara standing still with eyes barely above the waist line and she just smokes the actress from both sides trying to knock her head off... Darn it, ref! Just let the girl live for another day! Tointon's half conscious when she trips back to the ropes and bends forward into Cole's ripping uppercut that lift her head up & down... the crying scowl signals the end of her resistance and she stutters out her submission: "Staaaahp.. staaahpp... I can't... ", Cheryl wants to ignore the verbal submission and knock Kara out to the orbit but ref finally hauls her off and shoves back to the Lioness corner as the brunette actress bursts into tears and collapses on her knees bending her head against the canvas in the proccess. Gruesome TKO7 Cheryl Cole!!!
AFTER: Kara simply got wrecked into a shameful submission but that's what a grudge fight is all about! Denise van Outen approves this performance and while Nikki Sanderson concedes she'll have to scrap whatever is left of Kara Tointon before she can think of destroying Cheryl Cole herself, the proud Geordie singer is all over the ropes celebrating her brutal stoppage victory amid a certain ammount of jeers and whistles. Not everyone in Cardiff is a Chezza fan and the rabbit punch in the fifth round was uncalled for even if it made no difference to the eventual outcome of the fight.
Cheryl ignores the collapsed Tointon wreck and grabs the announcer's mic to make her imminient plans clear: "That's two in a row now! First Spearrit and now this wannabe actress nobody care about! However it's about damn time Nadine Coyle admitted my superiority and I promise I will show her no mercy whatsover. I know she has the guts to offend me on twitter and elsewhere but now she needs to walk the walk. I challenge her into a proper grudge match to be settled via KO or TKO only! No judges scorecards hogwash! Me. Her. Me knocking the crap out of her and making her admit I'm the better woman, the better singer and just the best of 'em all! It's that simple, Nads! The bull stops right here!
This statement really gets the Cardiff crowd going again and even the booing stops all of the sudden; there's nothing like a grudge fight between former bandmates which were at odds for several years now to finally settle the pecking order. Nikki Sanderson smiles back in the booth and tells Denise van Outen she'd like both these tramps to knock each other out but will settle for anything that leaves the loser spitting out her own blood and the winner in need of a facial reconstruction! Ouch! There's no doubt she really means that though...
