BEFORE:

"You know, I don't understand it," Erika says with a shake of the head. "I'm all over TV. I'm doing movies. I've got another big series coming next season. And, two fights in five years? Really? When girls who have a tenth of my resume and a twentieth of my looks have management and get regular work? This has to stop, and I'm going to start that process by knocking out Dennings tonight!"

"She's got nothing to lose," Kat says with a nod, "So, obviously, she's dangerous. But, you know what? I'm coming off a loss in a six-girl division with two former champions, Pink and her lifetime contract and 'The Next Big Thing'. I've got a LOT to lose, and, trust me, that makes ME pretty dangerous, too."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that IS Ringside..."

McCarthy: "WHAT is?"

O'Dell: "What you're HEARING is..."

McCarthy: "You can't HEAR ringside! It's a PLACE!"

O'Dell: "No, the song..."

McCarthy: "The name of the SONG is 'Ringside'? Then, why are they singing about being sorry?"

O'Dell: "No, the song is BY Ringside!"

McCarthy: "The song is...I don't UNDERSTAND!"

O'Dell: "PLEASE ACTUALLY USE THE TABLET AVRIL GIVES YOU FOR SOMETHING BESIDE A MIRROR TO CHECK YOUR MAKEUP IN ONCE IN A WHILE!"

McCarthy: "Now, CALM DOWN, Jenny..."

O'Dell: "Yep. Just pinched myself to make sure, and this is really happening. Ok. Let's try this again. The SONG you are hearing is 'Tired of Being Sorry' and the GROUP singing said song is called 'Ringside'..."

McCarthy: "Why didn't you SAY so?"

Tess: "No jury in the world would convict you, Jenny O. Just saying..."

O'Dell(sighing): "AND, already entering the ring is the star of that video, the lovely Erika Christensen..."

McCarthy: "Who's a typical Front Street opponent. ONE FCBA win!"

O'Dell: "Erika helped off with the robe to reveal a navy blue number that accentuates quite a few curves, and speaking of curves, that's 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' by Scissor Sisters pounding through the arena, and that can only mean that Kat 'The Rack' Dennings is on her way to the ring..."

Cassie: "Here's the part where Mac says Kat will never amount to anything because she's trained by Neve Campbell..."

McCarthy: "Well, SHE WON'T!"

O'Dell: "Just so my agent knows, I'm going to demand a BIG raise in the next contract negotiations. Dennings into the ring. Helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd appreciating that black bikini she's wearing and the aforementioned curves. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess favors Kat. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Like I said, Dennings won't amount to anything, but even SHE can win this one."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell, and any mystery about how this is going to go disappears immediately as the two fighters meet in the center of the ring and go to work shoulder to shoulder..."

Cassie: "No surprise to anyone if you've seen these two fight. Dennings likes these terms, and if you want to fight on them, she's going to be more than happy to oblige..."

O'Dell: "And, Christensen, who's also a big bantam, favors this kind of action as well. She likes to get in and test a girl's strength, and with the size she has for the weight, it's a good strategy. Both girls working hard already, using the shoulders, hooking head and body. Lots of meat being tenderized..."

McCarthy: "Typical cavewoman Neve Campbell stuff. No art. No skill. Just mindless slugging..."

O'Dell: "I'm going to disagree on the skill, Mac, plenty on display in this kind of combat as the girls use shoulders and foot and head movement to create angles and openings for punches. Both having success doing that, working both head and body as we head down the stretch. Plenty of hard leather landing right to the bell. Good two-way round. Erika a bit more effective."

Tess: "And Christensen off to the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round underway and we're right back in the phone booth. Nothing subtle about any of this as Christensen and Dennings have at it in close quarters..."

Cassie: "And, fans, watch how the fighters are using their shoulders. Watch how Kat dips hers, then leverages up, opening Erika's body and unbalancing her. Dennings banging hooks into those openings."

O'Dell: "Christensen responding in kind, working body, climbing the ladder, then going back down. Dennings spending more time upstairs this round, looking to back Erika up, but Christensen plenty sturdy, holding her ground and firing back."

Tess: "Just a meat grinder in there right now, Jenny. Girls just having at it."

O'Dell: "No question about it. Neither giving any quarter or asking for any. It's all about trying to impose will and not allowing the other fighter to do same. Dennings a good right hand that backed Erika up half a step and there's the bell. Another good, two-way round, this one to Kat."

McCarthy: "19-19 after two. And, for the record, I'd have stopped either of these girls by now."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Right back shoulder to shoulder to begin the third. Both fighters active in there, banging away, twisting those shoulders to get power into the punches. Dennings working mostly upstairs right now, while Erika's concentrating on body..."

McCarthy: "Christensen leveraging Dennings with the shoulders, getting underneath despite being taller, straightening Kat up to open up the body."

O'Dell: "No question Erika's getting lower pad level right now, and she's making it work, landing solid and with accuracy, making Kat do some missing by ducking the Dennings hooks."

Cassie: "Level becoming an issue for Dennings this round. Erika's changed it, going into a half crouch, and it's making a difference."

O'Dell: "Indeed it is. Christensen backs Dennings up with a pair of uppercuts to the head, then goes right back body. Kat taking a lot of leather this round and not able to land very much in return. Christensen turning on the jets down the stretch, backs Kat up with another right uppie and lands a good left hook at the bell! Christensen with a stare at Dennings before turning back to her corner. Erika wide in the third."

Tess: "And she's up 29-28 now."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins like the third ended and like all the other rounds have begun, with the fighters in close, pressuring, working hard. Erika still in that crouch, but Kat adjusting to it, now, getting her level down, not being levered by Christensen's shoulders as much..."

Cassie: "And, she's also doing what Neve Campbell told her between rounds. Front Street corner is right above us, and Neve walked around to the front of Kat's stool, crouched down to get eye level with her, and said one word, 'Body'."

O'Dell: "And body is where Kat's concentrating her attacks. She's working the abs, banging the ribs, hooking the lats, and Christensen is responding in kind. Erika plenty sturdy, holding her own in there, not getting backed up despite the pressure from Dennings..."

McCarthy: "This is this kid's fatal weakness. She's ok against girls she can bully like Frege, but when she gets in against a girl who can stand in front of her, like Flanagan, she's in trouble..."

Tess: "I seem to recall Charlotte Church being pretty sturdy..."

McCarthy: "Watch and see, Walmart. Watch and see."

O'Dell: "What we're watching and seeing is more good, two-way stuff. Both fighters scoring well, both working body hard, both getting work done. Neither able to take control here despite the efforts of both. Final seconds ticking away now and there's the bell. Good round. Dennings."

Tess: "And we're even again at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth round underway and things getting, shall we say, grueling in there. Both fighters again want to go shoulder to shoulder, both dipping and ripping, using the shoulders to lever, opening up bodies to leather."

McCarthy: "And, they're both getting plenty of shoulder into those punches. Getting good rotation. These aren't just arm punches. They're landing with authority."

O'Dell: "No question about it, Mac. You can hear leather banging meat from where we're sitting, and, I'm betting you can hear it up in the top row, too. This is becoming a war of attrition as neither fighter willing to give any ground to the other. Both want to stand in there and trade..."

Cassie: "Just the kind of fight both of these girls like."

O'Dell: "And both liking it quite a bit here in round five. Some serious body digging going on, as Erika and Kat both concentrate downstairs. You're seeing the occasional work up, just enough to keep things honest, but it's the midsection, the ribs, the flanks, those are the targets for tenderization from bell to bell. And that's the end of the fifth. Close one to Dennings."

Tess: "Kat up 48-47 now, at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Back to work in the sixth and back to the meat grinder. Both fighters determined to work inside, determined to work body, determined to make the other girl back up and back down. And, we're seeing almost exclusive body work from both fighters now, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Definitely an effort on both sides to break the will of the other fighter. If you back up now, try to get some space, whatever, you give the other girl just what she wants."

O'Dell: "And neither of these fighters is willing to do that. They're hanging in, taking beatings to the body, but giving as good as their getting in both cases. Lots of thumping of ribs and midsection. Both bodies pinking up quite a bit now..."

Tess: "No question all of this investment is having an effect, but neither girl is slowing down. In fact, the work rates are actually increasing..."

O'Dell: "That they are, and another area of the body now involved as Erika goes rack on Kat! Dennings responding in kind and it's getting VERY nasty in there. Final seconds ticking away in the sixth. There's the bell and a SERIOUS staredown! Ref in between the fighters, sending them to their corners. Erika's round as she crossed the Rubicon."

Cassie: "Fight's even at 57."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "We move into the seventh and right back to close quarters and we're definitely staying on the Roman side of the Rubicon, ladies, because the fighters are going rack at every opportunity..."

McCarthy: "No doubt about it. They're working to open each other up and banging bras any time they get an opening..."

O'Dell: "Dennings doing some serious digging to the ribs and midsection as well, and Erika responding in kind. Good left hook to the head from Christensen got Kat's attention and DENNINGS BLASTS ERIKA WITH A LEFT UPPERCUT! Christensen stumbles backward and nearly goes down and Kat's all in..."

Cassie: "Dennings getting off some heavy stuff, Jenny! Christensen in serious trouble here..."

O'Dell: "Erika trapped on the ropes, guard high, hanging on, getting shaken again and again by absolute BOMBS from Dennings, who's now changed targets and it going rack in a big way. Dennings hammering away bringing the guard down then NAILING Erika with a right to the head! Christensen wobbled but stays on her feet. Referee looking in, but the final seconds of the round tick away. There's the bell and Erika's still on her feet..."

Tess: "But looking a little worse for the wear and now trailing on the cards 67-66."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Into the eighth now and Dennings in seek and destroy mode. Erika still unsteady, can't hold canvas, and Kat taking full advantage, driving Christensen before her, working her over to the body, then going back upstairs. Christensen trying to fire back, but she's mostly covering up and backing up..."

Tess: "Clinical stuff from Kat. She's staying sound but being very aggressive..."

O'Dell: "Dennings with a good right hand that backs Erika up a step, lands a straight left and DROPS ERIKA WITH THE SHOVEL HOOK TO THE LIVER!"

McCarthy: "THAT WAS BELOW THE BELT! JUST LIKE CAMPBELL!"

O'Dell: "It was NOT below the belt, but it was plenty effective. Christensen down on her left side, curled up holding her midsection. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Christensen rolls to her hands and knees and drops to her right side! Eight. Nine. TEN! It's over! And your winner by KO8 is Kat 'The Rack' Dennings!"

Cassie: "Let's check the replay, and let's watch the final flurry. Here's the right to the head by Kat. Erika takes a step back. Kat steps forward behind a left jab and BAM! There's the shovel hook, well ABOVE the belt..."

McCarthy: "You're BLIND, Scabbo!"

Cassie: "Down goes Erika. Nobody's ever gotten up from Kat's shovel hook, and Christensen wasn't going to be the first."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kat Dennings, and things got awfully 'racky' late in this one, Kat..."

Kat(smiling): "Hey, I wasn't the first to 'go nuclear' and go after the missiles, if you will, but, you want to work there, we'll work there, and you won't like the results."

Tess: "What's next for you?"

Kat(shrugging): "Let's see what Wiz and Av have in mind. I'm game, whatever it is."
