Elisabetta Canalis versus Jennifer Carpenter
(Latin Union, 0-2 vs Independent, 3-6-1, 3 KO)
Results: Lookout! / Story: Vassago

BEFORE: "The Asylum experience only made me stronger! A lot of people questioned my skill and determination but I'm really desperate to prove myself in the big league and the victories are just a matter of time!", Elisabetta Canalis says before the fight addressing some doubts whether she's good enough to make the PPV grade following defeats to Anna Torv and Blake Lively in her short SSB career to date.

Meanwhile Jennifer Carpenter continues her comeback that resulted in securing her fourth fight of the season already and that's more than she had over the past three years before 2015. She targets nothing else but a complete destruction of the Italian model tonight and underlines he sudden rash of exposure doesn't come from a single challenge courtesy of Odette Yustman back in February: "It's not like I should be thankful to Odette and that lioness bunch for giving me the opportunity. I could have phoned myself into the Asylum like that Canalis creature did but all my subsequent appearances, Tonkin and Lively come from the fact I ALMOST knocked Odette out! I really should have won that fight and if I wasn't so pressed to make that opportunity count, then Odette would never brag about some title shots she allegedly missed! Some girls can always find work and will always look good out there even if they lose. But for free agents like me, it's about survival. One bad loss and you're out whereas the managed veterans can fistpump themselves into the Main Event regardless what they do in the ring. I treat every fight as the last one. Therefore I HAVE to give my 100% every single time in order to keep the phone ringing! Well, that's bad news for Canalis since I'll most likely knock her head off but who cares? I'll accept KO of the Night bonus and give everyone a free kiss if they want!"

Elisabetta Canalis wears a dark blue bikini top, white knickers and black gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Jennifer Carpenter wears a red basque top, black knickers and red gloves. Long brown hair tied in a braid. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Both women come out swinging and immediately start to head hunt each other where Canalis proves more determined and effective and clips the American with a couple of heavy efforts avoiding the response in the proccess. Carpenter tries to change her stance and ignite some pace into it but eats another flying hook and backs out of the exchange which in turn moves the Italian into a quick pursuit. She fails to land a noteworthy punch though and has to slow down but that gives Jennifer time to regroup and mount a late charge again, this time she clips Elisabetta's temple but misses a follow up cross and gets whacked with a right hand from the back foot which settles the opening round in the model's favor.

Round 2:
Another feisty start to the round has both women snapping each other's heads as Jennifer finally gets stuck into her rival's cheeks and lands the better punches this time forcing the Italian on the back foot. Elisabetta struggles to strike from behind the guard and allows the American to send plenty of leather; even if the precision is rather dismal, the sheer ammount of her efforts forces Canalis into wide circles but just short of safety and Carpenter keeps landing those single hands over the top to trigger a more aggressive approach from her opponent. Elisabetta leans on the front leg and tries to pierce the guard but gets countered to the body as for the first time tonight one of the two boxers decides to change the head hunting tactics and it drives the Italian into the corner but time expires before Carpenter can work on her there.

Round 3:
More high swinging on display and this time Canalis cracks a heavy jab on her rival's nose to bend Jennifer into an earmuff struggle; she powers through between the mitts afterwards and bumps the American into the ropes and for the first time Jennifer applies the clinching tactics to slow the model down. Elisabetta barks some words in Italian and shoves the actress against the turnbuckle but the following strikes bounce off the guard and Jennifer does exceptionally well to punch herself out of the hole as she digs some leather into the toned ribs and reels Canalis back to center of the ring which the crowd applauds in numbers. However she fails to sign off the good work with a proper onslaught and wobbles into a cracking right hand that nails her on the nose and sends back towards the corner again, the clock comes to her rescue and Canalis has to be dragged away by the ref and clearly upset about it!

Round 4:
Once again there's minimal body attack and both women are keen to snap some hair around their necks as Jennifer flies in with a massive cross and splits the model's gloves to stun her in the middle of the ring before driving a heavy uppercut on the jaw and make Canalis wince in pain. She adds more facial jabs from close range and finds another uppercut to throw her rival on the heels and Elisabetta struggles to respond, misses a hooking approach and eats a heavy left cross on the eye that sends her tripping back to the ropes. Carpenter hassles her down and prevents from a swift escape by jabbing into the ribs and the Italian's moans gets louder and louder as she gets trapped on the ropes and fails to even clinch the actress; instead she has to soak up some fine midriff punishment in the final minute and almost stumbles down on her knees once the round is over.

Round 5:
Jennifer's much quicker across the canvas now and resumes the hitherto rare body attack to force the Italian into a low cover. However it's very ineffective and the American loops more bruising jabs into the liver area and roots Canalis to the spot, avoids a slow and predictable head assault and cracks one on the navel to bend Elisabetta bumping into her shoulder with another loud gasp. Jennifer wraps her left arms around the model's elbow and starts pounding into the stomach which only increases the painful yelps but there's no stopping that onslaught as Elisabetta fails to break free and doesn't get any help from the ref either. Carpenter drills the Italian's guts and almost drags her into the ropes where she finally lets go of the elbow hold and slams a heavy cross on the mouth that shuts the model's eyes and only the bell prevents a looming knockdown as Canalis looks to be running on borrowed time now.

Round 6:
The repeated body strikes have done their job and Elisabetta looks in considerable pain as she rises for the six and doesn't have the strenght in her to prevent a heavy American barrage with Jennifer all over her from the opening second and thumping unanswered leather left, right and center. Canalis avoids the initial charge but has nothing to prevent more looping jabs on the liver area and sinks deeper and deeper on her knees until Carpenter simply has to fire the mercy shot and she does, another piercing hook on the liver DROPS THE ITALIAN DOWN ON HER KNEES with a loud cry and she can only bend her head against the canvas and hug the burning guts to make the count a foregone conclusion! KO6 Jennifer Carpenter!!!

AFTER: This was a pleasing fight between two women who decided to land all their shots on the head early but the midsection switch eventually handed the decisive advantage to the American actress who simply demolished the Italian's liver area and with a little luck, could have knocked her out much sooner. It's another valuable lesson for Elisabetta who drops 0 for 3 in SSB competition but one has to wonder where Jennifer Carpenter would be right now if she stayed so active over the course of her career? She really doesn't look all that inferior to Odette Yustman and a loss to Blake Lively is no reason to be ashamed of. After going 2 for 4 in 2015 there's a strong possibility Carpenter remains in hot demand during the foreseeable future.

Final result: Jennifer Carpenter def. Elisabetta Canalis KO6.
