Kate Upton vs. Ali Landry
(Words: Front Street / Results: Lookout!)

BEFORE:
Upton all "It's my time now" in the pre-fight. "I'm the future of this division," the blonde beauty says over and over again, "And everyone knows it. Wilson, Landry, girls like that, the old guard, they're just opponents to get me where I'm going to go, to the top, to become the FCBA's dominant big girl."
Landry less sanguine about Upton's talent and future. "I've seen girls like Kate before," the brunette stunner says with a smile. "They're all about shoving veterans out of the way. Only thing is, they end up counting lights a few times, and, poof! They're gone. And we're still here."

ROUND ONE:
Similarity in styles immediately evident, as both fighters want to settle down into gun-platform stuff. They want ranged warfare, and they get it, both working their long left jabs, using them as solid poke to set up power rights. Not a ton of foot movement. More like a slow turn as both girls slide and dip, moving away from power, maintaining a consistent range and keeping up a consistent rate of fire. As the round goes on, Ali gets into rhythm. The veteran starts timing Upton, slipping her punches and giving her hard receipts that snap her head back and slow her offensive. The blonde begins covering up more and more as Landry starts to get off lusty. By the final seconds, Ali banging away, backing Kate up, touching her up. The bell sees the brunette smiling with a 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:
Back to work at range, and, again, Ali having the better of things. The veteran brunette very slick with her movement. She's always exactly where she wants to be and she's got Kate wrong-footed, short, late. Landry getting more and more on the punches as the round goes on, committing, planting the foot, backing the blonde up, snapping her head back. Midway through the round, BOOM! Kate drops in a perfect right-hand counter, and the complexion of the round changes completely. Ali's steppin' in fence post holes and Upton is all in, pouring fire at the dazed brunette, battering her back into the ropes and having at her. Upton's firing with both hands from all angles. She's ripping body, bashing leather against Landry's high guard upstairs. Referee looking in closely several times, but Ali hanging on, jabbing back, doing enough to keep him at bay to the bell. Different expression on the brunette's face this time. The fight's even at 19 and Ali's plenty unsteady on her way back to the corner.

ROUND THREE: Kate wants to consolidate, wants to get big on Landry. The blonde comes out walking forward behind her left, looking to test Landry's legs with right hands. Ali, however, able to hold her canvas and fire back. The result is a completely different set of terms than we had in the first two rounds. No more shelling at range. No more turning. No more boxing. What we have now is a brawl, the two beauties at close quarters stepping into their punches, banging body, hooking the head, tying up, shoving, shouldering. Both fighters prove plenty sturdy, to no one's surprise. Both land nasty stuff that backs the other up a step. But, both come right back forward for more of the grinding, thumping action, neither willing to give any ground or any quarter. It's a near run thing. Ali stabilizes her front, but Upton ekes out the points and leads 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:
More bump and grind. It's a war of attrition now, as the fighters are clearly seeking to reduce their rivals. Upton wants to impose will with her power, but Ali too slick and too sturdy. The brunette responds to every hard right hand with one of her own, steps back in every time Kate shoulders her off, shoves the blonde away every time she clinches. And, all of this just makes Kate more determined to overpower the brunette. And, so it is that, for three minutes, they go back and forth, reefing hard right hands at one another, digging with hooks to exposed body, pounding, thumping, grinding, whacking leather against flesh. Both bodies are pinking up now, both faces puffing a bit. And neither fighter willing to take a backward step. It's desperate stuff, stopped not by the bell, but by the referee shoving between the fighters after the bell and ordering them to their corners. Another near run thing, this time to Landry. And we're all even at 38.

ROUND FIVE:
Ali begins to win the war. Landry, with all her experience, is very slick inside, and she's begun to create openings in Kate's defenses, begun to find spots for uppercuts and short hooks, begun to pick the blonde up, back her up, hurt her. Upton game, firing right back, determined to wear Ali down, but Landry has the advantage, and she's gaining ground as the round goes on. Until. BOOM! This time it's an overhand right and it sends Landry stumbling, almost falling to her knees. It's not set up by anything. It's just thrown and finds the target, landing just about perfectly. Most fighters wouldn't just be down after a punch like that, they'd be out. But, Landry manages to stay on her feet. Of course, that also means she's eligible for a ferocious beating, and that's exactly what she gets for the remaining minute of the round. Kate is all over her, all in, firing away lusty, battering Landry into and against the ropes. Again, the referee is on alert, seemingly ready to leap in at any second, but, again, Ali keeps him at bay. She does not keep Kate at bay. Upton does what she wants, absolutely torching Landry to the bell, gaining the fifth wide and grabbing the lead 48-47.

ROUND SIX:
Again, Kate looks to consolidate, and, this time, she has plenty of success. Landry scuffed and still unsure of her legs, and Upton takes full advantage. She gets big in a big way, walking through Landry's punches, punches lacking their usual power due to her leg condition, drives her backward, sets her up for big right hands, and drops them, one after another, onto the buzzed brunette. Ali fights gamely. She resists at every turn, making Kate pay a price for each inch of canvas, but Upton grabs each one, forces Ali backward, gets her against the ropes, and simply piles on the punishment. A brutal barrage wobbles Ali, and then another sends her crumpling to the canvas! Landry is down on her belly as the count begins, and that's exactly where she is as it passes her by! The winner by KO6, in brutal fashion, is Kate Upton!

AFTER:
Upton nonchalant in the post-fight. "I told you all what would happen. The old guard had their day, but that day is over. It's a new era now, my era, my time. I'm the future, and they're the past. And, no, they don't believe that yet, but, they're starting to. First Wilson. Now Landry. And they're all starting to get nervous. They're starting to wonder. Is she really that good? Is this the girl who's going to finally elbow us aside? Yes, I am. And, yes I am."
