BEFORE:

"Front Street has a new flyweight," Lea says, feigning a yawn. "And, like all the others, THIS one can't fight or act, either. AND, she's ugly. Just like the rest of them. So, it won't hurt her appearance much when I bust up her face."

"This girl," says Jane with a shake of the head. "She thinks she's special. Well, you know what? She's right. Because she's the only girl in the world who has an appointment for a beatdown at the hands of Jane Levy tonight."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Gives You Hell' by The All-American Rejects, and here comes the lovely Lea Michele!"

Tess: "And, look at this, Mac, Lea has TWO FCBA wins..."

McCarthy: "Against Appleby and ELLEN PAGE...and Page WENT THE DISTANCE with her. And she ALSO couldn't last a round with SEYFRIED, who flunked out of the Front Street flyweight division, which is like flunking kindergarten..."

Cassie: "Says the woman who was almost held back for an inability to make finger turkeys..."

McCarthy: "THE SCISSORS THEY GAVE ME WERE BLUNT! AND SHUT UP, SCABBO!"

O'Dell(sighing): "And, as always, it promises to be a LONG night. Michele down the aisle and into the ring. Helped off with the robe to reveal the pink two-piece she likes, and that's 'Pleasant Nightmare' by Alih Jey you hear, and that can only mean that 'The Marin County Marauder', Jane Levy, is on her way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "And, fans, Levy is simply the latest flyweight who will fail at Front Street, just like Lavigne, Spears, Seyfried, and Graham, the not-so-fantastic four!"

Cassie: "Um. Graham is still on the roster, and, in fact, she's on the CARD tonight..."

McCarthy: "Just a matter of time."

O'Dell: "Levy into the ring. Helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that peach bikini she likes, and the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess favors Jane. Mac?"

McCarthy: "This is a tough one. How do you pick a winner when both fighters have ZERO talent? Levy, I guess."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess."

O'Dell: "Here we go. Michele on the move early. She's popping out that left hand, circling, bouncing, wants space. This is not the Lea we saw in the fight against Page...more like the one we saw against Graham and Hale, sound and pretty slick..."

Cassie: "No surprise, because she's not going to try to get big on Levy. Not if she wants to end this fight on her feet."

O'Dell: "Instead, Lea working the left, moving well, creating space with both hands and feet. Levy with the gloves high, bobbing the head, working forward, testing Michele's defenses..."

McCarthy: "Which are pretty good at the moment. Lea doing a lot of legging, but she's not just running. She's getting her feet set and landing solid stuff."

O'Dell: "That she is. Levy not getting off much right now. Looks to be feeling out Lea a little bit, looking for her openings, probing, but not throwing a lot of leather. Final seconds of the first. Lea snapping out the jab, bouncing in the center of the ring to the bell. Michele claims the first."

Tess: "And looks plenty pleased with herself on the way back to the corner."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round begins with more of the same from Lea. Using those legs. Snapping out left hands. She's managing her position very well, stopping to pop only when she has room to move afterward..."

Cassie: "This is good stuff from Lea, and not really a surprise. She's athletic and she's shown she can box. The issue's been handling power."

O'Dell: "Levy stepping up the pressure a bit more this round. She's busier in counter, too, getting off in response to Lea's flurries. Michele still fighting lead, but Jane starting to settle in now."

Tess: "And she's starting to find cracks in the defenses, too, slipping past the jab and getting some work done inside."

O'Dell: "Michele holding her own in those exchanges and keeping them brief, always keeping some open canvas in her back pocket, making sure she can retreat when she wants to, forcing Jane to keep up the pursuit. Jane more than willing to do that right to the bell. There it is and the second is close, but Lea."

McCarthy: "20-18 for Michele."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Into the third now, and Michele's got terms she likes and she's continuing to enforce them. Lea legging, jabbing, bouncing on her toes, circling, brining all that athleticism to bear..."

Cassie: "But Levy, as we've mentioned, is plenty athletic herself, a former college soccer player. She has great feet, and she's using them to match footwork and square Lea."

O'Dell: "Definitely some cat and mouse going on right now, and the mouse is plenty slick. Lea showing some serious ring awareness for a girl with fewer than a dozen fights. Knows where she is at all times, and she's staying away from the ropes, staying away from any traps Levy might be trying to set."

McCarthy: "I've got to admit, I'm impressed with the Michele kid. She's got a good plan in place, and she's executing it."

O'Dell: "But Levy competing well on these terms. As Cassie pointed out, she's getting square more often here in the third, avoiding the jab and getting off at mid-range, scoring from there and in counter when Lea gets off first. Michele keeping the exchanges short, always moving, always making Levy reset. Jane, however, doing that effectively creating the best two-way round of the fight. There's the bell. Close again. Levy."

Tess: "And Jane avoids the dreaded 30-27 hole, but still trails 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth now and Lea continuing to play fox to Levy's hound..."

McCarthy: "'Fox and hound', that was every time I fought Campbell. One stone fox and one DOG..."

Cassie: "(cough) Hall of Fame (cough)..."

McCarthy: "You just WAIT, Scabbo. Wait to see what I do in my COMEBACK. They'll HAVE to put me in the Hall of Fame!"

O'Dell(sighing): "Meanwhile, back in the ring, that subtle adjustment Levy made last round, getting off at mid-range rather than trying to close, continuing to serve her well. She's slipping the jab, bouncing forward, then letting the leather go in combination..."

McCarthy: "It's a slight adjustment, but it's big because it gives Levy a tiny bit of time, time she'd be using moving forward, that she can use to get her hands going."

O'Dell: "And that's exactly how she's using it, and she's disrupting Lea some with it. Michele being taken out of rhythm, not sure when to move, either getting out of there too quickly or not quickly enough, and Jane taking advantage of that hesitancy to take control of the round. Redhead rolling, forcing one exchange after another on her terms and in firm control at the bell."

Tess: "And, we're even at 38 after four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "We're into the fifth now and Michele back on her horse. Lea doing some serious legging right now, all motion all the time, popping the jab, staying on her toes, keeping the feet moving..."

McCarthy: "Not stopping at all, meaning she doesn't have to decide when to get moving again. Not a bad adjustment."

O'Dell: "Working fine at the moment, no question of that. Levy having to work hard to match footwork, not able to get to the spots she wants and get off. Lea not committing on much, not really putting punches together, but she's scoring with her jab..."

Cassie: "And that's more than Jane's doing. Levy's having tro spend all her time moving, and that's not leaving any for punching."

O'Dell: "Michele circling, reversing, moving left and right, forward and back. Jane keeping the hands up, working the feet, trying to get in good punching position, but Lea making that almost impossible. Final seconds ticking away in the fifth, and there's the bell. Neither fighter scored a lot, but Lea scored more."

Tess: "And she's back on top 48-47 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with more hit and run from Lea. Michele putting those dancer's legs on full display right now, willing to fight off her back foot if that's what's necessary to make Levy chase."

McCarthy: "And Michele becoming more effective with this now. Last round, it was mainly a defensive tactic, but now she's scoring and forcing Levy to hold fire because she can't get into punching position."

O'Dell: "And Lea's getting right back into that rhythm that Jane broke up earlier. The redhead continuing to work. She's got the hands high, matching footwork, looking to get to middle distances and get off, but not having much luck..."

Tess: "RIGHT HAND AND MICHELE'S HURT!"

O'Dell: "Lea wobbled, stumbles backward, covers up. Levy pouring forward, letting the hands go and DOWN GOES LEA!"

Cassie: "No one big punch in that flurry, but a lot of good ones sent Lea to her hands and knees."

O'Dell: "Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Lea to her feet. Going to take the mandatory and the referee's going to waive Levy forward. Jane right after the brunette, squaring her up, backing her up with hard leather but there's the bell!"

Tess: "The brunette survives, but Levy now on the lead 57-56."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh begins with Levy loaded for bear. Jane walking forward behind the left now, backing up Michele, who doesn't have the legs to do any dancing at the moment. Lea keeping the hands high, giving ground, countering at every opportunity, making Levy pay a price for her offense..."

Cassie: "Jane walking through it. She's got one thing on her mind right now and that's finishing..."

O'Dell: "Levy using the left upstairs and hooking off it, both head and body, taking more and more canvas. Lea using a slide step, rotating, trying to stay off the ropes and DOWN SHE GOES!"

Tess: "Right hook off the left, landed that pretty clean..."

O'Dell: "Did, indeed, and sent Michele crashing to her right side. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Lea not moving at all. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's over, and your winner by KO7 is 'The Marin County Marauder', Jane Levy!"

McCarthy: "And check the replay on this and you'll see what happened. Michele sliding left, away from Jane's power. Gets stopped with the left jab to the OUTSIDE of her chin...and BAM! Before she can get moving, there's the right hookthat turns out the lights."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Jane Levy, and, Jane, she used a lot of movement in there tonight..."

Jane: "Oh, she can dance, no question about it. But, I'm used to dealing with that. Try chasing Graham around a ring. I've played ninety minutes of soccer and not covered as much ground as I did in nine minutes of sparring with Kat."

Tess: "When you finally got her, though, you didn't waste any time finishing..."

Jane: "That's one thing we emphasize at Front Street, finishing. You get opportunities to do that in fights, and if you don't take advantage, a lot of times, you end up watching the other girl get her hand raised. Lea's hand wasn't getting raised tonight."
