TESS VALMORE

I’m sorry for the late review, but the after PPV dinner with the Wiz went into the early hours of the morning Then, I had to get to the company plane and fly back to Nashville. I managed to get a couple hours of sleep before going to Tractorpull headquarters where I am based

J.PORTER / LEVY Porter wanted to move and jab. Levy concentrated on cutting down the ring space. For the first five rounds Porter’s strategy worked better as she had a slight lead at the half way point. In the sixth, Porter let Levy get in a little too close. Levy landed a left to the body and a right to the chin and Porter went down and stayed down for the count.

BOWDEN / SOBIESKI I suspected this was a fight to give LeeLee some rounds and she would finish it when she wanted. Apparently that is what happened. This was much like the previous fight. After a rough first round, Bowden chose to dance around while Sobieski stalked. Towards the end of the fifth round, Sobieski had seen enough and rocked Bowden towards the end of the round. Sobieski ended the fight early in the sixth, a left hook and s straight right
ended Bowden’s night as she was counted out,

HARMON / DECKER While Decker was somewhat distracted by Bundchen at the announcer’s table, she also had trouble with Harmon’s counterpunching. Harmon had the lead at the end of three. Decker came on strong in the fourth and hammered Harmon of the fourth, however Harmon managed to survive the round. She did not survive the fifth as a left jab and overhand right left her out cold on the canvas

PALLETT / GRAHAM Neither seemed to have a clear strategy. They both alternated being aggressive and the defensive. Although they were even at the end of six, I thought the Pallett had the better of the counterpunching. In the seventh, Graham landed a big right and then simply battered Pallett to the canvas where she stay and the ten count passed her by

FLANAGAN / DENNINGS For those who like a pair of fighters who just stand in and bang away, this was their kind of bout. Nothing fancy, no impressive movement but a lot of hard punching. Neither had a big lead in rounds as they were always tied at the end of a even round. They were even at the end of six. Dennings took the lead by winning the seventh. Not only could she not take a big lead by winning the eighth, she didn’t even finish the round. A right hook dropped Dennings. She was able to get to her feet for the mandatory count. Then, Flanagan went on a rampage, pounding Dennings until until the referee stopped the bout

SPIRIDAKOS / PARK Park got off to a good start taking the first two rounds. Spiridakos came back to win rounds three and four hurting Park in the fourth. Park surged back into a big lead by decking Tracey in the fifth and pounding her in in the sixth. Park had a three point lead with four rounds to go. Spiridakos evened the fight up again by winning round seven and flooring Park in the eighth. Park won round nine, but Spiridakos came back to take a blistering final round. The decision came back one of those hated draws. Both sides were ready to go extra rounds but the referee called a halt to the bout on urging from the ringside doctor. I think this result was a moral win for Spiridakos, if there is anything such as a moral win
.
