BEFORE:

"Somebody asked me in the presser," says Lauren with a tiny smile, "If it's tough to go a year or more between fights. Well. Sure it is. But. There's a simple way to solve that problem. Go out and get some wins. And I'm all about problem solving tonight."

"What Lauren doesn't understand," says Chloe with a hint of her own smile, "Is that the problem she's trying to solve tonight isn't grade school math. It's more like the Riemann hypothesis. And Lauren's not going to be the one to get the Millennium Prize."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and..."

McCarthy: "What's the 'Rhyming Hypothesis'? Does that have something to do with finding a word that rhymes with 'orange'?"

O'Dell: "No, it does NOT...NEVERMIND!"

McCarthy: "I'm just asking a QUESTION! Calm down, rag doll!"

Tess: "Just three more fights, Jenny..."

Jenny: "Truck. Vodka me. Meanwhile, that song you hear is 'Green Eyed Lady' by Sugarloaf, and that can only mean that the green-eyed lady herself, Lauren German, is on her way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "Typical Front Street opponent. ZERO FCBA wins..."

Cassie: "And, here's where I point out that two of German's three losses came to Montgomery and Park, both of whom have ALSO beaten..."

McCarthy: "And here's where I point out that she also lost to Rambin, who's one loss away from being drummed out of her second stable. Oh, and SHUT UP, SCABBO!"

O'Dell: "German into the ring and helped off with the robe. Wearing that gray bikini we've seen before..."

McCarthy: "Sorange. Korange. Dorange. Florange...there's GOT to be..."

O'Dell: "And that's 'Uh Oh' you hear pounding through Asylum, and that means the singer of said song, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet is on her way to ringside..."

McCarthy: "Rorange. Torange. Vorange..."

Cassie: "Bennet has mostly lived up to that nickname. She's moved up very quickly, more quickly that most developing fighters..."

O'Dell: "Bennet into the ring and gets help with the robe from Jewel and Neve. Wearing that blue number she prefers and the crowd, from its reaction, likes it, too. Ladies about ready. Let's get some picks. Tess favors Chloe. Mac..."

McCarthy: "Porridge. Horidge..."

O'Dell: "MAC!"

McCarthy: "WHAT?"

O'Dell: "We're doing PICKS!"

McCarthy: "German has no wins. Bennet."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Bennet wasting no time getting after German. Chloe very aggressively forward. Lauren wants to jab for space, use the legs, but the brunette has other ideas. Chloe wants to crowd, bring the physical, and she has Lauren in retreat early."

Cassie: "We all know Front Street likes physical fighters, and there aren't many who fit that definition better than Bennet. She's as physical as just about any bantam in the FCBA."

O'Dell: "And she's putting that to German right now and LAUREN NEARLY GOES DOWN! Short right hand from Chloe and German stumbles into the ropes. The blonde quickly covers up and Chloe going to work, thumping away to the body, which has been put on sale by Lauren as she leans back into the ropes in a high guard..."

McCarthy: "Bennet trying to bunch German up and bring that guard down, but give Lauren credit, she's shipping it and keeping her hands up."

O'Dell: "Bennet working upstairs now, trying to bang through that guard and put a quick end to this thing. German hanging on, jabbing back in spots, stabilizing a bit as we come toward the bell. Five seconds. Lauren going to get through the first on her feet. There's the bell. Bennet in a big way."

Tess: "But still only up 10-9 on the cards."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round begins with Bennet wanting to close again. German showing more movement now. Circling right away from the brunette's power, snapping out the left hand, forcing Chloe to turn with. German back-stepping, popping forward, keeping that left in the brunette's face."

McCarthy: "Has to slow down the pursuit some way, and trying to punch for respect didn't get it done."

O'Dell: "This is working a bit better for Lauren. She's making Chloe work hard with the feet, turning her, not allowing her to square up. Bennet trying to get her own left hand established, looking to get it outside German, herd her in, but Lauren not allowing that..."

Cassie: "She's not, and that's important. She's staying outside Chloe's jab, forcing Bennet to keep turning."

O'Dell: "Lot of left hands being thrown right now, as neither woman is able to get many rights on target. German satisfied with the speed jab, satisfied with the points its scoring and the disrupting it's doing. Bennet unable to get much more home, because she can't get Lauren lined up. Lots of movement, but not a lot of action in the second. Bell. Close. German."

Tess: "And we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Into the third and we've settled in. German in a counter-clockwise rotation, circling right away from Bennet's right hand. Chloe turning with, looking to square and put punches together, but not having much success doing it. Lauren taking the air out of the ball here, Mac..."

McCarthy: "And it's a good idea. You get a fighter who gets rolling early, you need to do something to slow that down before you get run over."

O'Dell: "And German definitely slowing things down, managing Bennet with the jab and the movement, a slow, clockwise turn, always staying outside Chloe's jab. Bennet trying to figure the angles here and get some punches home square, but having to work hard to do it."

Cassie: "German boxing very well right now. She's getting more punches put together this round."

O'Dell: "Quick one-twos instead of just the jab. But all on the move. Everything on the move. Not planting the feet at all, keeping Chloe from getting off in combination. Bennet sticking with it. Not showing any frustration. Punching every time she's in a spot to do so and resisting what has to be the temptation to force the issue. Ten seconds to go in the third. Both girls jabbing to the bell. Another close one to Lauren."

Tess: "Who now leads 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with German back to moving and Bennet now coming forward. Chloe not having any more of this turning, she wants to crowd and bang. Lauren giving ground, trying to stay in open canvas, but Bennet using those good feet to cut and bring the blonde to battle."

Cassie: "Chloe's all done with 'tactical' and has decided to get physical..."

O'Dell: "Bennet banging body, hooking the ribs and thumping the midsection. German clinching, trying to force breaks, but Bennet shoving her off, going back to work and ROCKING Lauren with a right hook to the head! German's legs did a shimmy and Bennet going all in now, winging bombs at the buzzed blonde, who's covering up on the ropes!"

McCarthy: "German has to get off those ropes. She's getting POUNDED..."

O'Dell: "She is, indeed, and Bennet keeping her pinned down the stretch. Bennet going body to drop the guard then back upstairs. German firing back grimly, trying to slow Bennet down, but Chloe keeps coming right to the bell! Big round for Bennet, ladies..."

Tess: "Sure was, but only 10-9, meaning the fight's even at 38 through four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "We begin the fifth with Bennet pouring in on German. Lauren firing away, landing some solid stuff, but not slowing a determined Bennet down. Chloe getting after the blonde, backing her up again with some solid right hands..."

McCarthy: "German has to get moving. She's too stationary right now. She can't stand in front of Bennet..."

O'Dell: "May not have the legs back, Mac, and Bennet taking full advantage of that. She's squaring up the blonde in a big way. Lauren on the defensive, giving ground, covering up, trying to counter punch and DOWN SHE GOES! DOWN GOES GERMAN AFTER A BRUTAL STRAIGHT RIGHT HAND!"

Cassie: "IT'S OVER..."

O'Dell: "Lauren blown to her back, arms above her head. Count at three. Four. Five. German not moving, head lolling from side to side. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It is, indeed, over, and your winner by KO5 in one-punch fashion is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"

Tess: "Check the replay on this and you'll see why German is still down. She's being helped to a sitting position now, but still on the mat. Watch Bennet land a left jab, pops the head back and BOOM! The right hand splits the gloves and swivels the head and that's all she wrote."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I've got our winner, Chloe Bennet, and, Chloe, she did some pretty good boxing for awhile, but, when you solved her defenses, you didn't waste much time..."

Chloe: "No question about her boxing skills. We've seen those before. And I knew her plan was to get this to the cards and out point me. MY plan was a little different..."

Tess: "No Millennium Prize tonight..."

Chloe(smiling): "Not happening, Tess. Not happening."
