BBU SUGABABES BOXING SHOW FROM LIVERPOOL

BEFORE: It's the rubber match of the Sugababes War and things couldn't be more equal when it comes to Mutya Buena and Heidi Range who both seek entering the divisional elite after some setbacks in the past months. Heidi's been touted as a top prospect ever since she joined BBU almost four years ago but suffered a terrible time against Jorgie Porter that dropped her down the order while Mutya was shockingly handed her maiden defeat by Mollie King last March which removed her from the flyweight title picture on the spot. Both girls have a lot to prove then and promised to destroy each other in the ring; they've been on the band together for several years before and allthough Mutya was labelled as the leader at the time, Heidi never accepted playing second fiddle and got rid of Keisha Buchanan once Mutya left the line-up to be replaced by Amelle Berrabah.
The behind the scene catfights between Mutya and Heidi received a cult following back in the day and Mutya threatens to expose how she repeatedly yanked the blonde around various tour meetings to claim undisputed leadership however now she has the chance to beat Heidi up in public for the first time and return into immediate spotlight at her arch nemesis' expense. One can't buy that kind of publicity and both singers realize that extremely well.
Mutya Buena wears a red bikini set with golden stripes and red gloves. Heidi Range wears a black bikini top with white trim, black hip-huggers and golden gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Since the event's held in downtown Merseyside, Heidi gets a huge cheer at the expense of her London born foe and the blonde does everything she can to latch onto an early advantage jabbing furiously to the body and forcing Mutya backwards with a couple of drilling shots. The precision doesn't match the intensity though and Buena's able to escape into mid distance before working over the top to smack the blonde's cheeks. But that's not enough to stop Range in her tracks and more drilling hooks to the midsection eventually send Mutya onto the ropes where she soaks up more solid punishment and has to clinch the blonde late in the round much to the crowd's dismay.
Round 2:
More aggressive jabbing from Heidi who keeps picking Mutya off through the middle and now snaps her head back repeatedly as the brunette struggles to embrace the close range heat. The crowd roars with every quick snap and another escape follows but only for few seconds as Heidi drills more accurate shots to the ribcage and finds her stride down the stretch to stun Buena in the middle of the ring before just rocking her onto the turnbuckle in painful spasms. The body assault seems to have taken it's toll on the brunette already and she was never exposed to such a barrage before even in the Mollie King disaster. Heidi keeps the pressure up and settles into the midriff pounding to pull away clear at the end of the second round.
Round 3:
Mutya looks puzzled by the blonde's aggressive antics but perhaps that King defeat still lingers on her mind as she gets whacked over the top for a change and wobbles to the ropes with arms dropped, she fails to raise 'em in time and meets a crunching hook on the jaw that makes her scream and sends her black locks into frantic circles. She manages to cover up as she bounces off the ropes but Range simply creams her around the elbows instead and lands heavy leather on the liver area that Mutya can only halt BY TAKING A KNEE before the two minute mark. Heidi refuses to let go and seemingly wants to kick the stricken brunette in the face which earns her a quick shove from the ref but the Liverpool crowd goes bonkers and demands immediate stoppage! Buena's up on her feet at six though and looks like she perhaps did this on purpose as she escapes further punishment along the ropes and lets the blonde wear herself out in fruitless chase which doesn't really change the general reception of this fight though.
Round 4:
Heidi comes crashing down on the brunette who was basically stranded in the middle of the ring but the hooking combo aimed at the temples goes awfully wrong and enables Mutya to rip into the blonde's guts to silence the Echo Arena on the spot as the furious barrage leaves Range gasping for air and wobbling back on her heels... Here comes Buena with a series of uppercuts to dismantle the guard and rock the blonde's head before bumping her off into the ropes and hassling with more overhand assault... Heidi ducks & weaves most of the efforts but loses out in a heated close range duell and eats a whooping combo in the final seconds as Mutya sinks her on soft knees and adds a late hook on the temple to almost topple her over as the Lioness coach yells at the ref the punch was thrown after the bell already but that's only wishful thinking from the Merseyside's faithful.
Round 5:
Heidi was dangerously rocked in the previous round but drives in on the body again anyway and tries to outmuscle Mutya in close range; she lacks the power though and the brunette adds more speed and agility into her performance and bumps the blonde off after a bruising struggle that Range needs to embrace with some heavy gasps... Mutya jumps at her with a furious one-two and smacks the cheeks into few lumps; batters her onto the ropes afterwards as the crowd demands their favorite to respond right back in futile efforts. All Buena in the latter part of the round; she switches onto the body and keeps the blonde sagging on her heels and unable to stretch her elbows anymore. An uppercut effort doesn't slice the guard and adds some angry yelps to Buena's attire however she still pummels through on the navel and leaves her rival coughing out the mouth guard in visible pain.
Round 6:
It's Heidi's time to avoid the action and the blonde's really losing her breath quickly with Mutya slicing her midriff one punch after another and shoving her onto the turnbuckle come the minute mark. The blonde can only clinch herself into survival and that meets little sympathy from the fellow bandmate who yells out in anger as she tries to pull her left arm out of the block and scythes Range across the face but is forced into almost headbutting her as the ref acts very slowly and allows the Merseyside favorite to waste some time here. The crowd doesn't mind this either as Heidi needs to catch her breath but on the other hand she can't possibly expect to win this bout by just wrestling the brunette in the corner for the remaining four rounds!
Round 7:
Mutya enforces a close range brawl as Heidi sags on heavy knees and doesn't have the strenght in her to avoid the pouncing anymore. Over the top onslaught catches her on the jaw repeatedly in the opening minute and drives back to the ropes where Mutya drills a classic liver shot to bend the blonde to the side and prevent her from clinching her again. All Buena from there on; she rips into the blonde's ribcage and makes her cry out her pains before shifting upstairs and landing cruel hooks on the face to leave more bruises and lumps on the othherwise pretty blonde. Heidi bellows out onto the ropes and spits out her guard in pure gamesmanship mode however that bothers Buena little as she smacks her across the mouth TO SEND RANGE FACE-FIRST ONTO THE CANVAS and make her pay for the delay effort... Ref has to start the count and picks the mouthguard from the boards to indicate he won't allow it again yet he was better off giving the Liverpool lass a warning and now the crowd begs for the clock to halt the round and save Range from a complete disaster... The blonde's up at nine but looking shattered now with several lumps marking her face. She nods back to the ref who lectures her about the intentional move and the clock wasn't stopped during his tirade so it expired before Buena can resume her punishment and she's mad as a hatter about it!
Round 8:
Heidi's really slow to rise for the eight and the clock can't save her anymore as Mutya whips her across the mouth seconds after the start and just keeps jabbing along to snap the blonde's head back left, right & center. Range is rooted to the spot and doesn't answer the barrage at all, she drops her arms after taking a double whammy on the temples and closes her eyes with a quiet whimper to fall into one last driving hook on the nose THAT SENDS HER SPAWLING ACROSS THE CANVAS moments later... It's a heavy knockout and the blonde remains spread eagle to rise no more... the entire Echo Arena begins to throw beer cans onto the ring but it matters little to the victorious brunette! KO8 Mutya Buena!!!
AFTER: Looks like the Mollie King result was just a random hiccup as Buena starts teasing the crowd to throw more cans at her and she's quickly joined by Siobhan Donaghy and a banged up Keisha Buchanan to celebrate the old team's deserved success! "The impostors are beaten!", they shot to both Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen who are forced to pick a wrecked Heidi from the canvas and escort her back to their corner. That's a bold call from Keisha in particular who shares the Lioness gym with the fallen blonde and coach Gina Wild apparently isn't best pleased about all this and promises extra drill in the upcoming weeks to keep her Sugababe within the profound range. "It's not like Gina will order me to fight Mikie Hara!", Keisha laughs off the bonus prospects but Amelle Berrabah sends her a massive death stare and promises to get even with her just like Jade Ewen did tonight.
Suddenly a catfighting scuffle cuts the post-event ceremony as Amelle and Keisha jump at each other leaving Heidi in Jade's embrace and Siobhan and Mutya cheering for Buchanan in the opposite corner. A furious hair pulling and slapping struggle is eventually halted by the security yet Amelle kicks herself out of their embrace and slaps Keisha across the face before driving a knee up her crotch. This gets Mutya really onto it and she tries to shove the security guys back and simply punch Amelle out of the arena but the ref tackles her to the canvas and asks for immediate help as pandemonium breaks loose all around the ring to curtain the Sugababes Boxing Show in a truly bizzare and wrecking ball fashion... it seems like even tonight's event won't settle the long standing feud between the old team and the new girls and we haven't heard the last of the Sugababes just yet!
Final result: Mutya Buena def. Heidi Range KO8.
